Came here to learn things about diet & strength, instead learned about aliens, parallel universe, military tech, computer stimulation, time travel lmao. It was a great podcast to listen. You guys should talk once in a while about these type of topics too. Its refreshing.

I’ve seen a lot of Justin Harris interviews and this was an amazing conversation. He’s so intelligent about so much more than diet and training. Great video.

OK... The simulation talk at the end.. Justin just said it so simply it made my brain almost implode. Scary shit. I've done alot of reading about this whole topic and listened to Sam Harris and Joe rogan speak about this. And different odes they have found from data from the universe. Really mind blowing freaky shit. This interview was fantastic. I've listened to this twice now and the first one on Scots twice. Pickup new stuff each time. 💪

I was fortunate enough to learn much from Justin when he was just starting DC training and posting as troponin. He's a wealth of info and one of the smartest guys in the business. Still can't believe your diet, Pete lol. I would have never have guessed you ate like that. Justin is right, that's a little thing called elite genetics.

This was a great episode indeed, probably my favorite after Chris Hickson! Only thing that I found to be a bit distracting was the photo in the middle of the screen from like 25:00 to 1:30:00.

Weird full circle, Elon Musk, Alex Jones, and Justin Harris have now mentioned simulations on a podcast. Super strange, I had a dream with Justin Harris asking me the last time I prayed 10 years ago, he leaves the fitness industry for several years, now he confirms that he is not religious, mind blown.

Guys this is a good podcast but it was ruined in several ways. Outstanding guest..but the next time someone with this knowledge is "nerding out" with your other host, but having a great conversation dropping lots of knowledge..dont interrupt. Also, with all due respect get your dog to shut up or put him in another room and stop reaching into a bag that is near the mic...it was like nails on a chalkboard. Podcasting 101 guys...you made a wonderful informative podcast unbearable at times with these annoyances. Here's to hoping you learn from it. Sorry if it sounded harsh but it's the truth.
@andyboy1985777774 жыл бұрын
sean hashemi dude it’s free knowledge. This kind of info would cost you serious money on a phone consultation or even coaching. Just absorb it. They’re not getting paid to make this into a high end quality production. They’re basically giving us a free bee here. Relax! But yes, the dog was a bit much lol I wonder if Pete ended up hiring Justin in the end! Things are gonna get nasty for Pete!

Eating low carb in off day and high carb in training day doesn't make sense to me. You are using glycogen in the muscles that's there from day or even two days before. So if you for example want muscles full of glycogen for leg day. You need to start carbing up at least day ideally 2 days before. The day of the workout it is to late. I would love to hear Justin what he has to say about that...
@matthewj96524 жыл бұрын
I find a similar approach works for me. On my off days, my appetite is actually higher than my training days. I like to increase total calories on rest day, and refeed the muscle as much as possible. By the time I’m back in the gym muscle glycogen is restored.
@jirihutecka90204 жыл бұрын
@@matthewj9652 Of course. Common sense.. :) It makes no sense to eat a lot when you train and starve when you are home resting and your body needs calories to recover..
@barryhudson124 жыл бұрын
But you’re probably not slamming insulin
@justinharris64643 жыл бұрын
It’s to maximize the hypertrophic benefits of the training, not maximize the performance of the training. It’s like drinking Gatorade during cardio. It will improve your cardio performance but could reduce fat burning. If you’re doing the cardio to burn fat, then you don’t want the Gatorade. If you want to improve your performance, then you want the Gatorade. The high days on training days is to maximize muscle protein synthesis/hypertrophy from the training, not necessarily maximize the performance of the session.
@jirihutecka90203 жыл бұрын
@@justinharris6464 ok. But in my mind more glycogen in the muscles = better training(strength, endurance, pump) means also better growth.. :)

32:35 he just said deal with high blood pressure by using medication? How about keep your weight down, its not worth being huge and strong if you're gonna get high blood pressure and screw your arteries/vessels imo, not good to rely on medication.

In the context of having to stay a certain weight to be competitive In a strength sport because that is your main priority then it’s perfectly sound advice
@michaeleerdmans35004 жыл бұрын
For people who want to be heavy and strong and compete, it is worth it. Think of all the strongmen who are 300+ pounds, often times it's their jobs to compete and be that heavy, so just take the meds. I
