Compare Billy’s videos to the half-hearted traditional DIY shows we’ve always watched on tv. You can see the massive difference in quality, taste, planning and execution. Add in the amazing camera work and editing and I see this project featured on the BBC or in the US, PBS. 🌺

True. As much as I would love that to happen for both Alex and the Pethericks, I know all too well that, once something hits the big league, everything changes, usually for the worse - from my point of view. They would be gaining perfect production but they would lose all the charm that unscripted, spontaneous, amateur production has. It's like comparing polished and organic finish of the wood. There are positives and negatives in both, depending on preference. I'd rather watch them as they are now. There are more than enough generic shows out there. They are authentic and natural, although well thought out - perfectly balanced when it comes to quality of camera work, choice of music and organic character of the content and interaction.

Loving the progress! My hubby and I have binge watched the entire Convent reno. We were finally up to date a few weeks ago. We really feel that in the reception area you should frame out and highlight a section of the original stonework. It's amazing and would be it's own piece of artwork!

I have had some sort of crud since Christmas Eve. Take your time healing, it might take you a few more days than you think. Maybe Alex can do a video of the outside and label the kitchen, dining room and library. In relation to the full building. This is such a huge project it takes a whole lot of thought and planning to bring this whole thing together. It’s daunting to think about it as a whole. But with your skills together with the rest of the family skills this is going to award winning. You do have a talent for bringing in top notch craftsmen.

You will be able to remove the first layer of wall . Use a skill saw set to cut most of the way though. So you can remove it, in squares.

I live in Puerto Rico and I had no idea how prevalent the name Yanes is here. It’s used a a first name, a last name, a name of a town, a name of a singing group, and a restaurant. Needless to say, the Corsicans did settle here and grew coffee and other crops in the early 1800ds. There are still many Corsicans here that travel back and forth from Corsica.

Billy, regarding the large room which you plan to divide, you should consider a retractable wall. Having a large room available will make your convent attractive as a site for larger events.
