Definitely a great printer. Wish I could say the same about the 4 series, but I can say this, the 4 Plus have been more successful than the others, but not as much as any of the 3 series.

Today - 12/2023 - i got one for 288 USD (267 EUR). But befor i can use it, a have to make some more space. In past, i used an Anet A6 - 220x220x250 - and sometimes i have to try it 2 or 3 time to get 1 good print... So i hope, with the Neptune 3 Plus, i can start a print, forget it and be happy the next day.

@TheNextDecade
@TheNextDecade Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Sherman! I appreciate you supporting my workl! Do you mind sharing your problems with your Ender3? maybe I can help. First thing, if it isnt pumping out filament well, check your extruder motor and its tension arm. 9/10 times it busted and you need a dual gear extruder with a new motor. The motor isnt bad, the gear on the motor isnt removable and the plastic parts break. Thats why I recommend getting a all metal version with dual gear extruder, better filament grip and plastic flow.

@@TheNextDecade I’ve been trying to use petg but no matter the settings, just warps up the nosle or doesn’t stay on the bed, so I figured pla is the best to use
@TheNextDecade
@TheNextDecade Жыл бұрын
@@heyitssherman Get a feel with PLA first. All materials have a learning curve, and PETG and ABS both can be a pain. You may also need to look into your printing speeds, some materials need some special attention. I'd also look into Plastic Repellent Paint by Slice Engineering, I havent tried it yet, but I have seen some posts online about it being helpful to some. Hope this helps, I'll try to work on a PETG setting and release that down the line.

I’ve used isopropyl alcohol before I print and so far it hasn’t left any residue plus it helps the print stick to the bed better! Also helped me clean off the residue with the bed heated. Only time was when I was starting and forgot to do so. I’m new to 3D printing and everyone recommends it and I’ve had no issue so far besides forgetting 😂 Love the Plus! Though I am new, this is definitely a top tier printer and goes to show this is beginner friendly as well! Typically…the bed leveling is pain like you said. Wheels are perfect, bed is loose. Bed is perfect, wheels are too tight. Idk, I think I got it, but just worried at times that the wheels will degrade. But nonetheless the prints have been doing phenomenal! Just printed a Mandalorian helmet! Also just need help to fix stringing, but that’s my person situation not the printer. Phenomenal review and look at this plus! Also quite entertaining. Cant wait to see what you got going with your projects! Ultraman for the win!
@TheNextDecade
@TheNextDecade Жыл бұрын
Like most cartesean printers, we can expect the v-wheels to degrade over time. However if you’re experiencing a lot of rubber dust coming off, it could also be a sign of over tightening the concentric nut. Ive seen some use dry PTFE lubricants on the rails to prevent dust buildup and clump together any residual residue as the wheels roll over it. I did that for my cr-6 max when it started to make noise after nearly 800+ hours of printing. Thankfully, the PLUS has been a dream, havent had that over-sticking issue since sharing it here on the channel. I’m glad you found some enjoyment in the video! If you like Ultraman, keep an eye on the channel. Working on a new episode of SUIT UP! Its a crafting show for tokusatsu fans, next is a Ultraman mask. I give away free patterns too, so if you know anybody wanting to get into cosplay without a 3D printer, SUIT UP is the show for them. Thanks again for watching, Its means a lot to me~

@@TheNextDecade Awww sweet, thank you man for the info and help! Cool the problems you had were fixed too! Also oh yeah, I definitely know a person who would love your channel as a tokusatsu fan. Was also just talking about it today where I can help him print a Power Ranger or any tokusatsu character helmet (He loves the shows and even collects figures, was even looking at costumes for them) when I told him I now got a printer, what a coincidence 😂. Thank you once again and keep up the great work! Appreciate what you do, also subscribed before I first commented. Wishing all the love 🙏🏼 Also, do you think you may help me with the stringing? In cura I put the retraction distance to 7mm, I am currently printing a helmet mount and it seems the stringing are nearly gone, but few thin amount are there. Think few more mm would be good or is it some other setting I should fix?

@TheNextDecade. Now you have had this printer for a few months, approximately how many hours use have you run it for?. Also, how is the reliability and what repairs have you had to do?.
@TheNextDecade
@TheNextDecade Жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm working on a update video now, but the long and short is: after 500+ Hrs of consistent printing Belt wore down and needs replacing but that was my fault for not ensuring it was seated correctly. Vwheels are very slowly grinding down but I dont see those needing replacement for at least another 6 months, might switch to linear rail. Small issue with the hot end overflowing, but ELEGOO support helped me replace the parts and sent extra replacements for free. Overall, its still a damn good machine and maintenance has been simple. Hope this helped!

What kind of filament are you using? How hot are you printing? have you changed out the internal teflon tubing or nozzle? What about the tension bars and X arm leveling? I think you might just need to make a few small tweaks and things should be rolling smooth again. I'm in the middle of a huge Neptune 4 series review right now, a lot of things I do to get the 4 pluses to work, will def help you with nep 3 plus stuff too.

I recently got a Neptune 3 plus and I was wondering what temperatures do you have your nozzle and bed at? Also what’s the height you print it? I don’t know if that’s what it’s called currently mines at -1.49.
@TheNextDecade
@TheNextDecade Ай бұрын
Sorry I missed this!!! I print around 210-215 for most PLA, bed at 50-60. I print most layers at .18-.28, but I think you mean your Z offset. Its different on everyone's machine, but mine is about the same as yours give or take .5mm in each direction. the trick is to do the auto bed level, then when its done and sitting in the middle, slide in some paper under it, and adjust the height by .01-.1 until the paper easily slides, but has some tension. Good news is, the Neptune 3 lets you adjust the z offset mid print. Hope this helps and Thanks for watching!!

how good is it at small prints , not sure shoud i go for pro or for plus cause most i mean 99% oof the times i print small prints and this 1 % iso nlydue to the withd not height i have some ideas for large stuff but i think i wornt be doing them cause they would be just waste of filament but pro doesnt have the bed leveling only automatic while plus uses same belt as pro

I Always say the more space the better. I really enjoy the 3 plus, so much so I bought it 3 times!! Sadly the 3 series is being discontinued and replaced with the 4 series. fret not, 4 plus and max are on the way, and they do feature heat bed zones. If its anything like the 4, 4 pro or 3 plus, its gonna do great. Up to you man!

@@TheNextDecade im thinking that 4 is probbably wearing a lot due to the high speed but divied heated bed is pretty good ,, i with 3 plus i am worried of bed shaking due to larger mass also uses same belt as pro , i have ender 3 but its in bad shape and ahd problems with filament being inbetween nozzle and ptfe tube which is why im looking for new one even though i havent printed much stuff or even useful cause i litteraly i have 2kg of trash moistly failed designs bad project ideas , prototypes ,tests , and similar stuff plus failed prints , supports . and because i usually print small things im intrested in percision , one time i was asked if i could 3d print solar system with sun being 300mm and that is the only thing that was too large .

How durable is 3D printed cosplay? I'm doing a Kamen Rider Zero One fan film and it's going to be very rough and I don't want the costumes breaking.
@TheNextDecade
@TheNextDecade Жыл бұрын
Depends on the materials you use and how you post process parts. I'd recommend studying how they film the shows before you try to drop some serious cash on making a costume. Rider usually has 3 types of suits, hero, stunt and stage. Hero suits for up close pretty shots. Stunt suits, softer and easier on the stunt people. Stage suits, exclusively for stage and promotional events, less durable but easier to wear on a stage in the hot Japanese summer.
