Hey Conor great video I have a disability that makes it hard for me to climb we are definitely implementing this technique in our greenhouses this year thank you for sharing awesome stuff quick question Are doing a single or a staggered row on the cucumbers i watched your video on the tomatoes and seen that they were double just wondering what you thought would work best for cucumbers

Single row.

is there a reason the irrigation tubing is spaced so wide in the cucumber bed? I would think you would want the tubes to be right under the plants inside the beds rather than on the edges. Thanks!

The irrigation lines next to the cukes is under compost.

What's the cucumber variety? The type and disease package helps quite a bit I'd imagine. Hybrid?

What are you spraying to keep them alive for so long. How are you not seeing bacterial wilt?
@NeversinkFarm
@NeversinkFarm 8 ай бұрын
We don't spray them. We use a lot of compost and keep the soil well balanced. We irrigate with drip on a timer.

@@NeversinkFarmare you using fertilizer in the line? What's the zone and average temperature across the cycle. I am guessing it ain't getting too warm there? If it is, have you been consistent across the years? For me, the biggest headache for cucumber longevity is surrounding the need for phosphorus, this may be related to issues regarding parent biomes, alongside coping with 42C days temps and 30+C night temps for in excess of 6 weeks a cycle. We have applied constant Mycos,.and PSBs but still get burn out in 10weeks average..to grow one set a season as was possible in the UK etc just won't work where we are today..never the less. I like the shots of the fruit laying ready and and visible on the vines. Always interesting to see how you guys work.

@@NeversinkFarm I bought a bunch of the hooks from you this year. I love them for both tomatoes and cukes. They definitely lasted longer than usual but I have had bacterial wilt problems for the last few years. I’m setting up a 20 x 50 to specifically grow cucumbers in and I’m going to try and exclude the cucumber beetle this year hoping that that keeps my bacteria wilt down. This year I lost an average of %20 in all plantings. I also see powdery mildew and leaf spot yearly.

@@scottcomeau1789 Here in Minnesota we only have wilt and mildew problems late in the season. September on. It definately started in areas that did not receive enough airflow, where the vines were too crowded. In the summer those crowded vines still had enough vigor to fight the wilt, once it was getting cold, they did not. Socrates variety had amazing resistance to wilt, and produced for us from late June into October on the same vines.
