I paused the video when you said so and did 20 reps (10 per side, got to work my way up) when you said so, and I can already say this is an amazing exercise.

I've been doing these for a while and it creates mega strength. Go really slow and feel the difference.

I agree. Going slow takes more strength & builds muscle.

Love it! I can finally lift myself up on opposite limbs after trying 4/5 years.…and now I can pull my other leg below me and can stand up. My favorite movement …

Excellent video! Just stopped and did those sets of 20 at 2:00. That worked up quite the burn! Felt great. I'm going to have to work this movement into my kettlebell and bodyweight routine.

Great stuff and not silly at all! It is so important, also in danger situations, to be able to stand up from the ground very quickly. But also to catch a frisbee 😉

"I know its silly" Its not silly at all, what you do is invaluable as if breaks down move by move how to regain basic fundamental movements many of us have let get away from us. Great job Sir!

Good stuff. MovNat calls those the Tripod Transition and Tripod Get Up. BJJ had some variations of these. AnimalFlow has a stylized take on the pattern. I’ve always found that the really good central movements are present in a wide variety of systems in different “flavors” if you will.

Came here earlier for Hindu pushups and squats (which I do everyday grease the groove style) and now I've found the core work to tie it all together. Thank yo for your content, sir.

This is in my workout routine. Looks like you could use a kettlebell in the freehand to increase its physical development potential.
@OriginalStrengthSystem2 жыл бұрын
You could. You could also use ankle weights, weight vests, and other tools to add loads to different parts of your body. Each would be a cool discovery waiting to happen.

Really inspiring how you come up with these creative movements! Moreover, I would like to ask you how to make sure I have done a movement correctly. Personally, I just watch videos like this one and try to imitate the movement , but I may end up with a slightly different technique than in the video. Is that OK? I feel like, as long as I don’t feel any pain and feel good afterwards, everything is alright.
@OriginalStrengthSystem4 жыл бұрын
Everything is alright! Yes! Just move where you can and explore - no wrong way, unless you are trying to force movement you don’t yet have or you are moving into pain. You’ve got it!

I just started with level 1, and I can only do 10 each side right now. You didn't warn me that it would also fire up the glutes. 😀😃🙂🙃 Edit I just did a personal record of 31 rocking push-ups. Aiming for that 50.

The glutes are an extra bonus! And congratulations on the 31 rocking pushups! That’s no joke! Great work!
