@semanticsamuel9364 жыл бұрын
@@jbobkat4742 I have them cold. I have oats and yoghurt, then add honey and various nuts and fruit (whatever I have on hand). Wouldn't be nice warmed up. I suppose you could soak oats in water (or milk) overnight in a jar along with whatever toppings you fancy (a good spoonful of jam would be nice) and microwave it for a quick porridge.
@jbobkat47424 жыл бұрын
Semantic Samuel that’s basically what I’ve been doing is porridge, with almond milk and honey. After soaking overnight they didn’t look “done” to me so I assumed they still need to be “cooked” usually about 1 minute in the microwave. This was very helpful and I’m excited to try these suggestions. Thank you.

Breakfast is the best meal of the day! Especially when it tastes like dessert 😉 There's so much value added in this video. Not only do you explain all of the great benefits of overnight oats, but the recipes themselves are very simple to follow & we really appreciate that! Honestly, that's one reason we started our channel, was to show people that it can be easy to switch to a vegan lifestyle! It seems like it can seem overwhelming, especially at first, but when you find recipes that call for only a few ingredients, its suddenly not so bad. Much love to you for showing us how to create these amazing oats... we can't wait to try! 😍

I'm currently using a glass jar, originally for jam, which is THE PERFECT size So far, I've tried the "nutella" one, and the tropical one. As a chocolate lover, surprisingly, it wasn't my favourite, it was tropical! Tonight, I'm going to make the peanut butter and "jam" one hahah Edit: Will have to get my hands on more peanut butter, or just peanuts and almonds first :/

I'm honestly someone who has tried minimum of plant based foods and didn't really like the ones I've had before. This makes me scared to try new plant based recipes just in case they aren't really tasty according to me and I wont end up finishing it wasting the food. And also I don't really try non dairy foods because of my false mindset of them always tasting bad and not edible because I can't be vegan or vegetarian as I love my meat and my dairy. I need to change my mindset and be more brave. I've been following pick up limes for so long (years) and truly appreciate the work to make foods taste better for people who at times can struggle to find tasty food according to the diet they follow. Hopefully I can follow through with most of them for the better of the environment. Thank you

I tried that Golden Couscous one and it was a nice change of pace - you can eat it savory & w/o any toppings, but I do feel like it benefits from a touch of sweetener, so added a drizzle of agave (if I can just get ahold of some pomegranate seeds, I know that'll pair beautifully and I won't need liquid sweetener). However, I found that when I added just _one_ tbsp of tahini and then squeezed in some of the juice from the orange (or clementine in my case) where you're getting your zest, it didn't taste like it required any extra sweetener (granted, I was using Silk soy milk which has added sugar already in it - the first time I used cow's milk)!

Sadia, you've inspired me to give overnight oats another try. I tried it once before using steel-cut oats and I didn't care for the texture. So this time I'm using old fashioned rolled oats as you suggest. Using what I have on hand I've added soy milk, frozen blueberries, ground flaxseeds, natural peanut butter, ground ginger, cardamom, and nutmeg. Will see how it turns out. I'm optimistic. Thanks as always for sharing your wonderful recipes and knowledge.

Also, I like the idea of couscous for breakfast. Must try that.

One of my go to varieties is adding bananas and walnuts to oats, unsweetened coconut, chia seeds, and unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It's a bit like banana bread.

I gave this a shot finally! The PB&J one happens to be delicious with a little drizzle of 100% pure maple syrup on top ! I didn't have chia seeds, so I just used flax and it was great.
