I bought the GB70 and a carrying case for it several years ago after reading all the reviews and doing a lot of research. I live in a state where the snow is deep and the temps plummet at night. Unless you can plug your car in at night, it can be difficult to start it in the morning, even for batteries with the highest CCA. The GB70 has never failed me and will take on more than I could ever put it thru. It's the best purchase you will ever make. It's very portable and easy to use, not to mention safer to use as well should you ever hook up the clamps to the wrong terminals. I can do quite a number of jumps with it and it would still show a full charge. I didn't use it for a full year one time and when I checked it to see if I needed to charge it, it still had a full charge. I used to haul around one of those huge, heavy, lead acid battery ones that were a pain in the ass. You had to constantly keep recharging them after one or two jumps or check them for a full charge before you could use them if you let them set for longer than a couple of weeks. Plus their life expectancy was short lived after recharging them so many times. I love the GB70 and will buy another one when it comes time to. When that will be, I honestly can't say. It is still performing just as strong as the day I received it several years ago.

Now I'm a guy who is in a wheelchair, so this is a bit heavy. This is why I purchased the separate case for it. I'm very blessed to be able to drive in spite of my health condition and I take great pride in being able to work on my handicapped accessible van myself. What can I say, I'm a stubborn man, lol 😂!

I appreciate your review. You covered all the connections and identified the Output and Input connections besides the aligator clips. I like that i could send this with a friend, and have them plug it in to an 'always on' SAE Socket [cigarette lighter type] to charge up a weak battery too -- which can help protect an alternator by giving the battery a charge up. Thank you again for the ideas and sharing your knowledge and how this can be used. Good on you, Mate.

I too have a GB70(lovely bit of kit) ,,after waiting a couple of weeks to recharge (ok not weeks but forever ) via USB,I bought the option Noco charger ,think it cost £20,,works great.. I paid more for the GB70 over the GB40/20 because I wanted the line out 12v/5amp.. I use to power my heated vest while riding my 125cc bike,it would die in no time powering heated gear,,,all in all works a treat,,,and is worth the money...In this vid the guy connected up the wrong way round ,ie positive to negative,,,I had the a feeling he was going to press the red button,,I maybe wrong, but doing that would have destroyed both batteries...regards

excellent review can't fault the presentation or the testing of this product. However the main problem with these lithium ion type battery packs is the need to recharge the,I have the gb70 and after say 10 cranks requires complete recharging which can take anything upto 24 hours,I also have an old 700cca car battery that I keep charged up with a couple of old jumper cables that can endlessly crank over most engines and after say 2 hours on charge is back to new again.I must say happy Christmas ur doing a fantastic job and keep up the good work!!!

If you would have read the instructions you would have known that when you turned on the bypass with the clamps hanging freely you were in danger of creating a nasty short circuit if the clanps had touched. The bypass disables all safety devices on the unit....

Nice review, I got a new one of this, the manual says when fully charged the 100% green LED will stop pulsing and stay solid and the red 25%, red 50% and orange 75% LEDs should go off. Mine keep pulsing the 100% green LED even after 22hrs of being on 100% green. I'm just wondering if I've got a faulty one.

You can buy a wall charger but only from states huh!!! Or Amazon uk for £70 odd
@bas42414 жыл бұрын
You can't hurt the unit by starting without a battery on override. It is meant to work that way, and you kept saying it isn't designed to do that. Read the manual next time and you would know a lot of the things you keep saying "I don't know if it does or not". If you are just using on your own, that's one thing, but when doing reviews you owe it to the viewers and the manufacturer to read the instructions first so that you know what you are doing and can accurately assess the product. While your review turned out ok, I've seen reviewers on KZbin give lousy reviews on things when they were oblivious to key steps or features they knew nothing about. Not fair!

@@edgaraspavarde7233 yes I know it is expensive the only thing you can do with this one is swap it between the batteries leave it on for a few minutes but the problem is if one of the batteries is really really bad it won't work because you will need constant power on it

here is a fair test! good car starts but if my alternator is not working reason to boost ,how long would can you run it of the booster ? long enough to get to a shop!
@bodgitandleggitgarage5 жыл бұрын
Hi mate it's not really designed for that as it's got a lot of safety things built into if the alternator is put in any sort of charge into it it does not like any will shut down it's only designed to start the car and be taken off if you want to buy one and spend a lot of money on one and do this and destroy it just a waste of money in my opinion
