Hey my friends, this week I tried following the most common health recommendations at once! There were many more but the video (and my life 😂) was overwhelming with all of them so I included just the major health guidelines here (: There are definitely some things I didn’t know and some things I’ll keep doing from now on! Hope you enjoy, all my love xxx

Hey beautiful people, my life was very overwhelming for the last 7 days! 😂 I actually followed a few more guidelines than I showed here, including ones for eye health and skincare, but the video felt a little overwhelming with everything in so I included only the major ones (: all my love & hope you enjoy! The 30g sugar is so unrealistic in today's age. I don't even put sugar in anything or eat anything sweet/with added sugar but on those days when I am making something for my family. I have to put quite a bit of sugar to make it a little bit sweet. 30g is about 3 to 4 tbsp I think. And for children the limit is 19g. I don't understand what chocolates could kids eat and remain under that limit.
@strawberryinsomnia9188
@strawberryinsomnia9188 5 ай бұрын
@@zainabtanweer2910 it’s not unrealistic-it just requires a change of habits and mindset around sugar. Children should NOT eat chocolate daily. The guidelines are for everyday, not holidays or special occasions; chocolate chip pancakes for Sunday morning breakfast are appropriate, having sugary fruit juice with breakfast and a piece of milk chocolate in the evening 4 days a week is not. Grilled nectarines with a little unsweetened whipped cream is a good example of a treat that’s easy to consume multiple times throughout the week without exceeding the sugar intake guidelines.

This is a really interesting idea. Not sure what others think, but given the variability between individuals and that the general recommendations are made for the "average" person, I have always assumed that those who are health conscious, and very fit, may actually be made worse off by sticking to national guidelines. For instance, many national guidelines really seem to over-stress cardio and under-stress resistance training. :)
@1avrils
@1avrils 5 жыл бұрын
xtraOrdinary Athletes I agree, this is telling people who have zero health inclinations and bumming out the ones making an effort. The protein thing is messed up. There are other calculators which will say to eat 140g on a 1800 calorie diet, but 100 is minimum for people who exercise. Cardio isn’t long term exercise. It’s about getting the heart rate up often enough, but not 3 hours and over weights- no way!
@xtraOrdinaryAthletes

@@1avrils Well said! Couldn't agree more! :)
@Mellie84
@Mellie84 5 жыл бұрын
While I see both of your points and have participated in both worlds... you also forget that the “cardio isn’t long term exercise” is not applicable to career-/hobby-enthusiastic- marathon and ultramarathon runners.
@1avrils
@1avrils 5 жыл бұрын
BloodOrangeCupcake That’s different if you’re competing! I mean for the average person. A lot of people run wrong, if I did a marathon I would injure myself as I have a collapsed foot and each step is a jolt through my knees and spine. Someone extraordinary at it is a whole other thing. Cardio in general just is overusing the body for short term energy loss which is pointless for many. Doesn’t help with long term strength or weight loss and is done for its own sake.
@dillenbeck16
@dillenbeck16 5 жыл бұрын
For me cardio is super important because I still play basketball a lot. Maybe when I am in my forties and don't play sports anymore I will start doing more resistance training. Until then, I have to do a lot of cardio otherwise I will start losing in basketball. When I started doing almost all cardio and little to no weight training I started winning more than I ever did before. It's weird because almost all fitness experts push the idea of resistance training as super important but for basketball players (and probably soccer players as well) cardio is just way more important to success.

That breakfast you made with the avocados and eggs looks amazing. General health guidelines should state principles that accommodate a variety of contexts rather than specific fixed numbers that don't even apply to most individuals.

@mathryn_m
@mathryn_m 2 жыл бұрын
@@Danuxsy lol I watched this video 3 years ago but from what I remember... Yes, I've always believed that certain habits are universally healthy, but fixed numbers often do nothing to help. Rather, consistent models and understanding of context does. For example, when losing weight, it's as simple as burning more calories than what you eat. The number that someone burns, or the number that someone eats, can each individually vary and that's okay - those are the numbers that are stupid to make "fixed" and what I remember my critique of these guidelines being. A track athlete who trains 8 hours a day will need to eat more than someone who jogged for 20 minutes that day, all other things equal.

To keep doing that ( drinking ( lemon ) juice ) regularly, one should always have a plain glass of water afterwards of juice. It helps but its always recomended not to go brush teeth straight after ( 2 to 15 min) fizzy drinks , wine, fruit juices or any other drink or meal that is sour and will raise acidity in mouth... i doubt wether having a gum gets acidity level down enough....

Generally it depends on their osmoregulation process and how they deal with access/ lack of ions ;)) but yeah, most of the sea water fish for example drink water like crazy bc they'd die from the lack of water(too much salt in the water) so this saying is kinda accurate

Ok so I just found your channel recently and have binge-watched your videos for like 3 days straight lmao. Seriously, you're doing such a great job! Also there aren't many people who have travelled to Slovenia (I'm Slovenian) and I was really surprised to see that you've been here, that's awesome!

I don't know how you got on my recommended page, but I'm glad you did! I've never felt comfortable watching fitness or nutrition videos because they always have underlying issues or stigmas with eating disorders as being the key or promoting starvation, but I genuinely enjoy watching your videos and they are actually educational! To the point where it is somewhat motivating to actually change my diet/exercise routine!

the 150 minutes cardio (at least in the netherlands) also contains walking to the grocery store, doing chores, that kind of thing. Here there's a guide to be active for at least 45 to 60 minutes a day

Hey Natacha! I know that your focus is more on functional training, building athleticism, and developing skills, but could you make some videos on hypertrophy workouts? I would be great to see how you trained for hypertrophy before you got into the style of training you enjoy now. Thanks!

@kharemi

You're most likely eating too little. Your body could be in conservation mode trying to savour every calorie because it isn't getting enough energy! I started losing some weight after I just literally ate more 😄

Hmm some people like myself are petite , not that fit and having skinny fat....they should not eat over 1400 - 1500 calories. But its more about what you intake and how u combine then the calories intake that matters because you will always ( within a reasonably clean diet) outnumber your cheat meal or having a bit more protein or fat once a week. Supposing you get cardio workouts of about 1 hr to 1.5 hour and some walks , runs, swimming .... in your week. You should increase your fitness level doing hiit or intervals or STRENGTH routines so your metabolism is higher and or change your NEAT. If doing all that yields NO results after 2 to 4 (6) weeks 1 check your stress levels ; 2 your sleep ( both very important!! ! Stress ( cortisol) levels and sleep influences each other !》 bad sleep induces hunger hormones 》 you eat more and make worse unhealthier choices EVERYONE AGREES ON THIS) 3 wether you stock water and/or hydrate enough, and 4 *your meals* = do you eat clean 70 to 80 % of time? Also *check those portions* especially of healthiest meals desserts and snacks! ! Maybe you are eating as healthy as u can but too much!
