Even though I don't do mapping these videos really help with reading and predicting 5.5*+ maps. As I can imagine what a mapper was thinking when mapping.

Ok, i mapped many things and your tutorials help... But many of my maps feel... not yet rankeable.... And i think i know why... CONSISTENCY! What i mean is that i follow a rhythm and then there is one point were i can't place any objects and when i continue, the distance, object placement and flow... fail. I think you should do a video about maintaining a consistent map!
@citriphos8 жыл бұрын
Although my explaination might not be clear, it's quite straightforward. Consistency is when you keep the same concepts (rhythm, aesthetics) when a song repeats itself (if the song has a chorus). pishifat mentions this at 6:29. I may not be right and I'm a beginner mapper myself, but you get the point on how to maintain consistency in a map .w.
@SmashedTomatoes8 жыл бұрын
Jan Nathanielle I noticed that a few days ago, and i am already mapping something... It seems more consistent now!

Tho it's quite hard to understand when the music repeat itself, unless in cases where it's actually just repeating

Pishi educating a whole new generation of mappers. This can only turn out great, make osu great again.

Thank you. Modders are talking shit about how I intentionally make flow bad in my map. Thank you for actually telling people that lack of comfy flow is also a tool to express the song

Nice observations and explanations. I personally prefer direction changes to be done more often (maps are pretty bland otherwise). Except parts of the songs that ASK for continuous circlular movement

thanks for the "good playability =/= good map", it bothers me to see people think that if it plays well then its good.

I've been struggling to make streams look nice and natural. I use the 'convert slider to stream' tool, but i still feel they're... ugly. Could you do a video on making streams? (Preferrably +5 notes streams) :D Great videos btw man!
@TackKeyNack8 жыл бұрын
Madni try to group them. For example, the first four circles would be mapped as a simple curve, then the fourth note would be 1.5x far from the next group of circles, then try shapes.

Pishi, could you make a video about timing songs with frequently changing bpm? I struggle so much with some Rise Against songs.
@Nudgarrobot8 жыл бұрын
Glad someone else is trying to map some Rise Against as well. The more people the better; I'd really enjoy some decent maps for Survivor Guilt, for instance. The bpm changes in that make it ridiculously hard to map though, at least for me.

Can you make a video about 1/3 mapping ? Like swing. Keep the good work up :3

Can you please look at the maps from Hollow Wings? They are mapped really bad. Not the weird bad. The "hard" bad. I cant pass one of his 3* maps (Akiyama Uni - Chi no Iro wa Kiiro). And can you maybe make a tutorial on how to make this hard maps? PiWiPi :D
