Hola, Don Roberto. Your series of New Mexico history is so interesting, and I'm enjoying it very much. I am a native Taoseño and as you know, Padre Martinez had children. My family is from the Pueblo of Taos. The Romero family.

I went to school in Taos with Romeros from Taos Pueblo. I have Romero cousins in Taos, and I heard that we have Romero relatives at Taos Pueblo.

Padre Martinez should have a statue in New Mexico. His memory has been unjustly vilified and should be restored.

My great great great grandfather “Don Bernardo Abeyta” is part of the history of “El Santaurio De Chimayo” and I am currently researching family Ancestry. I’m wondering if our families are related. “Don Bernardo Abeyta” was also a leader of the “Pententes Hermosa”
