I missed out on the original way back in 2015 (wasn't into wrist watches then), so I think this release is for people like me. Definitely enjoying mine, and having no real experience handling the original I'm perfectly happy. 😀 Thank you for sharing your experience with the watch!

The OG is still the best but unfortunately they are getting to the age they all need servicing now

Oris fan here, love them both. I like Oris being an independent watch company.

So many people don't understand that most of the companies are part of the big 4 watch groups were Oris and a few other stand apart as independents

Seeing them side-by-side, I'm realizing I really like the older model a lot more. The black-edged bezel is much better looking and I love the way the date is implemented, which is an improvement on the way the date was handled on the 1965 originals. As they're otherwise identical in size, same bracelet, same Sellita movement, etc, this feels like the new version is giving us less while asking for more money. I do prefer the OG Oris logo on the newer model but it's such a subtle difference that it's easily overlooked.
@ClickSpringReview12 күн бұрын
The original date placement at 3 would of ruined the dial as you say, being at 6 on the OG you almost don't even see its there which makes it prefect
@Bennie_Bee68 күн бұрын
Agree completely re the black bezel edge. I hadn't noticed it was missing on the new update until I saw Barry's first video when it was released.
@Bennie_Bee68 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for doing the comparison with the OG Barry. Only getting to watch it now. Really glad I waited as I've decided to keep my gen 1 (same one as yours but on the original tropic). Both versions are great but having watched your comp video, I don't think there's enough difference in the update to justify a swap/upgrade. Also I think I'd miss the date on my version.
@ClickSpringReview7 күн бұрын
I fully agree the OG is still the one to have only downside is being the age they are they are all going to need servicing soon thats why I did mine last year ps Bennie are you subscribed yet :)
@Bennie_Bee67 күн бұрын
@ClickSpringReview I am indeed subscribed. I've been a subscriber to your channel for ages and have probably watched at least 200 of your vids including all the Sinns. One of my sons uses my log on as I have YT premium so he keeps changing my name and Avatar/Profile pic every 6 months or so. I need to get him his own YT Account. Love the channel and always look forward to new updates! Keep up the great work

I love the new no date version. Opposite of what many have said…the date was always a deal breaker for me. This new dial is so much cleaner.

Great review and comparison! Enjoyed all your videos on this new reference. I have the previous version and love it but considering adding this one since it improves some things and has the better font and dial. Question for you, is the tone of the fauxtina markers yellower in the new one or is it the same?

Very nice. Still think I prefer the old one except for the tiny details of the text. Normally prefer no date but the first version blended that in so well.

People will complain about the price for almost anything unless it’s a watch for the top 0.1% of earners. I think the rrp is fine compared to what other big brands are doing. The good news for us consumers is that the UK market is in a shambles and good discounts can be had

Love it but it wears too big for the size, should've made it 38mm and kept that fully black bezel and date. Maybe in a near future...
@ClickSpringReview12 күн бұрын
A 38mm non date model may of worked but with the big front the dial might of lost some of its charm, You can get a standard 65 in 38mm but not with this dial layout

This one i need to try o my wrist, I always liked this original dial layout. And the no date works better for me On a sidenote, Hodinkee says its 46mm lug to lug. Everyone else says 48. Its not the first time I've noticed descrepancies between reviews. The big H hasn't been exactly in its prime for a while

I find most of the big reviewers NEVER measure the watch and just copy and paste the manufacturer details thats why I always check and give the true dimensions Sir

If I could swap the bezel from the new watch to the old I'd take the old model. Prefer the functionality of the date wheel which is very well integrated.

Hi Barry, do both watches have Sellita movements or is the older one equipped with a 2824? All things considered I'd go for the new one. Nice video, nice watches... thanks Barry. LG Bob 🍻🍻🍻
@ClickSpringReview12 күн бұрын
Hi Bob both have the SW200 fitted under the hood, when I serviced mine I should of made a video off it 🙃
@robertlock604111 күн бұрын
@ClickSpringReview You can't think of everything Barry, and in the end it doesn't really matter if it's a Sellita or ETA as they're both good movements. 🍻🍻🍻
@Robert-vw3od12 күн бұрын
I’ve seen the watch and I was very impressed despite my initial thoughts, the only thing I would say is this further cements my opinion that the watch deserves the in-house movement. if it’s not going to be that then you should be looking at COSC certification and for me lack off this is a big letdown. it’s a shame because I love the design of the watch - it’s beautiful. The styling is fantastic. It looks like a divers watch should. On my wishlist despite some shortcomings.
@ClickSpringReview12 күн бұрын
You can get a 65 Diver with their in-house movement but its cost a little over a £1000 more and personal I prefer the SW200 myself and as can be seen from the timegrapher results they run with in COSC specs normally Robert
@P-Nisse9 күн бұрын
If you dive deeper? No, but that's not what it's about. A car for example that is called Off Road but breaks down if you try is not Off Road. A diver's watch should be 300m.
@ClickSpringReview9 күн бұрын
I know what you mean but 99% of people who go in the sea with their watch on don't go deeper than a meter or two, Even a scuba certified PADI Diver only goes to 12m
@P-Nisse9 күн бұрын
@ That’s true, but if it says 100 meters, it doesn't mean it's waterproof to 100 meters. This means that you can swim with the watch but not dive.

When OSF first relaunched, it was an exciting release. We haven’t seen this design for a while it was refreshing to see among divers. Then ORIS managed to make generic diver design version of OSF, then follow by the Topper release. Since I already bought the piece, further offering I just don’t bother to chase. This anniversary release, which not hugely different than that Topper release, just like multiple Tudor Black Bay variants, it is not exciting. To me, if they were released it in smaller 38mm case, that will create some hype and I do not mind to buy another in smaller, more vintage size vibe form of the original. As an owner of OSF initial reissue, with such minor differences in details, I don’t know how ORIS want me to support? I certainly will not be interested buying another. It’s an Anniversary with no excitement, nay for me. I don’t think they have thought this marketing strategy through thoroughly.
@ClickSpringReview12 күн бұрын
The reissue was a big hit for them and I guess they thought maybe it would be again, as you say a 38mm non date model may of worked but with the big front the dial might of lost some of its charm
@wermissam123912 күн бұрын
How can they put the diver mention with 10atm only :/
@ClickSpringReview12 күн бұрын
Because it was always a skin diver Sir
@kresimirpleic11 күн бұрын
Formally, 10 atm is a minimal requirement for a diver. But yes, it's a lazy way of doing a simple job, but it is what it is. They would have probably gone out of business if it weren't for the fact that Oris is a darling brand for KZbinrs. Oris is one of the worst value for money brands at retail prices.
@ClickSpringReview11 күн бұрын
I like the brand as a hole as its one of the very few which in its 100+ years of life has manage to still independent and even bring out its own in house movement, To many brands are owned by Swatch and the Richemont group
@pete553411 күн бұрын
A slightly different flavour. Pick your poison. I’ll echo your sentiment, it’s an extremely comfortable wear as it is very thin and only a 40mm diameter. I like mine.

Why put a Bi Directional bezel on a dive watch. Would Seiko Rolex Omega or Doxa do that . Hummmm
@ClickSpringReview12 күн бұрын
Being it has always been a skin the bezel isn't important, I cant think of one Rolex with a 100m WR which has a bezel can you ?

I can’t think of o Rolex diver that doesn’t have a bezel, can you?
@ClickSpringReview11 күн бұрын
If you check out Oris website it does say the watch is only rated for skin diving so I guess a bezel is that important just like Milgauss and GMT master 2 which both have 100m WR also and don't have dive bezels

E' un skin diver da 1.000-1200 € Punto . Ecco perche'. Ghiera biridezionale come i Vostok 🤢. Selita sw200 , e ghiera in alluminio . Rivendibilia' " lacrime e sangue". 😢 Se voglio un Skin diver top mi prendo un Vulcaine nautique , con eta 2824-2 e ghiera in ceramica . 1450€ il Nautique bracciale inox , 2250 € il 65 anniversary . 100 a 0 .
@ClickSpringReview9 күн бұрын
If you fitted a ceramic bezel on this it would lose the hole vintage theme, and every body loves the Oris 65 diverI know you listed a few watches and they are good models But not many people have even heard of Nautique and Vulcain. I bet Oris have sold more 65 divers than either company combined any of their models this is because a watch is some times more than the sum of its parts
