How To Replace The Fuel Vent Line On A Stihl Chainsaw - LEAKING, STALLING, UNDERPOWERED!

The Fuel Vent Line ensures the fuel in the fuel tank can freely expand (during hotter climates and during operation), contract/vacuum (when cooling down) and be contained (no leaks and no contaminants drawn in). I found it online, it's called "Echo Vent Assembly Costs a pretty penny, but it's better than blocking it off like we did, where it popped off and spilled fuel everywhere on a hot day of it running.

Really useful video! The instruction manual makes no mention of how to replace the fuel-tank vent. Honestly, what were the people at Stihl thinking-that we would have to take our chainsaw to a repair specialist or something?

Man your 025 has a way different filter than mine. Mine wasn't acting right it. I had the original oem one so I replaced it with the original oem and it just keeps blowing off also since I modified the saw. Everytime i go to tune the high it just blasts off like a rocket or fuel still escaped out of the top lmao. Thanks for letting me know I can use a different one. Definitely going to use the zip tie

Hi! I have a 30 yr old Stihl 028 chainsaw that runs great! I was using it the other day and fuel started spraying out of a thin hard white plastic tube that can be seen on the body of the saw just to the left of the fuel filler cap. Should this white plastic tube (quite thin and about 2" long have a fuel tank vent line attached to it? Never had this happen before so not sure what might be causing it? Probably, but you will most likely have fuel spill out as well as providing an entry point for dust and debris to enter into the tank...
