It is a very powerful board with awesome sound quality. With the built in gates on the channels it will make your system quite quiet as well.

The usb/firewire card pulls the recording right off of the pre amps. Pre EQ, Pre processing and completely clean. It also puts the signal back at that same spot so you can do virtual sound checks. It's pretty sweet!

Just like envisionelec suggested making sure that your electric is clean is a very good idea. I have mine through a Furman AR-1220 Voltage Regulator that regulates the voltage at a very stable 120v. You can pick up a newer Furman AR-1215 or one of the older AR-1220 and I am sure that would help. If you are still having issues, contact Behringer as they are really good at getting right back to you now.

Yes there is a gain control for both the 32 main inputs and the 6 aux inputs. The 6 aux inputs have a -/+ 12dB I believe, and then the main inputs have much more range than that. The Aux ins are made for line level. Yes you can insert any of the effects racks on any of the channels inside the X32. For monitors I will make use of the 6 bands of parametric eq, and then if I need more I will insert a dual mono eq.

Great mixer. We were just shifting from a 16 channel analog to this one last Saturday. Luckily our sound engineer is familiar with Midas so it was good to go. A great pre amp and took him short hour to serve the church next day. I have a lot to learn but this mixer provide a great recording-playback immediately and very detail soundstage. love it

Pan pot is to the left of the LCD screen in the "Main Bus" section. Right above the stereo bus button. It is labeled Pan/Bal.

There is not a port for the display. However if you have a PC computer you can use the Behringer software (free) and connect that into the X32 to display the meters and even mix from the computer. You can have up to 10 devices connected to the X32 (iPads and/or computers) at one time and be able to adjust things simultaneously.

Well because your monitors are mono, you can insert two racks using the dual EQ's. Basically channel A of Rack 7 will be monitor 1, ch b of rack 7 will be monitor 2. Channel A of Rack 8 will be monitor 3 and B of rack 8 will be monitor 4. Then you can use a stereo EQ on the mains which would be one more rack in the EQ. So in total you would only use 3 of your 8 racks. I keep my monitors flat but just pull out any problem EQ spots. So the 6 band parametric EQ is enough for me!

If you take scene 1, then save that as scene 2 after making some volume adjustments, everything from scene 1 will copy over to scene 2 with the new vol adjustments. then if you make an EQ change and save that as scene 3 it will copy everything from scene 2 and add the EQ change you made. Does this make sense?

It was more likely a computer with the controller program running on it. There is no external monitor connection on the X32. You can download the program for PC off of Behringer's website.

Hi Drew Great videos Drew! You do a fantastic job & I commend you. I would think Behringer should buy up your videos and post them on their website because they don't cover the topics that you have since the boards release. I just purchased a X32 Producer (rack mount unit) & could really use your help with the following issue. I've tried another approach to my dilemma but I can't seem to get the results I want. My wife & I play in a duo and would like the mixer to be routed as it was with our Mackie 1604. The backing tracks need to be adjusted till I find the magic in level & EQ. Here's the scenario. #1 - Two Vocal mics are on channels 1 & 2 ( xlr inputs layer #1, 1 - 8 on my X32 Producer ) sent to > Mains & sent to > Mix Bus # 9 & 10 ( Mic 1 to monitor wedge #1, & Mic 2 sent to monitor wedge #2 ). Mix Bus 9 & 10 need to be routed to the XLR outputs 1 & 2. #2 - I have a stereo backing track coming in on the X-USB card via a laptop. I assigned Channels 3 & 4 ( L & R ) on Layer #1 ( 1 - 8 on my X32 Producer ) & that all works out fine sending the signal to the FOH Mains. #3 - I want to assign channel 3 & 4 ( stereo backing track ) to Mix bus layer 2, strip 11 & 12 > need to be routed to the XLR outputs 1 & 2 attached to our wedges. #4 - I want the ability to raise or lower the volume of strip 9, 10, 11, & 12 on layer 2 mix bus independant of one another without affecting the mains or using the sends on fader feature. #5 - I will also be sending a guitar signal coming from a guitar processor on channel 5 & 6 layer 1 input routed to the > Mains & > Mix Bus 9 & 10 along with the vocals. I'm trying to keep 1 layer on the input section always visible & one layer on the output section always visible and accessable so I can make quick adjustments for now. I elected to do it on the same layer where the effects sends are easily adjusted as well. so I hope I'm on the right track by doing this. We don't have a soundman so I need access to this in this way until I get it set & then not mess with it. * Output 9, 10, 11, & 12 on mix bus layer 2 are to be sent out of XLR 1 & 2. Strip 9 & 11 out of XLR 1 & strip 10 & 12 out of XLR 2. Can you please help me to achieve this? Please not the x32 Producer does not have 4 Aux sends that can be accessed unless you go to the screen. I don't even know where they are on the screen because the manual neglects to make reference to them. Cheers! Tele' O'Neil

Hey man, thanx for the nice vids! Do you have any pad knob for line levels on this console? Or you simply have to fix that on the DI? Can you insert a mono or stereo EQ's on auxiliaries to keep the monitors on stage from ringing? thanx in advance

Question: I have no issue recording instruments in Ableton but how on earth would you record voice in Ableton because the MAIN slider (at the very right) control both the input level in an Ableton track AND the volume of the sound = LARSEN effect (speakers are on!) . I just can't figure out how to disable the speakers when using headphones and the MAIN slider.

Drew, Thanks for your videos. They're great! Recently we discussed the "right" way to set up gain. There are two theories. One is to pull the faders down. And bring all gains to a certain level below 0dB (with help of the LED Meters). The other way is to put all channel and master faders on 0dB and then put the gain to a level where the individual instrument volume seems fine for FOH Mix. What's your opinion on this? Thanks and br Urs

Thanx for your reply. I will need basically at least 4 monitor groups which mean I'll need to insert a graph EQ on all 4 of them for tuning the stage (I will do with the X32 FOH and stage monitors at the samen time), and then i need a stereo graph EQ for the master output (for tuning the sound of the venue). In total 6 inserts thus. On video I only saw using 4 inserts at the same time. What? do you tune the monitors with parametric EQ? I've never done that. I hope i can route that

Hey thanks for your videos. However when setting a gain for a mic (or anything) you should always set your fader at '0' or unity or just below. Then move your gain. This will give you the most control over the Chanel and means young get no sudden pops or anything

Another thing I need to know is about recording. I want to use the X32 to record live concerts into my laptop. Are the 32 channel (digital) direct outs pre EQ or post EQ? I'd like to keep the sound source as clean as possible, therefore I don't want the sound to get colored by the X32 EQ. THis way i suppose i can do virtual soundcheck as well. Thanx in advance. I really appreciate.

How can we tell a feedback at certain Hz for a particular mic?
@DrewBrashler
@DrewBrashler 7 жыл бұрын
Great question Andy! There are a few apps out there for your phone that you can download, but you want to start training your ear to recognize the audio frequencies so that when you need to EQ something or attack a frequency feeding back you can know where to reach. Most of us can tell the difference between bass, mids and highs, but you can train your ear to recognize in even finer detail of what frequency needs to be adjusted. I have one method that I LOVE teaching. First take the gain for one of your EQ bands and boost it up, then adjust the frequency knob until you hear what you are wanting to remove get louder. Once you find it, take the gain down. We call it the search & destroy method!

how do connect my 24 mics and 15 drums to the x32 mixer
@johnnyd83
@johnnyd83 10 жыл бұрын
Basically... Kick mic Snare mic left overhead mic right overhead mic Guitar mic Bass guitar mic (or DI output) Vocal mic Again, this is a BASIC setup. This setup uses just 7 of the mixer's 32 inputs. Electric keyboards don't require a mic, just plug them straight into an input. A "line" input specifically, but I believe the X32 auto-detects a line-level input. More instruments and more singers = more inputs needed. 32 inputs is more than plenty for most bands. In regards to your 15 piece drum kit, in my opinion, using 15 mics to mic each piece of kit individually is major overkill and only complicates the mix needlessly....however....having 32 inputs makes it possible if one is so inclined and your sound guy is comfortable babysitting 15 faders for the drums alone.
