My chicks hatched! Some how I ended up with 30 instead of 25 and I didn’t realize this until after they had all hatched. 20 made it out healthy and happy despite needing to assist two of the chicks on day 19. The last to hatch did need their feet splinted but they bounced back and are doing great!

Great video. I have chicks that have hatched but not all of them how do I know when to call it quits? How do I know when all that have hatched are going to hatch. They started hatching last night,
@MyshireFarm2 жыл бұрын
A normal hatch is around 2 to 3 days but typically you don’t call it quits until none have hatched for at least 24 hours

We found mason jar water lids special for quail. Do we still need rocks in? It’s a pretty narrow space.

I bought 25 hatching eggs . The hatch date was yesterday (may7) . I’ve been keeping my temp at 99.5 as close as I can get it w/40% humidity . Until lock down ,same temp but increased the humidity to around 70 %. I used the Govee . So far 8 have hatched . 🐣 My question is how long do I expect for the quail to hatch or not hatch ?
@MyshireFarm Жыл бұрын
Usually 3-4 days. Increase your humidity 5% and your temp .5 degree and leave them in there for 72 hours
@victorm7274 Жыл бұрын
@@MyshireFarm today is the actual hatch date. 8 hatched yesterday And 1 Hatched today. I increased the temp by 5 % as well as the humidity by 5%. Thanks👍🏼

@@MyshireFarm 72 hr ? On one of your videos you said to place the chicks in the brooder 24 hrs after hatching. This way their dry and not so hungry. So I place the first 8 in the brooder at 99.5 degree heat lamp. With food and water near the heat source. They’re not clustered together . They’re pretty much scattered ,eating , drinking , doing great .

Hi, thanks for the video and sharing your knowledge. I can see the globe in the brooder is unprotected, is there a risk for the chicks to get burn if they jump? I ask because we are building our brooder.

During hatching do you keep the humidity and temp the same as when in lockdown? I start the incubation process tomorrow and these videos have been SO helpful!
@MyshireFarm2 жыл бұрын
Temp stays the same the whole time and humidity should be around 40-45% until lockdown and then bump it up to 65-70%

@@MyshireFarm Do you not use heat plates? Heat lamps are expensive and dangerous

Is 6 quails/sq ft from wk 0 - 3 also apply for jumbo quails? If not, what would you recommend for jumbos? Thanks!
