Nick, here's another instance of you missing a subtly human factor. Do you think teams have no control over their ability to stop runs? You might say that the answer is just to play better, so it's irrelevant whether the other team is on a run or not. But you're living on paper. There is definitely an art to run-stopping and counterpunching and the Celtics have developed it. Maybe you can attribute that entirely to human psychological weakness, but it exists so you have to take it into account. As a Celtics fan, seeing what they've done since they were 25-25, I always felt like they were in control of the series even when I also knew, during certain points and to a greater or lesser degree, that they were probably going to lose every single individual game. I don't think you get that Nicky. In fact I think only CB gets it.

I like how Nick said his pick was the easy choice, because it was. People were going against all conventional wisdom when picking the Nets. Some even acknowledged it and still picked them. Boston was the higher seed, had a better coach, better defense, and had been playing some of the best basketball in the NBA since New Years. This loss was always the most likely outcome, people just didn’t wanna see it.

Could not agree more. And this is coming from a Lakers fan who despises the Celtics. If you watched the Celtics play basketball this year since January 1 it has been blatantly obvious that they have been the best team in the NBA since that point. they were routinely beating teams by 30 to 40 points while scoring less than 100. I’ve been number one in the league on offense and defense over the stretch but the NBA media at large fell into the normal routine of always picking the team that has the best player. The Nets had to limp into the playoffs and people really chose them to win the east. Anybody could be a so-called analyst if this is the ideology they’re following. The only part I didn’t get right was the sweep. I thought the Celtics would get it done in 5

@@seriousaleks8752 I'll argue some of it but I'm not a Nets fan. Lebron DID play in a weak East. What does that have to do with now? The East is actually the tougher conference now. @SeanDaNerd

LeBron did play in a weaker East. The East got a lot better since 2020. Giannis and the Bucks got better, Trae got better, Miami obviously got better, and of course the Bulls did as well. And don’t discount the progression the Celtics have had over the last few years. Marcus Smart is much more consistent on offense, Tatum has a better handle and better positioning. That said, it doesn’t excuse KD whatsoever. And it doesn’t downplay the excellence LeBron displayed for over a decade.

Yes KD had a horrible series by his standard but he didn't create the team, if anyone did it was Kyrie who asked KD to join. Nobody's talking about the horrible performance KD had. It's either credit going to the Celtics are Blake deflection. "Kyrie, Steve Nash, Ben Simmons on the sideline, they're the ones to blame". I think KDs biggest mistake is not being able to recognize himself for what he is. He’s just not a leadership personality and not that great as a primary playmaker, but he wants to prove he could be a leader and main ball handler so bad cuz he wants to be better than LeBron in the public eye… that’s why he left Golden State to form his own team so he can win on his own as the leader… last year was bad luck but this year was just bad play… sad to see, if he didn’t mind the media and all that, he coulda stayed on Warriors and they’d probably be winning this year… or the last…

Yes. KD left GSW purely because of his fragile ego. Now instead of improveing his image, it has been permanently stained. I don't see the Nets winning a 💍 now. Not after the 2 ( bad) Harden trades

KD knows the “formula” on how to WIN a championship (GSW)…and how to LOOSE one…does he have the mature mindset at the age of 33 to figure it out? Time is ticking away fast.

When you graduate from the mean streets of American cities and/or you are the 1st person in your family to gain access to (what must seem like) unlimited $$$ you are going to have to invest in your long term emotional maturity and mental health with the same level of commitment you apply to your skills and physical health.

100% Broussard is going to hype up the Nets and Lakers to go to the Finals by December. 100%. It's analysts like him who do all the hyping and base their picks on how stars do on a random Tuesday in November. I've seen it countless times from him.
