With these lower ranked games it would be very beneficial if you explain some more of the FPS basics. What is playing around a corner, why would you do that? Booster MGMT so your never walking on the floor and idk getting firestruck or death blossomed. Where to land to let boosters recover. Being aggressive vs feeding. Also what is feeding? How to lead your shots. Maybe flicking if you think they can handle it. When to push up after you've won the fight and how long to stay before your over extending.
@javorgeorgiev61304 жыл бұрын
During my far too long adventure getting out of bronze I've seen all kinds of people. Once played with a Soldier that might as well have had Dafran's aim. Problem was, he wasn't shooting at anything most of the time. The barrier fight at King's Row CP starts and the only one doing anything was our Orissa. My boy took a glance, saw the enemy had a Sigma and instantly gave up. Instead he ran in circles. Literally ran around doing absolutely nothing, waiting for the enemy shield to not be up for whatever reason. If all it took were mechanical skill and nothing else, he'd be GM.

No. If you push in bronze, it means the team gets into 2 groups. Those who over extend and those who wait. And you'll lose the point. And then it's really hard to get the point again.
@strahinjasalajic69804 жыл бұрын
@Visionary Owl seems like you have decent game sense just bad mechanics
@Real_MisterSir4 жыл бұрын
@@MlleLurleen There are many ways to push, you don't have to physically push far out to take advantages. Especially with Pharah, she can bombard long distances and gain massive ult charge and potentially get the odd elimination on a random squishy. For example in the City center on Oasis, he could have hovered above/behind the choke and just fired straight down their spawn without physically overextending, but he chose to stay literally on the point and just waiting for the enemy to gain every possible advantage. he is lucky that they even won, as it could have been the toss of a dice whether or not they won any of their engages because he didn't push any advantage during the entire game. Then there's the fact that he could contribute with burning down the tanks' shields and health pools before they even got to the choke, ensuring they have to fight for every meter of the map, instead of just letting them traverse freely all the way to the point. People in low ranks also do this on escort maps, where they take massive fights but usually not near the payload - so even though you might win the fight, the enemy will still be pushing the payload the entire time so most of the engagement win was actually pointless. Similarly, taking slightly worse fights on the payload when defending, is better than waiting for too long, because even though you might lose, you ensure that the enemy don't make any progress during the entire fight, so you gain maximum value despite losing. Better to lose effectively, than to win at the cost of actually forgetting the objective and just handing over too much free progress.

17:05 really good example on how he dramatically overuses fuel and keeps being low on fuel for the entire fight so that at 17:15 he almost hits the ground. and you can see how it keeps him from prioritizing hitting his enemies because he struggles so much to be where pharah wants to be in that situation, namely directly above his enemies so he is hard to track and being focussed.

Three things that will shoot him from bronze to plat 1. Make a kill list; look at the enemy team and see what’s the easiest to kill and what should be the first thing you should get rid of 2. Map knowledge; there’s a lot of maps especially on defense where pharah can spam the spawn door from a very safe position 3. Positioning. Too much dodo pharah (ground pharah) and when you do land your in a pretty fucked position either land on high ground or land near your team Also as a mini pro tip: don’t be afraid to ask your mercy to pocket you. A pocketed pharah in your elo is very scary

Try playing that Sombra and actually building to a very fast ult like you're supposed to do, then calling out EMP in chat and literally counting down to the EMP, and having your team stand around, wait for it to wear off, and then lose the fight anyway. That's what really happens in low ranks as Sombra; no one follows up on anything she does. That's why she gets no value, and it isn't her fault a lot of the time.

I gotta say, as someone who has only recently crawled out of bronze into high silver/low gold, calling for our allies to fall back a bit is super important. It's hard to believe how easily a fight (even after getting a pick, two or even more) can turn into a lost point. A lot of people just don't have the awareness/gamesmarts to realise when they've gone too hard or don't have a place to fall back on. In Silver/Gold this seems to be less of a problem and people realise when they can push and when they can't or should come back a bit. Just thought I'd add my 2 pennies worth here. ;)

One thing that is very apparent in these very low sr games, is that it's obvious people are having a hard time keeping track of all the potential dangers. That's why a guy like Reaper can come after a teamfight is "won", and just blast everyone in the back and get a quad kill out of nowhere, because everyone kinda forgot about him and the threat he poses. The natural way to conquer this, is to play enough to build the game sense that allows you to think "Hmm this guy is still lurking around and I haven't seen him use his ult in a while, I should probably scout our backline and keep an eye out for him". But that takes time and tons of gameplay experience to get to that point. For someone like this guy playing Pharah in Bronze, I would instead suggest as a temporary fix, that he just plays more off angles and don't get drawn towards his team all the time, because it exposes him to a lot of enemies that usually would never be able to contest him. The fact that reaper was ever a problem is proof of this issue. Instead of relying on the team's fronline and healers as your main way of defense, learn to play more in solitude and depend on health packs rather than your healers, and use walls and obstacles instead of your tanks' shields for protection. If you take off angles all the time, it also opens up the direction of engagement so you can shoot past shields, and the enemy is forced to split their attention in two directions, which in itself will break most bronze teams pretty easily. If you play the off angles and keep a fair distance and learn to use natural cover and health packs, you can be completely self sustained and fuck the enemy team without ever really exposing yourself to any close quarter danger. It only requires one thing, which is that you seek out advantages way more, and don't sit around on the objective. It's fine that the tanks live around the edge of the objective, but you as Pharah should rarely hover there unless the entire fight has broken out on the objective itself. You can take every angle you like, you can pop up anywhere and blast rockets at the enemy team from angles they don't suspect and can't defend themselves against, and you need to pursue these advantageous positions if you want to improve your general gameplay.

As a Pharah main (well pharah/tracer, but whatever), he really needs to manage his fuel and jump jets better. He should be using the jets, then sporadically pressing space at the apex of the jump until he runs out of fuel. By that time the jump jets will be off cooldown. It's a pattern and once you get the hang of it, you'll rarely be floundering for fuel or landing in awkward/dangerous positions. That's really one of the main things he needs to work on, as well as getting low and diving on people like Sty said. At one point I saw him use the jump jets, then let himself fall a good bit before pressing space and using fuel. He essentially wasted that jump jet. He'll struggle a lot less once he can manage those things.

the positioning at 18:05 is incredibly poor, low level play. a huge difference between high ranked players and lower ranked is lower ranked players never push up and always try and fight on the point. the choke is never the point, its always before. pharah should be over the choke arch at this point spamming rockets into their spawn and down on them , not telling his team to get back to point.

I hope this comment won't get lost into the void so please like it if you experience the same. In the last 48 hours I have dropped 250 SR (20 something games straight losses) in the current season of Overwatch. I too am in Bronze and have been there for 3-4 seasons. I am far from God's gift to this game and have much room to improve. Not counting the games where somebody just bails before the game starts. 50% of the games played at least at Bronze level is somebody quits after the game start completely screwing the team they were with. I have seen people in 5 of these games that just run around the spawn point, even in games we were doing well in. Mics are a rare thing at this level and typically only used to complain. I would say of this batch of games only 25% were 6v6 fights for the entire duration. I have never heard Stylosa directly address this. He constantly says if you get good with your character you'll escape bronze...its just not true. Bronze is such a unique monster that the "good tactics" that DO work at higher levels don't apply here because at higher levels you never see the things you do in Bronze. The only things I'd think would work is if you have a HUGE mechanical skill and can delete half the enemy team every engagement. PLEASE STY I know you cant play for us but anything you can offer to assist here would be greatly appreciated. I'm a Lucio main who mostly plays quickplay and community (custom servers) but not competitive and I'm really looking for tips from someone who's good at the game and can lay out those tips as a reaction, instead of a premade script which might not cover all bases. And, if I am able to send it, how do I transfer the replay?

I started off in bronze around 1100 Sr, I was stuck there around 3 seasons and on the fourth one I played with my pal and we played rein-dva or rein zarya and we got to mid gold. The very next season we continued and got to 2600. That was around season 13 when straight after I quit overwatch until season 17, where I placed mid gold. Season 18 was exactly the same. Then season 19 was a upturn, when I hit 2.8k Sr and was playing the best I ever was. Then season 20 hit. Went from 2.7k where I placed up to 3.3k in the space of about a month, I've found tank buddies that I have insane synergy with and we just destroy every other team with. I'm hoping to hit masters since I only need about 170 Sr. This made me want to play the game and it became fun again. There is also a ton less toxicity in diamond than plat from my experience.

If you've been playing for 2 years and you're still in bronze then you just don't care enough to win. That's all there is to it.

The problem which most pharah’s is they think the ult is so throw away that they actually throw it away and waste it almost expecting to die and not caring if they do

I was in bronze for two years. was always told it was my fault, until I saw a jayne video saying you are only in bronze because something is holding you back. I had, hardware issues, and bad internet(used to live on an island.... like actual island in the middle of the pacific ocean). when I moved, and fixed everything, I went up 1,000 SR in like 20 games no joke.

Just do quick play, enjoy the game. But if you enjoy playing in bronze it doesn't matter what rank you are.

I think you're missing out on letting him know that when you say "dive" a player from above as Pharah, you don't actually mean drop on the ground right next to them - still stay above them, but really close, like nearly stand on their head and fire at them. This player seems to want to melee as Pharah, and that is a lot of risk for little reward.

A PC player stuck in bronze? Jesus, the game has gone downhill

This makes me think of an interesting question I've had for a while as I've learned more about the game. So your SR is based on how well you play as compared to other people in the ranking systems right? Obviously people get better the more they play right? So doesn't that mean if you aren't progressing as fast as literally everyone else in your rank doesn't that mean it's possible to be stuck at your rank forever even though you are improving? Makes the system seem kind of unfair in a way like the game is constantly moving the goalposts on you.

@Owen Marble I thought that was legit how the system worked. Looking at my old gameplay I definitely know I've improved.

Also dont hold space when u jetpack its why he never has any fuel + (this goes for literally any hero) right after u disengage, RELOAD so u dont walk into the next fight with one rocket and all it does is announce where u are
