Honestly i feel this is the direction she'ed have rather gone in, but because her fans mostly like pop bangers they trashed this album. Her heart just doesn't seem to be into being a "pop" star any more. Chromatica was purely to please her fans because it feels like she prefers a more toned down singer songwriter vibes these days i almost feel like she slightly resents being "lady gaga" more and more recently shes talked about how lady gaga and Stefani aren't the same person it just feels like she wants to be stefani now but her fans want her to still be the gaga of 2011.

Joanne is about Stephanie Germanotta (Lady Gaga’s) paternal aunt who was an artist, however she had lupus which destroyed her hands so she was unable to do her art. At the age of nineteen the doctor told her mother that her hands had to get amputated due to the lupus. Her mother said she were better dead than to be without hands and therefore unable to do art. At which point the doctor had to amputate Joannes hands and she later died due to the illness, lupus. Lady Gaga made this song about her.

Watching this live is something else, though. I can't remember exactly how my mom told me we were going to see her live, but I remember it was after I had a really bad day and she surprised me with the tickets for THAT NIGHT. Instantly made my day. Hearing Joanne live is something else, man. I had only first listened to the album on the way to the stadium, and was already in love. But hearing Joanne live, it was emotional. I was crying, my mom was crying, I'm sure other people were crying. Even though that song is about her aunt, I was still able to relate, because my aunt passed away years ago, and the lyrics really resonate with me. Watching her live, even if you're not close to the stage at all, is worth it. It's magical, her voice is so powerful.

Joanne (song). I had lost my grandma two years before the release of the album. The first time I heard Joanne, I bawled my eyes out. The part “Every part of my aching heart, needs you more than the angels do” gets me every single time. Well, the whole song in general. Fast forward a year later. I went to the Joanne world tour, and the date of the concert just so happened to fall on my grandma’s birthday. I really do believe it was a sign. My grandma was letting me know she was there with me. I’ll never forget that night ♥️

I don’t get how Come To Mama and Hey Girl sound out of place in an album that has folk, country, rock, reggae and pop. Joanne isn’t cohesive at all. You only thought those songs stuck out because they came later in the album and by that time you had made your mind about it. If the album has started out with those songs then other tracks might’ve sound out of place instead.

@@jessejordan8830 They should've kept it acoustic or acoustic rock, like Diamond Heart, Million Reasons, Joanne and Grigio Girls. They couldn't make up their minds what they wanted it to be. Between the country pop rock songs of AYo and John Wayne to the glam rock of Perfect Illusion and Hey Girl to the 70s sounding crap which is Just Another Day and Come to Mama, this album was spastic as hell, which works for albums like BTW and Artpop, not so much for an album like this. I've always thought Joanne was low key a hot mess. I actually liked it more when it came out than I do now. Now I pretty much just listen to Diamond Heart, Million Reasons and the piano version of Joanne, and that's it.

Come to mama is one of my favorites. I don’t care what people say. Very Beatles inspired. I think she was trying to go for a more classic sound in general and pulled from many inspirations/genres. Not just country rock. Although I agree the album at times can stray from a more cohesive sound and narrative. Dancin in circles to me sticks out like a sore thumb, but the instrumental is killer. Overall though I agree it’s one of her most transformative albums and a very necessary album she had to do in her career. Wish it would get more respect amongst the fans.

Highlights of 'Joanne' tour: 'Artpop's' 'Applause' will be remembered as the greatest performance of that song. "John Wayne " was just fire (literally...the sets and panels above and surrounding all through the auditorium were projections of fire. One of the greatest moments of Gaga). And one of the best moments of any concert was when she reached back to 'born this way' and did 'Bloody Mary'. So good.

The songs highlight her “SOUND” her sound is not ONE DIMENSIONAL so she shows that in each album, this one the most. It was amazing. People say they care for the messages in this album but they aren’t listening. Her sound carries the spastic difference throughout the album. I got 50’s, soft rock, jazz, country, and folk..
