I totally thought I would go ‘downhill’ with each pregnancy, too, Katie! We are expecting our 8th in February and I want to attest that I truly feel like my pregnancies are getting BETTER! 🎉🤯 I’m 36 and we plan to let the Lord dictate how many children we have so I’m intrigued to see what this will look like, but so far, so good! I wanted to jump on to say this because I feel like many women expect a decline but I truly feel like the necessity of doing more children gives me energy! My diet has also improved over the years so that totally may play into it but I am grateful!! ❤

I love finding big family community online. Our family and local community do not have large families. It's great to hear so many of the same ideals as we have. We are having our 6th and people keep saying we will need a bigger house ......we still have a bedroom we don't use because our kids don't want to split up! 😆😆

We were a family of 4 in 400sq ft until we built our new 600sq ft tiny home ❤we still want more kiddos God willing! My thoughts exactly why do people need a room per child???? Americans are a little silly, I like having my kids share rooms I did with my sister growing up and liked it just fine. We have acreage to spend time outside with the animals and I love having my family close, I think that’s what Americans are majorly missing today.

I liked having my own room growing up. I like alone time. Not everyone does though. I can’t with my 3 children since we only have 3 bedroom shared walls home with no yard in expensive Oregon. You don’t have to have each one have their own room. I would if I could. I’m sorry and please forgive me if this offends anyone.

I think its easier to have a smaller home if you have a bigger yard. Everyone needs their own space at times, but it doesn't necessarily have to be indoors.

Not necessarily a chore chart but I think with some kids it's good to have a step by step(clean the bathroom, make a bed ect.) chart of what they need to do is helpful

People always asked my godfather how he afforded his family. He was a faithful catholic and physicist and mathematician. He explained that the first child was the biggest shock. The second doubles the time energy and expense. The third is nearly impossible because there is only two adults. But after the 4th, fifth and 6th it isn't much difference at all! He reckoned 5% increase with each new one. They had 13 children.

Funny when you say ‘summer is so short’.. I live in northern Sweden, here you can talk about short summer but still I think it’s long because farther north is even shorter 😁 and also I love all the seasons so I don’t dread winter or anything. My summer starts in May but usually it’s not really ‘summer weather’ until June, July and then maybe half of August. And even then it’s around 75 mostly which is perfect for me ☺️

The difference between hand wash and dishwasher is they are completely different systems. Completely different! It is the same as the laundry. Always run it. Also those things you use constantly stay out and hand wash. And the apron/tea towel. I use both systems concurrently and it stays cleaner easier.

Americans need such big houses! So much stuff so need space to store it all! We have 4 kids and 970 sq ft, we don’t really need more but moving to a house to get a yard and stuff so we can have chickens etc. The new house is 1600 sq feet and it feels massive. Currently 3 bedrooms but could easily make it into 5 bedrooms. We have 3 now too but we use two to sleep in, we all like to sleep together. Our own rooms, nah. I need a hobby room for sewing and leather work etc, but during the days we’re outside or in the common living spaces. My friend in the US said their house is so small and it’s pry at least 2000 and they have 3 kids.

Great topics! I watched both of your channels today and they were both great!! I just want to say I tried chore charts, and giving my 7 year old an allowance, but it really felt like yes..it was hard to manage and keep up with it, but also they were not really chores, but responsibilities, things they need to be doung daily, should be doing, not for money or stickers or rewards, but to be a helpful contributing member of the home, so I decided I wamted to make their lists more like my own. I ended up making them each a daily responsibilities chart, and if they did those they could maybe watch t.v. in the afternoon while I make dinner or those type of extra things. It's mostly basics like brush teeth, get dressed, make your bed, pick up toys, feed the dog, help with the chickens, clear the table etc. depending on their age, and its working really well, I use pictures for the younger kids, and they enjoy helping and being responsible too.

Hi Lisa, are your expectations really high on your children? Are you relaxed and happy when you are with them…especially in the kitchen? What kind of discipline do you use? Are you able to spend one on one time with each child…and playing with them? How do you teach each child to obey you? What do you use as consequences when your child has disobeyed you? Would be good to know how you respond when you feel really stretched… I grew up in a family of eight children…I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! And yes, I could write a book on our life growing up! ❤

I need advice. How would you go about this? My husband for whatever reason feels the need to clean no matter how clean our house is. Example, I can just mop the floors and it's clean. It feels clean and smells clean. The house feels cooler because it's clean haha. But as soon as he gets home from work he sweeps and mops. I've tried to explain how it makes me feel to him but he says he's just trying to help. I get upset and it's making me feel like nothing I do is ever good enough. He tries to hurry and wash dishes so I can't do them. He does it all except fold and put laundry away. I've asked others and I've just been told to get over it and I should feel blessed. But I feel like I'm useless. All I'm good for is birthing babies and nursing. I've tried explaining it like if I went to his job and just took over and redid everything and he just brushes it off. I'm feeling so unmotivated, useless, and it's now affecting the way I see him . This HURTS what can I do?

Ask him to give up or delegate a few of the tasks over to you so you feel involved and useful. You can say you want to be involved on the field playing too and not just sitting out on the bench. And that you'd like to work as a team so you can have your own role and participate too in this area. Maybe he feels like he has to do all those things to be valuable in the family. If so, you can thank him and show him appreciation so he doesn't feel he has to do everything to feel valuable.

The wonderful thing about a big family is that the kids always have friends and helpers :) I have 7 siblings myself and for myself having 4 kids it’s easier with more in my opinion. With the first I had to give him so much attention but with the second he could play with the first and I could do more work around the house :) I’ve also gotten more and more efficient with each kid and do way more now than I did before I had kids. They give me so much energy. ♥️

No one I’ve seen my entire life has 8 kids they all have between 1-5. One grandma had 6 they tuned out 3 girls including my mother died from alcohol. The 4th girl is a car lady. The 5th divorced. The male not sure were he is. I don’t have kids. Not sure I want them. Any pain & suffering you cause your child God throws you back anyway next time around. Be careful you have the time for each one. Some parents feel guilty not helping them through college others treat them like farm animals who raise themshelves never having their own room or privacy. God will judge. Don’t say I will let God decide how many. Any one can take a gun and shoot a person in the head but that does not mean you do it. Europe now has laws that the child can sue a parent if the child does not like the way it was raised. One couple had just one boy & he ended up killing animals so they stopped having mor. Kid cost them so much in psych bills. Near death experiences say you will experience the kids pain & struggles there whole life then are born into abuse. Children are not play things. Some people have not gotten enough attention & fear being alone so they bri g others here to suffer with them then say it’s Gods will. There are people with a lot of kids there lives are bad. Some kids leave you & never come back
