I lost about 120 lb in about a year no intense exercise but did a couple of pushups and pullups everyday not consistently and one day meal started with 0 carbs then started adding carbs about 4 months into it, now i can eat whatever i want but it is vary manageable if you're watching your consumption(winging it) still doing 1 meal a day, eat at noon, going to work on an empty stomach or eating a couple dates(fruit), at noon still barely hungry, eating is very much an addiction you can go over hunger it's all about managing carbs, carbs suck but tastes great, it helps that i dislike fast food i even got heavy cooking for myself, i eat lots of fat and healthy fat really never caused a spike in my weight it's all about the carbs, i don't believe in ditching one thing altogether but moderation of carbs is key keep it as low and less frequent as possible and consume more animal based diet, fruits are great as well

He paid a 50k bond to avoid a much lower bond with conditional release. What would a conditional release involve for a drug offence? Drug and alcohol testing. Removing alcohol as a "theme" of the show implies he is still drinking nor see's it as an issue in his life. The joker thing tells me he has little remorse and if anything he is taunting the critics, police and judge etc. Not good. He hasn't hit rock bottom and i haven't seen a whiff of accountability yet. So much for him agreeing with you on that when you spoke to him eh? If even the threat of prison time hasn't had an effect then sadly i think this will be immediately obvious to the judge. Unless he rocks up to his hearing showing that he has made positive changes, such as voluntary drug testing and real remorse not only will he probably get some jail time but if his wife is still the same too they'll possibly loose custody of their kids - or at least have regular scheduled CPS visits as part of probation. Anyone who has experienced this with friends/family will be able to spot the obvious signs/patterns and knows he ain't even close to his redemption arc. Hope i'm wrong for him and the kids sake but i'm not gunna hold my breath and neither should you Cody. You tried, you can't help someone who doesn't believe they have a problem.

My contention is that you agree he needs to take responsibility and go to rehab, but he can’t even admit why he lost the weight. He’s not actually taking responsibility or going to rehab. That’s the problem. He’s not even admitting he has a problem. He’s not stopping drugs or alcohol. Understand that this man is still living in complete denial. When LegalBytes caught flack for pointing out DUIGuys idiocy during Depp, Andrew waited to see which side was winning and threw gasoline on it for views. I think most of us wants the best for Nick. I think some people might be blinded by his education and prestations. Please, don't be. He's a human with flaws. Like all of us. But he doesn't humble himself. He still goes hard. I wish him peace with himself and others. Toxicity is destructive. He hasn't reached greater understanding yet. His illness is stronger than his mind. He has zero perspective. Maybe a walkabout? Living in a house in the archipelago? Climb a mountain? Take a complete timeout. Until he has a lawyer and they put together a legal strategy it's probably prudent for him to pretend like nothing has changed. If I learned anything from him it's that you really have to play the role of "innocent until proven guilty", so until evidence conclusively shows otherwise he'll pretend that powder was baking soda and his wife never fucked another man while he watched from the corner. Abandoning an addict is the absolute worst thing family members can do. Rehabs promote doing that because they want the repeat business. If an addict stays alive long enough, most get clean on their own. Barnes called out Mindset for allegedly moving to Korea for the little kids. For Nick to already look as good as he does he wasn’t a long term hard core drinker or user or he’d be rolled up in bed covered with sweat from withdrawals, at best.

Rehabs isolate the addict from friends and family so they can take a very deep dive into their soul without any interference from outsiders that might hinder their progress. Rehab usually promotes building strong connections with family and friends but only after one is clean I’m not sure if most addicts end up getting clean on their own. It would be hard to find good data on this for obvious reasons

If I had to venture a guess, if there is a “substance problem,” it’s not alcohol, but whatever it is he logically seems to have gotten into, at the very least on that particular famous night, combined with alcohol and an obvious hopeless feeling as a result of the decision in the lawsuit against him. Too bad we’re forbidden by law from just chewing the raw coca leaf - it’s supposed to be not nearly as addictive, less so than caffeine, and a more effective stimulant than caffeine. My ancestors chew it in the mountains to this day as part of their ritualistic communion with God.
