So you're in Michigan. Lots to do herr (my home state). By now you've learned about our mosquitos. Two words, bug repellant. Check put Mackinac Island (day trip, no cars & expensive rooms), the bridge & Mackinac City. Then drive down Lake Huron coast (has a very long stretch of open public access!). The Upper Peninsula is nice if you like forest wilderness. Check into ways to make money on the road. Happy travels.

Those little propane tanks are a pain (condensation) and can get expensive. If you can make room, consider getting a 20-pound tank (refillable) and a high-pressure hose adapter. Most camping stoves are compatible. (Sorry if this has already been mentioned; I don’t claim to have viewed all your comments.) Thanks for sharing your adventure!

@NomadicMovement7 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! The solar showers are fantastic. We usually just use the air conditioning built into the center console but if we're parked we open the windows, pop the ceiling emergency exit open, put the extractor fan on, and we also have a little low wattage fan we plug into our inverter.

@HockeyVictory667 жыл бұрын
Stay away from edibles. Very difficult to control dosing because it takes so long before you feel anything...but I guess you both just learned that. Don't bring any weed in the van either. A dope sniffing dog can find anything and you don't need any problems with the law.

Pretty cool vocals. Awesome guitar picking too. Should always use your own sound for your guys vids. Hey about the edibles - lol - so funny. Have them tho when you're chilling. It's up to the individual - but if your body reacts quite significantly to them and makes you do crazy stuff - I'd suggest to leave them alone. But if you know how to handle it and can control what you do - then ah well. Each to their own I guess but I wouldn't advertise it lol. Just saying - could get a lot of haters on here as I've read. So, shhhhh🤫😂.

weekend warrior When you eat weed, your body metabolizes THC into an analog that is something like four or five times stronger. Edibles are great if consumed in proper dosages, but they will absolutely kick your ass if you eat too much.

I hate to feel the need to bitch but it's not nice to soap up in any body of water regardless of the type of soap you are using. Last week I watched a van dweller do her laundry in a large bucket then dump the soap water in a small stream then rinse her clothes in that stream. Respect our mother as best you can. :)
@bonesonstones17 жыл бұрын
boy girl and a dad - this!!!! Meaning I agree, as eco-friendly as a soap might be, it does not belong anywhere except a grey tank.
@boygirlandadad58147 жыл бұрын
Vanessa H., yet at the same time even if a decent soap like dr. Bronners is used putting grey water into a holding tank turns it into black water in about 24 hours which is worse and much harder to get rid of properly. It is impossible for us not to leave a footprint. It is impossible. I don't know if what I do is the best when I'm at my offgrid cabin but I try. I really just try to be able to wipe clean the pots and pans I use for cooking. It is amazing how good a well seasoned cast iron pan wipes clean. Then I eat out of the pan or when there are more people I use paper plates and burn them later. Burning isn't so green and certainly has a footprint that isn't small. Yet in the winter I have a high efficiency wood stove going and to not burn doesn't make sense either. I make sure that what I cook I eat and in totality. Not throwing out any food is important to me. Really being careful not letting any food stuffs go down my drain is important to me. I do not have running water or a grey water system. Everything goes down my drain into a five gallon bucket and everything that goes into that bucket is strained pretty good. The grey water is thrown into the forest. So far I haven't seen any I'll effects nor have I ever had a bear or any other predator or scavenger show up. That alone is amazing since we have so many black bears, skunks, raccoons and the likes where my cabin resides. My grey water output is under 2 gallons a day. I know this because of the bucket that I empty under my sink. That includes a daily spongebath and a weekly sauna. Also I only wash my underwear and socks. Everything else just gets a soak, rung out in a mop wringer put on a clothes line and stays very clean. I do have a regular, modern, life where I do my laundry like normal and right now I have to have those conveniences due to my job and children's needs. In the winter I use my indoor composting toilet and stop using the outhouse. In the spring the outhouse is totally decomposed and the contents can be removed and disposed of like it was dirt. The used T.P. gets burned. (again not sure how ecofriendly that really is? But when the contents of the outhouse is removed it is just like dirt with no paper). My offgrid cabin is me about 3 days a week. In about 4 years, hopefully, I will be there full-time. We can't exist without leaving a mark but we should all be concerned with leaving as little or a mark as we can. We need to think locally like how I don't want to make the lake my cabin is on sick because I use those fish to give me life..... I'm sorry I'm really rambling and being preachy. We need to just be aware.
