Chocolate is my soft spot too and it was hard because I love a cup of creamy hot chocolate especially come the winter months. However, recently I’ve discovered hot molasses cocoa! 1 tbsp of blackstrap molasses (high in calcium, iron and other minerals), 1 tbsp of Dutch processed cocoa (iron and copper rich), 1-2 tbsp of honey or maple syrup, and a dash of spices like arabica, cinnamon, nutmeg or even the pumpkin spice mix or some cayenne pepper. I never believed I would find a replacement but it just tastes amazing! Plus I get the extra calcium I lack, and some extra iron in a cup or 2 a day of luxury.

Do you eat them cold? I’ve been making very boring over night oats to eat when I get to work, but I still warm it up.
@semanticsamuel9364 жыл бұрын
@@jbobkat4742 I have them cold. I have oats and yoghurt, then add honey and various nuts and fruit (whatever I have on hand). Wouldn't be nice warmed up. I suppose you could soak oats in water (or milk) overnight in a jar along with whatever toppings you fancy (a good spoonful of jam would be nice) and microwave it for a quick porridge.
@jbobkat47424 жыл бұрын
Semantic Samuel that’s basically what I’ve been doing is porridge, with almond milk and honey. I am not plant based but I still love these recipes because a lot of them you can just substitute for w/e you have on hand (for instance, I would use all natural peanut butter instead of almond butter, and milk because I don't have any non dairy milk), and they also seem quick, easy, and healthy! I'm excited to try the peanut butter and jelly one especially.
@maysafatima95344 жыл бұрын
I'm honestly someone who has tried minimum of plant based foods and didn't really like the ones I've had before. This makes me scared to try new plant based recipes just in case they aren't really tasty according to me and I wont end up finishing it wasting the food. And also I don't really try non dairy foods because of my false mindset of them always tasting bad and not edible because I can't be vegan or vegetarian as I love my meat and my dairy. I need to change my mindset and be more brave. I've been following pick up limes for so long (years) and truly appreciate the work to make foods taste better for people who at times can struggle to find tasty food according to the diet they follow. Hopefully I can follow through with most of them for the better of the environment. Thank you

These overnight oats are the first thing that sold me on this website. I "make" them every night and LOVE them in the morning. I especially like the cous cous one because when you look at it in the morning, it looks like it did not expand at all. Then when you stir it, it fluffs up. It's so yummy with the pomegranite and pistachios in it! And I love eating out of the pretty mason jars. I've gotten into a habit also of toasting coconut flakes while my oven cools down, after I've made something. (This is important as I hate that my oven uses natural gas, but it came with the house, and I am waiting/hoping to switch it out for an electric one).

I tried that Golden Couscous one and it was a nice change of pace - you can eat it savory & w/o any toppings, but I do feel like it benefits from a touch of sweetener, so added a drizzle of agave (if I can just get ahold of some pomegranate seeds, I know that'll pair beautifully and I won't need liquid sweetener). However, I found that when I added just _one_ tbsp of tahini and then squeezed in some of the juice from the orange (or clementine in my case) where you're getting your zest, it didn't taste like it required any extra sweetener (granted, I was using Silk soy milk which has added sugar already in it - the first time I used cow's milk)!

Thinking the same, but there's no reason you can't use a bowl and cover it with a plate so as not to use plastic wrap

One of my go to varieties is adding bananas and walnuts to oats, unsweetened coconut, chia seeds, and unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It's a bit like banana bread.

Hey Sadia! I am a new mom of a 4 month old and was looking for something quick but nutritious for breakfast when I recalled how I loved your recipes as a busy office goer a few years ago. I just had the chocolate hazelnut combo and I am your fan again ❤️ lots of love to you!

I've been vegetarian my entire life, been slowly replacing meals of mine with vegan alternatives. Your videos inspired me today to go absolutely vegan, go shopping, and finally tell my parents! Thanks for making human lives easier and saving the animal ones too with your content! It really helps. A request - maybe make a video aspiring vegans can just put on to show their family as a 'coming out' video of sorts? A video in which YOU address them to make it easier on us? I'm sure you'll find the perfect way of making it sound right and reasonable - which it absolutely is!

I literally just finished making my oats for tomorrow before sitting down and seeing this on my notifications. My favourite are peanut butter oats with no berries. I normally add banana to it in the morning.

I never thought to add vegan yogurt to my oats. It looks amazing. I'm going to start doing this. And the nutella and tropical oats look yum!
