Richard Goodman Not reallt, they have gone down in value after the mk3 has come out.
@zaink70375 жыл бұрын
Yeah they are holding their values. Good ones are going for around 17k. Thing is though you can get the newer RS for around 6 - 8k more. No hate but you can get faster cars for cheaper like a TTS which are going for around £12k and probably are cheaper to run. The RS looks cooler obviously.

@@zaink7037 as an invest.ent the Rs mk1 and mk2 will keep a value and are now on the rise. Audis fall in value rapidly
@zaink70374 жыл бұрын
@@THEGHOSTMAKER1 that's true. I saw some mk2 RSs going for more than the mk3. Would love a green mk2

Only brought 50 of these into Australia, my theory in life is if you are going to buy a car buy it in it's highest performance model.

I like your videos! There's simply too many people reviewing cars that are unattainable! Good choice of cars and straight up honest opinions! Keep it up!

Both the ST and RS are awesome cars, in fact - the Focus in general is. Each model in a different way suits different roles and people. But I've heard someone refer to an ST as a Dolphin and the RS as a Shark before, and I think that comparison is quite fitting. The RS looks menacing and is the one to have fun in. The ST is the toned down, happy looking car with a bit more bite when you put your foot down when compared to the standard and sports models (Zetec-S etc). If you have the money it has to be the RS, otherwise the ST is a great alternative which still packs a punch
@mattluxton88028 жыл бұрын
If I wanted to go out and buy a hot Focus it could only ever be the RS. Looks more aggressive. More power. Just overall more special than an ST. Don't get me wrong I like the ST but with a fast Ford an RS anything is always the best!

Awesome review man :D Running a stage 1 ST 180 at the moment. The RS is definitely going to be my next car. Also, do you know what blow off he is running?
@CarlsModsClass8 жыл бұрын
It would depend on what mods I'd could do to both but I know the RS sounds better and you get more pop's and bangs from the exhaust when cold or hot .
@daveingley3668 жыл бұрын
I DID buy the ST instead, it was a tough choice but I couldn't warrant the 10k (at the time) price difference. Plus I needed a 5 door :D Great vids btw!

My mk2 ST with Bilstein, H&R, remap, blow-off valve, RS clutch, sway bars, wheel spacers and CAIS provides me a similar sensation, but still the RS looks apart. Best hot hatch ever.

Maybe you were hearing a different noise from where you were sat but sounded to me like the tyres scrabbling between gear changes or the clutch being shagged :-) Unless that was the intention, of course.

Anyone got an idea on the BOV setup to get that flutter?
@archiedoughballs65994 жыл бұрын
i would absolutley love one
@jurgenvdberg52844 жыл бұрын
Is the sututu sound just the induction kit ? Or is it a recvalve ?
@wrx2hot4u8 жыл бұрын
ffs the flutter sound is back pressure hitting the turbo blades which is actually not great for turbo longevity. the only part a bov will play is to not do its job and return pressure back to the turbo.

@Carlst178 жыл бұрын
Correct me if I'm wrong?,but don't k&ns actually decrease performance slightly simply because they are open in the engine bay and normally close to the turbo and then sucking in even hotter air? Isn't a k&n panel filter best for performance?
@iainmurray99618 жыл бұрын
+Carl Talbot if they're positioned badly then yes, you're right. Hotter air is less dense, so if the filter is at the back of the engine and only getting hot air, then it's unlikely you'll actually get any performance gains other than induction noise. Mine is behind the front fog light to maximise the amount of cold air it can get!
@iainmurray99618 жыл бұрын
+Carl Talbot a K&N panel filter wouldn't allow enough air flow on a fairly highly modified car...
@reallybrokenalways8 жыл бұрын
To a point yes, the better airflow is great but the MAF/IAT/ECU also need to know this. Older cars fitted with MAF usually gain nothing, modern cars usually respond better as they are able to pickup the increased flow and adjust fueling. With the increase in modern cars fitted as standard with Wideband O2 sensors instead of the older narrow band type is part of the reason. They can detect and adjust, but this still has a limit.
@iainmurray99618 жыл бұрын
GFB Developments it will be running an ecu tune as well, so im sure it's all good ;)

Sick videos! How do you get insured on so many different cars if you don't mind me asking?
@fuji19908 жыл бұрын
He'll either have a traders policy which allows you to drive any car Third Party but you have to prove that your using the traders policy for business reasons i think? If not then as long as your over 25 then most insurance policies on your car allow you to drive any car Third Party as long as the car you are driving is insured
@CraigsChannel8 жыл бұрын
+Jake Hinley He's probably covered to drive they third party threw his own car insurance, my company let me drive anybodys car with the owners consent as long as it's not a least or rented car

Haha mint seeing someone enjoy the "chatter" of a Recirc lol👍. Love my ST currently running stage 4 Turbo x has basically Rs kit minus turbo setup. KMS Thunderstorm is mental Exhaust note as well. I'm running 360bhp 430lb torque. Stage 1 RS boys territory lol. Bola B1s 9.5j ET35 so the stance looks nuts lol.

Lovely car don't feel you done the car any justice really regarding figures I'm pretty sure it's miles apart from the ST and regarding buying one unless you want 5 door over 3 anyone essentially interested in an st would probably want an RS if they could have one over the st there's no downsides.

im 19 and thinking of buying my first as its the first year i can actually insure one! the way i see it i can either afford a specced out ST or a standardish RS and i just cant decide...!
@JamieFYD8 жыл бұрын
+martin2605 i agree with this guy, get the RS if you can got one bud, you can always build a good RS over time after getting the base car!
@T2oys8 жыл бұрын
good luck trying to get a reasonable quite on either mate, you're 19 so the insurance companies think that you have very little experience. I would wait until about 23-24 to get either when my NCD is built up if I were u
@JMRXOfficial8 жыл бұрын
Honestly buddy its not that bad i had the total same attitude as you but its really not bad they wanted 1800 for the year on the rs one off payment but to pay monthly was disgusting was asking like 800 a month i know it doesnt make sense i got my RS anyway and im in love we it

What gives the compressor surge? Is it the filter?
@NickF148 жыл бұрын
+Michael Goodwin I imagine so mate. Normally a cone /pod filter / induction kit will increase the turbo spool and noise. In this case it's a K&N Induction kit, so that's probably what it'll be mate.

The st is a nice car but comparing it to the Rs model isnt really even although the share the same engine. The Rs has different internals differentvturbo different injectors wider stance a diff better dampers and diff seats. Standard power 225 st vs standard 300 rs do the same mods to the st as the rs and the rs is still ahead all the time. And price wise an rs with 30,000 miles is still going for the same price as they were new 7 years ago. Sts are 2 to 4 k now. I like both cars but preffer the rs and how they drive.
@wallkieran938 жыл бұрын

The price difference on the st and rs is approx 10K and with the rs your not getting 10k wortth more of car by a long way. The st is not comparable as many mods have been done to the rs but weather it fronts the massive price difference is up to the buyer. For me its a very expensive badge but at least by the time they got to the rs ford did manage to sort that shody engine they put in the st. They really had gave the Volvo engine a bad name pre RS.
