It's been like that for years with Asus. Only Strix-E and above has the seven segment display. The good thing is that other brands such as MSI / GB / Asrock started to implement them on their mid range boards. Asus didn't want to follow the trend it seems.

Something worth mentioning, AFAIC, is the number of supported thermal sensors. Placing temperature probes at strategic places in the case (e.g., on a tower cooler, or at the GPU backplate) can give one really nice smooth fan control (avoiding spikes from internal CPU sensors, for instance).

I would probably pick the Asus Prime Z890-P WIFI as the most basic, like the feature set on this one better for price comparison it is quite a bit less expensive than the Tuf version. I was thinking about getting ASUS again, but disappointed in the feature set compared to other manufacturers and now leaning towards a Gigabyte board due to addition of LED readouts and adding Start and reset buttons on their motherboards. Asus appears to be wanting to still charge extra for these features which should be standard
