Tim, I put the mats down in the gym, the kids loved it. I had a hard time rolling but I will get better.

I was injurerd during the birth process which left my right arm without nerves to feed some of the muscles (brachial plexus) so I have very limited motion in that shoulder and elbow. I'm 60 now and I have a lot of chronic pain and arthritis in my neck that stemmed from this injury. My point is that I can't do a lot of these movements because they require a symmetrical body. What a lot of therapists don't get is an exercise they give to a healthy person can not only not help me but it can make it worse because other muscles compensate and are overworked, throwing me even more off balance. It's a vicious circle.

These movements, what we share on this channel are for everyone, not just symmetrical people. Truth is hardly anyone is symmetric. But anyway, The key is to start where you are and do what you can. You can certainly find gold in the breathing and head control playlists on this channel. You may even find relief and freedom in your body.

Hey Tim, I have been reading and using your book and enjoying the ideas. I like the emphasis on crawling but do you feel that there needs to be some posterior chain work to balance out the crawling work? When I crawl my quads are destroyed but I don't feel much if any hamstring or glute work. What would you recommend for this area (from the OS perspective)?
@OriginalStrengthSystem
@OriginalStrengthSystem 8 жыл бұрын
Hey Jared. Thanks for connecting. Crawling actually does work the posterior chain very well. Especially the postural muscles of the back. The gluteus and hams do get plenty of work too as they are the drivers, but yes, you will feel the quads more. But, if you crawl under load - dragging a chain or sled - you may be able to feel more glute and ham activation more. But rest assured, you are working your posterior. Thanks again for reaching out! Please keep in touch and let me know how you're doing.

yabba yuya Matthew, I really do beleive OS will greatly help you with yours squat and balance. Infact,we use the squat as a guage for how OS works inside of our workshops. I have seen 100s of "squat miracles". keep us posted on how you do! Let us know if we can help you more. - Tim

Hello. I have been trying to research what OS actually is. Is it a program that one can follow and incorporate alongside their weekly kettlebell program? Or is it just for children?
@OriginalStrengthSystem
@OriginalStrengthSystem 3 жыл бұрын
It’s for anyone and it does easily fit with a kettlebell program. It can even make the kettlebell program more enjoyable and efficient as well. Here is a great place to start: Pressing Reset: Original Strength Reloaded: www.amazon.com/Pressing-Reset-Original-Strength-Reloaded/dp/1944878750/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3D7SZ0HEFJG1A&dchild=1&keywords=pressing+reset+original+strength+reloaded&qid=1618530319&sprefix=Pressing+reset%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-1

@@OriginalStrengthSystem Thank you for your response. A big thumbs up for the whole concept. Thanks for all the videos. Is Tim's physique purely an outcome of the original strength movements?
@OriginalStrengthSystem
@OriginalStrengthSystem 4 жыл бұрын
I (Tim) like to think so. OS is a part of my daily life and has been since 2010. I will add that OS also makes all movement better and easier, so if you enjoy bodyweight exercises (like i do) or weight training, OS makes those things easier. Lots of rolling, rocking, crawling, Hindu Squats, Hindu Pushups, and hanging can go a long long ways to building the body you want to have. BUT so can envisioning it. If you can see what you want in your mind and believe it is yours, that may be the trump card. I hope this helps.

@@OriginalStrengthSystem I did not expect you (Tim) to be replying to the comments. I really appreciate it. Will you be able to guide the viewers on how to make OS into a full-fledged routine. Keeping in mind how a gym workout is usually structured and well planned. How can we have a clear structure in mind? Thanks a lot for your responses :)

So, I’ve actually done that in each of my books. I’m not trying to get you to buy them, I’m just letting you know that content is available and thought out as much as possible. From how to implement OS as your only training program, to combining OS with traditional weight training, to OS and calisthenics, to OS and kettlebells, to OS and military preparations and whatever other training modality or intent you can think of. Each book has a different area of focus. The most broad would be Pressing RESET: Original Strength Reloaded. We’ve even got free training PDFs somewhere on our site: OriginalStrength.net. I’ll see if I can find where those are.
