On My Radar: Nintendo Direct 9-13-22

That Nintendo Direct 3 weeks ago was bittersweet wasn't it? There's some good stuff in there, definitely have my eyes on some of those titles. But they just couldn't help but have some little details that ended with a "ahh man".
I know, I'm late again on this. I've had family over, my Gamecube stopped reading discs, redid some of the radar designs and tags. But with this long overdue video done, I'm getting back to scripting, recording and editing lists, reviews, the first Game Gauntlet video, and a few other videos I've had on my mind. Enjoy. :)

Overall speaking, direct was great. Loads of titles covering a variety of genres, new FE, Pikmin 4, Radiant Silvergun returning after a 10 year absence form its 360 port, Octopath Traveler II, Return to Dreamland Remake, loads of ports coming for N64 Online, Tears of the Kingdom, and Farming absolutely conquering everything. I dont personally have an attachment to a large chunk of these games but I know plenty of people who were excited for them, and Im glad there was a good pool to pull from this time around.

Pikmin 4 was hands down the most exciting announcement for me, but Bayonetta, Zelda, and Fire Emblem also look great.

Ironic this drops the same day as the Mario Movie poster (2 days before Twitter becomes more of a volcano due to hearing Star Lord's voice coming out of Mario).

So excited to see a video from you, CJ (I couldn’t click the thumbnail fast enough when I saw it). I really enjoyed this Direct with Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and Fire Emblem Engage being my highlights. I’ve always wanted to get into Pikmin so picking up Pikmin 4 would probably be a good entry point for me. Definitely agree with you about Pokemon Stadium coming to Switch Online, the main charm of the games was always transferring and using the Pokemon you caught and raised yourself. Looking forward to seeing future videos from you. God bless.

I didn't have any copyright issues with my own coverage but I went with more of a vlog style. Fire emblem engage: please for the love of God don't have a self insert. Bayonetta 3: Yes. Just yes. Pikmin 4: that's why I started a Pikmin 3 LP. Octopath 2: maybe. Remakes of Kirby, tales of, and rune factory. Yes.

My hypest game would have to be the new Theatrhythm. I loved Curtain Call and Melody of Memory, and this looks absolutely packed with content. Also looking forward to Kirby and Mario and Rabbids.

If I was in the voice overs for this one it would have probably just been me yelling WOOOOOOOOOO for 15 seconds straight over the N64 NSO games since the N64 Mario Party games are very beloved by me, with Mario Party 2 being my favorite game of all time

I was expecting you to be very excited for Tales of Symphonia remaster and while I'm happy, its almost redundant for me to get it when that game is in my backlog on PS3 unless something bad happens to my copy or console is when I'll get it maybe, but I was excited to see Return to Dreamland getting a remake, that's on my radar besides the new FE game(that gives me more reason to beat all of 3H) and was happy Xenoblade 3 content was acknowledged given that I thought it would be left under the rug especially since it was small compared to the other stuff but my thoughts on this direct was honestly pretty good especially since they have more to offer than just 2 big games, looking at you State of Play, I may look forward to Tekken 8 or GoW Ragnorok but it's not enough to salvage it

@@fictionfan0 Let me put it to you this way. The Pokemon games changed how the Game Corner works in HGSS for outside of Japan, and never had a Game Corner again starting with Gen 5. This is because PEGI would have rated the games in the 12 category- the equivalent of the ESRB's T- instead of 7, the equivalent of E. This would impact the sale of the games, considering how the games are generally geared towards children. Now, the Game Guy has a full-on casino theme. This includes all-or-nothing stakes with minigames that emulate real-world gambling. Mario Party is _also_ a series marketed towards kids. You do the math.

Despite never playing a Zelda game, tears of the kingdom looks really cool. Pikmin 4 is really cool but it’s not for me. Kirby return to dreamland is what I’m most looking forward to due to living the game as a kid

honestly I actually thought the direct was a pretty great one! then again it was heavy on the rpgs and farm sims, so as an enjoyer of lifesims and one with rpgs as my lifeblood i ate pretty damn well. Octopath II is 100% at the top of the wishlist

Not a whole lot from me, honestly. This direct felt like it was giving more attention to life/farm sims, and I typically don't go for that. Some things that are my radar, though: Octopath Traveller II: Love the original, and it's supposed to improve/enhance what made that game good. Ib: I don't know what it is, maybe something about its presentation just makes me want to know more. I've heard it's good, though. RAIN CODE: I'm not a fan of Danganronpa--I don't like death games as a premise, less so when the victims are forced to execute (no pun intended) those deaths. But a more typical mystery game while keeping Danganronpa's style? Heck yes! Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: Do I even need to elaborate? Couple others I'm slightly leaning towards: Various Daylife: Didn't show much, but what they showed intrigued me to want to know more. Disney Speedstorm: Hey, who doesn't like Disney characters?

That too, just choose the version you want to play and go with it. But I forget is there a way to store pokemon in the game (besides the team thing) that you can add to the game so you can trade between them?

@@cjszero01 There was no direct transfer of Pokemon to Stadium. AFAIK the first external storage for Pokemon was Pokemon Box Ruby and Sapphire.
