I never ask for subs or likes. I have 245 subs and over 600 videos. It is a long road when you never ask. I just want to get more people into VR so more titles will be made. It is a selfish endeavor.

I thought this was clickbait at first but no, you're 100% correct. It is incredibly needed to have this type of smoothing/stabilization.

I was just sharing some VR gameplay with a friend online the other day and in the back of my mind I was hoping that he was not getting motion sickness from my head movements. It is great that something like this is out there for making VR content

Atta boi! I am an Oculus Quest user. (It says that on my black headset, so thats what I'm calling it) my VR user experience is very niche, soon to be obsolete. This type of viedo gets me hyped so that when I finally upgrade it will will actually feel like an upgrade. Like experiencing vr for the first time all over again.

If you use oculus quest for pcvr and aren't specifically looking for mixed reality*, you can use oculus mirror which had been around since quest 1 in the pc side client installation folder under support > diagnostics, and oculus mirror has multiple smoothing and presentation options. This works well as a source with any recording software such as OBS studio.

It’s not something I realised I needed or even fully understood what you were showing us until you explained it. A good demo would be to play a set-piece style part of a jerky game with it on and off and put them side by side, but I think you summarised it well

Man, lots of new developement. I've been busy (finally) tinkering with YUR and have a reader working that should allow for custom UIs for streamers or integration of its information in other systems while in-game.
@krunchy37612 жыл бұрын
I've gotten more motion sickness from watching VR gameplay videos than being in VR myself. This is great if it is widely adopted.
@brappineau41612 жыл бұрын
Yea, same here. Not having the FOV or being in control, it's hard to anticipate movement I think is what does it.

Maybe I'm a wild card degenerate 1%'er, but I prefer my raw VR footage with all the shakes and jigglies. The smokthed footage might be more "cinematic" for many people but to me it takes away from the ability to interpret the experience of the person I'm watching, which is one of the aspects I personally enjoy about watching VR gameplay, and even flatscreen gameplay.

My favorite game will never be a VR game and I doubt any VR game will be able to compare, not for a long time. And that is planetside2.. Its so addictive I find myself playing it more than the time I spend in reality.

@TheJonathanExp2 жыл бұрын
Good content 👍
@riseofthethorax2 жыл бұрын
My Insta 360 EVO doesn't have a problem with camera shake, I've determined this by the fact that the frame for the content is round not rectangular. Which means its easy to adjust the image to compensate for a number of camera movements, also even if you turn camera upside down, the content produced will remain right side up..

Looks good, hope Meta take inspiration for their native headsets. Have found for sure when streaming VR would get dramatically fewer viewed from playing due to the erratic nature and the 4:3 aspect ratio. Pavlov a good example but this kind of smoothing would be good even for VRchat.

Stuff like this really is important. Another thing that needs to happen is for the Quest to choose which eye to record from, just an incredibly basic feature like that being missing is insane to me. Especially when it used to be the left eye only being recorded... That was even more insane than right now where only right eye records and you can't change.. Making it hopeless for people like me who are left eye dominant to really make exciting clips for my kill streaks or to demonstrate my stock etc. Playstation 4 had great sharing options right outta the box in 2013... It's 2022 now and streaming is _huge_ and Meta still hasn't sorted that shit out.. cmon... They're making it way too hard for people like you to promote VR. You need to really be good at streaming stuff to make good VR footage, the average joe (me) doesn't have the time and patience to deal with all that stuff, so the features that come in the box should be up to snuff. I see this in the mainstream press a lot, they don't do a lot of VR, and when they do, it's an absolute mess. Either that or they're using the PSVR cause it's the only one that lets you stream at a decent quality without faffing about for two hours trying to get every planet to align... Anyhoo, this software is great and needs to be used as a template for Meta and Valve to follow. Meta and Valve have limitless money, and fixing this part of VR _should_ be within their grasp... Just pay 8 guys for a year to get this done.. can not be impossible when an indie makes this thing on a shoestring budget....

I may not visit comments on KZbin very often, and even rarer I write my own (YT comment section is not suitable for discussion and I also found out YT shadow banned/bans most of my comments anyway; content creators would have to manually approve them and it's usually just impractical to do so for them on such large scale). Despite me not commenting, I do enjoy your content. You may occasionally ramble a bit (ironic, since my comment is a bit of a ramble too), but you keep picking interesting topics, often unique compared to other VR KZbinrs, or with different spin on them. I may not agree with you all the time, but I believe it's healthy to hear all sides (in general, not only VR). Personally, I am not a fan of "toxic positivity" - yes, people should try to be polite, but I want to hear why for example my opinion might be incorrect. How else am I supposed to grow, reexamine my opinions and values, if opposition is forbidden from any form of critique or disagreement? Please don't be discouraged by lack of or by some negative comments. It is in a human nature to complain about things we don't like, but we rarely voice our satisfaction (it's similar with e.g. reviews on Steam or specialized tech subredits). Wish you luck!

@marknederlof20272 жыл бұрын
This doesn't clarify it. Both prononciations read as live. Its streaming so it's probably meant like live streaming
