I suffered with really bad gum disease for 3 years, after oil pulling for 20 mins a day for 6 days a week over the course of the past 3 months my gum disease has gone and also I have noticed my sinuses have cleared. This is the results I have found using pure coconut oil. The reason I only do it for six days instead of the full week is because I was advised to have a one day break from it every week to get the full benifit's.

I was experiencing some pain in one of my molar teeth and my dentist told me that he thought I had a dental infection and prescribed a mouthwash, which did nothing to relieve the pain. I went to the endodontist only to find out that my husband's dental insurance did not cover endodontic treatment. Since I did not have the monies to cover the treatment I resorted to oil pulling. The pain started to subside with each oil pulling session and was gone before one week had passed. I mixed my coconut oil with baking soda and peppermint oil. It has worked for me. For months prior to experiencing pain in my molar, I had stopped brushing with a fluoride toothpaste, but I was still rinsing with Listerine-type mouthwash mixed with a small amount of hydrogen peroxide. Once I started oil pulling, I stopped using the fluoride free toothpaste, stopped using the prescription mouthwash, and did not return to using the Listerine/hydrogen peroxide rinse. I started brushing my teeth with coconut oil, baking soda, and peppermint oil (in different ratios than I use for oil pulling). Each time I would try going back to my old toothpaste and mouthwash, the pain would start to return so I cut it out all together. This lets me know that I am not cured but the oil pulling and DIY toothpaste is DEFINITELY keeping things at bay. Hopefully, I will be able to remove the tooth next year. No more root canals for me. I have learned recently that there can be long term consequences of root canal treatment (Now they tell me! I wish I had know this years ago!).

Ruth Ferguson Ever since I had my root canal done I'v noticed my cycle was off balanced just a weird coincidence or maybe there is a link idk but definitely thinking of getting my root canal removed.
@babethebuilder17 жыл бұрын
Ruth Ferguson I am thirty three and I got my first two root canals at nineteen. Six years later I needed two more, then the dentist I was seeing did his famous cancel on me the day of my appointment and he did it when I quad stopped to go back to have the root canal he started crowned. The temporary filing came out five days after so I had a huge hole in my tooth and it was sawed down too, your supposed to go back two weeks later when they get the crown in from where they send the mold of your tooth to. Then he cancelled on me AGAIN.. Five weeks of a partially done root canal and one day shopping half my tooth broke off completely out of no where! It was a top side tooth the third one over from my front top teeth so you can see it when I smile. I was so pissed he had to remove the rest of the tooth and said it wasn't his fault! My stupid ass let him pull three other teeth and do another TWO root canals. One he didn't finish and did the same canceling shit on new he'd done before. But this time I stole some of the temporary filing (it's called cavit) from his office in case I lost the temporary filing again. Which I did so I packed that tooth with it and it was like temporary concrete, and when I put it in the hike it lasted a month for me! Longer than for him! But then I got sick of his crap and didn't go back for four months,i was trying to find another dentist but no one would do it if another dentist started it bc they couldn't get paid for it bc he charged my insurance fur the woke prices before ever doing it (which is bullshit when I never got the crown and lost my tooth the last time and he got paid for something he didn't finish!) Then I started getting a real bad toothache in that tooth and eventually I HAD to go back to him bc he started it. I didn't want to lose that tooth since I had few back teeth now due to him taking them all out (and I had perfect teeth before those root canals! Few fillings in my mouth at all!) But I ended up getting an infection deep into the hole (the nerve or root?) Of the tooth from passing that temporary filing in it. Days before my appointment I was messing with my tooth and pulled this long gross dead rat tail looking thing out of my tooth. I thought it was the nerve or a tendon or something, come to find out it was the cotton he packed my tooth with when he started the root canal four months prior and all the cavit stuck to it looked like pieces of concrete suck to the length of the cotton! That was in my mouth for four months! So.. Had to have it pulled. Then I got an infection in one of the crowned teeth he said he did a root canal in four months after having it done, so I went back, he said it was just crowned not a root canal in getting off my dad which pissed me off bc he TOLD me it was a root canal! I didn't think you COULD crown a tooth without a root canal! And I asked why it got infected so soon after he crowned it and he sad sometimes they go bad and shook his head all caring like in front of my dad who brought me I bc I was ibn so much pain i couldn't even drive! It was that bad!. Then he pulled THAT one. Then the one above it a month later. Every year for three years from October to about February I would start to get really bad infections in my teeth and he'd pull them. He promised me last time my insurance would pay for both a left side lower partial and right side upper partial and if they didn't heed swallow the cost himself. Well my insurance denied the top one and there's more teeth musing on that sue so I don't get it! But then the last time I went to see hun he did a few small white facial filings on my front top and bottom teeth that started getting small homes at the gum line and a few months later I got the worst infection I'd ever had in my front top tooth. The very front one! Couldn't get any dentist to get me in without then telling me I had to wait THREE weeks to be seen bc they didn't know if it would need a root canal our not until they got me in and started doing the actual tooth and I was in so much pain and nobody could fix it. The place that told me to wait THREE weeks told me to call everyday to see if someone called and if I could come in, one day I called two minutes after they opened and they said they were ALREADY fun so the next day I called one minute BEFORE and the day answers at suffer o'clock in the dot then immediately puts me on hills for fifteen minutes and hit back on to say they were full, I lost it at that point bx I called before anyone else and they put me I fucking hold so long that's why they were full! So I argued my case and said I was going to call the dental association over all of this and they told me to come in by noon. I got there before noon only to Suu and wait an hour and a half in excruciating pain. Then they called me to the front and said they COULD NO LONGER SEE ME "bc I called another dentist they worked with and made an appt with them that day"!????!!!! If I had an appt somewhere else that day then why would I be THERE!!!!!?????? I flipped and made a scene and the lady had me fui back to her office all their other clients didn't hear me (yeah I'll bet) and I said I'm recording this so go ahead, I called the other dentist they tried saying told them that AND THEY said they couldn't call then cuz they closed at noon Thad day but funny how I called and hit thru to then at one o'clock ibn my car and they said no that place called us and told us you might have to come here to have your root canal done bc we do root canals for them,. I drove right back to them and said you fucking liars, you said they were closed, that I made an appt there and I called them they answered and wee not closed and they said YOU GUYS CALLED THEM TO SEE IF I COULD GO THERE FOR THE ROOT CANAL YOU TOLD ME THAT YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNEW YET I NEEDED AND I HAD TO WAIT THREE WEEKS TO BE SEEN TO FIND OUT! I said I clearly have an infection, it's been two weeks since I saw you three weeks since this starred and not once have you given me any antibiotics! Nothing not even a pain medicine! Nothing! they told me to leave bc I was disrupting their office! Yeah I bet cuz you don't want your patients to hear how you really are! You lied to me, let me sit here for almost two hours and then tell me you can't see me and lied about me making an appt with a place that only does root canals by referral anyways so I couldn't have made an appt! I left there in years in so much pain. I want to the er bc I was so swollen and hurting AND THEY gave me antibiotics thru am if and a script for them too. But that night I stayed at my mom's and went to bed with her praying over me, it was the only thing that called the pain, I'm dead serious here. Crazy as it sounds! I woke up at four in the morning and my entire left side of my face was swollen up to my eye and look bruised luge I was beat with a baseball bat! I ended up hospitalized for two days bc I had a very very bad infection and I had a huge black blister (they called it something else) the day I was released right before I went inert the bathroom and my upper lip was so swollen it was pushing against that blister and I lifted my lip to look at it and it popped and all this grits yellow liquid puss burst out and was dripping into my mouth!! The next day I had to drive to Iowa state university dental college and they did a root canal on it and the one next to it was dead too now and they did that one too. All bc the first dentist didn't remove all the debris or infection or whatever when he did three small gumline filling and it caused it to be infected inside the tooth with the filing trapping it inside! Then they said the I've he has crowned that went "bad"and he pulled four months after he did it probably was due to the same thing! I won't go back to him now not even for the free partial! He ruined my mouth and teeth all in seven years! I'm thirty three with eighteen teeth left now! If you want to see how bad I looked last February when I was hospitalized I have a picture of it on my Instagram (it's @duchessofmakeup) it's crazy what I looked like over a infected tooth! I almost lost my top front tooth at thirty three! Now my question is I still have problems with my teeth at the gum line always breaking off or getting little holes and the three root canals left in my mouth, actually no it's for my bad, have caused cavities in the teeth beside them. Except two of them bc they have no teeth beside them now! Thanks to retard! But I did pull pulling about two years ago and I had a few small fragments of my teeth break off that same day so I'm scared to do it again. Just like whitening my teeth does the same. Does anyone know why and if I should attempt to try again?

Saved a lot of pain and money from the dentist; I don't plan to see one any time soon. Bacteria is semi-soluble in oil, so that's why the oil get's rid of the germs. Love the vid, Homie and that you present both sides of the fence with sources to mitigate bias. A couple of KEY THINGS to understand that were not mentioned here: It's not about the swishing... its that bacteria LOVES fat. They are attracted to oily substances. They cling to it. So the idea of oil pulling is that the bacteria sticks to the oil as you swish it around, gargle, and even just hold in your mouth. Then when you spit it out, the oil “pulls” the bacteria out of your mouth. 2 things: the longer the oil is in your mouth, the more bacteria it pulls, suggesting it be in your mouth from 5-20 minutes (i do it for 5-10). So you move on to getting ready for work (or bed) while holding -swishing and gargling periodically. The second key is to rinse out your mouth with water a few times upon spitting out the oil. General frequency recommended: Every night for 1-2 weeks. then every other night 1-2 weeks then 2x-3x per week indefinitely (every couple nights or so regularly). (I recommend Coconut Oil -it is sweet and other oils are kinda gross tasting) Since gut health starts with the mouth. And bacteria in the mouth affect the climate in the gut. You won't "feel" different, per say, but your body will perform different, netabolize more efficient, PH balance will be different (which can affect mood and psychologic stabilization), and a slew of other things... allegedly, right!

Great comment! Thank you so much for sharing your experience! So one thing lots of people have been commenting here is whether or not you should brush your teeth AFTER oil pulling. Personally I enjoyed that fresh feel and having the coconut oil base still on my teeth after rinsing several times. Do you believe brushing post-pulling removes this protective barrier and just to rinse with water is the best thing? What is your opinion/view on this?
@achriscity6 жыл бұрын
After oil pulling, I would rinse with distilled water to get all the bacteria out. Then if you want, swish 1/2 tsp of coconut oil over teeth for "protection" and spit out residue or swallow. The coconut oil should be cleaner the second time :-) It would be interesting to do a scientific experiment on the effects of different oils on teeth that have been removed. For example will coconut oil dissolve tartar more than olive oil after 15 minutes, after 30 minutes, overnight, after a week, etc.

Dentists have said that I'm in need of fillings as well as a couple of root canals. Well, I've been taking the Clindamycin antibiotic since Saturday (5 days), and after a nap I noticed that my right upper molars and lower molar teeth were sensitive and gums felt a bit swollen. I decided to do some organic coconut oil pulling for about 15 minutes. That was the best decision I could have made at the moment towards getting some comfort and relief. This WORKS, I promise you! Just fyi- oil pulling came from India and it is not just ‘folk’ whatever. It is an ancient detox process. Besides that the word ‘dental’ and the whole concept of teeth care came from India too. ‘Dent’ means gums in Sanskrit, an ancient Indian language that is the basis for many Indo-European languages.

Well said. Why would someone want to decrease their income by letting the world know that they can do much better at home with a very inexpensive and safer product? I don't trust everything that is published before I actually try it myself. I have not tried the oil pulling as often as you did, only once a day, but the result amazed me. My teeth and gums became much more stronger and whiter as well as my breath odour has changed. Your speech was very entertaining and informative. Normally I would feel sleepy and go on to something else but your videos are different. Especially your facial expression cracked me where you stared at the barking dog trying to figure out what happened...Post more videos please. :)

Water is probably just as good and better than mouthwash. Mouthwash kills perfectly fine and even helpful bacteria, if it has alcohol it also play terror on your mouths natural mosture. I love that you touch on the fact that many people see benefits with things they try because they are finally doing something rather then treating their body like a dumpster. I liken this to people reviewing spark-plugs. People will rant and rave that their new spark plugs are the best things ever, but fail to think about the fact the the ones they were replaced were just shot. Their "upgrade" may not have been any better than any other plug. They were just going from a worn out plug to one that was not worn out. In the same way if you don't take care of yourself and then adopt just about anything that make you pay attention to you body you will probably do better. Gluten-free diets have tons of people spreading the word that they were allergic to gluten, but more that likely they just plan had too many carbs in their diet and not enough fiber and protein. Their avoidance of breads and other Gluten sources had just happened to balance them out and now they are feeling better.

This is the smartest comment yet. I just heard about oil pulling and agree with you.
@johnlibonati7807 Жыл бұрын
Agree with everything but the gluten part. It’s straight up poison, whether you’re talking about lectins or the amino acid chains that infiltrate your intestinal lining, open the tight junctions by their own mechanism and instigate an immune reaction that leads to inflammation and malabsorption. It has nothing to do with carbs. That’s just what the health industry wants you to think so you keep ingesting it.

Same goes for nearly everything. Where there's money to be made we're lied to. The studies telling us what foods are good for us (animal products like meat, eggs & dairy) when they tell us that milk is good for you you've gotta consider the source & in that instance it'd be the dairy companies because in reality dairy is shockingly terrible for our health. We're all being lied to, it's really sad.

Word, humans cannot be completely objective. I started oil pulling this past Saturday. I've been grinding my teeth for four years in my sleep (stress as a student). It was getting very painful and out of hand. The oil pulling has for some reason prevented me from doing that. Lol and I was just doing this to whiten my teeth. My sore throat was onsetted immediately. Not only that, but the coconut oil broke me out. No surprise, coconut oil doesn't like me too much anyway. I switched to Unrefined Virgin Sunflower Oil. Sore throat is gone (may return, who knows) and my face isn't reacting. Lol. You Probably didn't care to read that. Take care 😊

hi there! cutting back may be a good idea, however if you feel like the break is about to be over - try to switch to cana with different thc levels; after over 5 years of constant use I started to experinment with many different kinds and noticed that not every cana will be good for you. After some, I remember feeling like you described. This didn't go away after training, only sauna helped. In my opinion - you must find the plant that has your energy (don't laugh). We are all different and if the plant is not paired properly with you, it will only bring you harm. There are different kinds to help you sleep, other one just to help you chill, other to help you be energetic and creative (yeep, these kinds also exist), another will be a good companion when you watch a film etc. My friends enjoy bubble kush from indica family. Energetic, vibrant, creative and chilling. This cana is very close to medical one but don't mistake it with it;) love n peace!

Regarding the inhaling of oil particles I read before that wiping the oil inside each nostril is good to help purify air and can reduce getting colds or dryness. Is great to do on airplane flights... but here is the personal observation I learned. My kids ages 6 and 7 when they got a stuffy nose I thought I would try it, so I have them lie down, lean the head back and I put a drop in each nostril and ask them to sniff... they couldnt sniff at first, but in seconds the nose opened right up and clear. I have done it myself, I also use it to clean my ears, and I swallow a teaspoon before meals... I really like CC oil. Women with vaginal yeast infections can dip a tampon in the oil and insert over night, it kills candida very fast... and is safe, can also be used for a lubrication instead of KY if needed.... So in conclusion the comment about inhaling while brushing... I dont buy that one.

john hamms I hope no woman listens to you and actually sticks a coconut oil filled tampon in her overnight. Inserting a tampon overnight is very harmful and puts you at risk for toxic shock syndrome, even if you use organic tampons with no bleached materials. It even says on the box that tampons should not be used overnight. Toxic shock syndrome is very dangerous and kills women everywhere. Do not tell women to do things when you’re not fully educated on what you’re telling them.
@niadumas38686 жыл бұрын
Chiara Coffman it definitely depends on how long you sleep. Just keeping it in overnight isn’t the issue. The amount of time that it is in is what matters. You’re not supposed to leave it in for more than 8 hours.

I'm sorry to say that but your "proof" pictures are the worst example that you could use. Look at the picture from day1 and compare it with the picture from day 11 BUT don't look at your teeth just at your lips and skin arround. It's NOT your teeth that are whitened, it's the PICTURE, the lightening or bad Photoshop. The WHOLE picture from day1 is yellow - your lips are yellowish, your gums are yellowish, your skin arround, so your teeth are yellow too. At the picture from day11 EVERYTHING is more bright - including your lips and skin arround. So don't show us pictures like this because this not the proof at all. I'm sorry. I love coconut oil pulling method, but I don't like when someone is using pictures like that. Take picture with EXACTLY the same light, don't use Photoshop and THEN show us result.

I disagree. Did both for a long time and the benefits of olive oil were tremendous. I also enjoy it much more than coconut for it is thicker. Also I noticed more detox effects after olive oil. While coconut oil was a bit too soft and I wasn't feeling like it helps. I think that switching from one to another (maybe also with sesame oil) from time to time will be a good idea. They are to different to compare... but surely it is much easier to start with coconut. Peace n love

But I hope you will take more pictures down the road because these three has different background lighting. it`s clearly noticable on the lips. you should take the next picture in the same place at the same time of day as the first one. using the same light source.

yeah unfortunately this experiment was still very early on in my documentation Journey. I didn't have any lights for recording so whenever I did an update for my teeth I just went to the same window at the same time. of course with different weather/clouds this really manipulated the photos but I personally did not manipulate the photos with editing or Photoshop. Besides this though, I think you can still notice changes in my teeth and gums. next time I do this experiment I will ensure I do it with perfect lighting

@@HungarianExperiment I understand, and believe you. I actually thought that the weather might have had an impact. I think maybe such pictures become more accurate taken at night under a fixed light. Stll good to hear about your experience though. Best of luck on future experiments :)
