Anyone in the UK can detain someone they suspect has, is, or about to, commit a crime, including this bold Security guard. I believe, the way I read it, a civilian who detains another civilian, is actually making a citizen’s arrest. They may use reasonable force to keep the “suspect” there until police arrive. The detaining/arresting person, or people, are responsible for any unlawful detainment. AB should have prosecuted them for unlawful detainment/arrest. I don’t understand why these auditors don’t sue every time. The only way to make changes with unlawful detainment/arrest is to make the offending parties PAY with their own money. Both of these police are tyrants. Their attitudes when they arrived was BS, & I can see why people would want to TARGET these police, who display such shitty attitudes while knowingly being filmed. You can imagine how they would have treated AB if he was not recording. I would never target a cop, but if my best friend targeted a cop, I might buy him a Rib Eye steak dinner for his troubles.

The SIA was brought in to stop criminals and wronguns from working in the security industry. I worked in security for almost 20 years and had to apply for one in 2005. When the recession kicked in in 2010 a lot of the security guards lost their jobs as all building work in the country stopped and the sites couldn't afford the extortionate rates security companies were charging them. In the end a mass influx of foreigners suddenly stepped into our jobs at £3 an hour with no licenses. When I saw the way the industry was going I never renewed my licence and have never gone back to the job that I loved doing. Now a large percentage of these foreign guards have no criminal checks and hardly speak english and treat the public like shit, the government allowed this to happen the moment the SIA was brought in.

@@asal4823 Idiot. Your use of the term " national pandemic " exposes you as a moron. A pandemic (from Greek πᾶν, pan, 'all' and δῆμος, demos, 'people') is an epidemic of disease that has spread across a large region, for instance multiple continents or worldwide, affecting a substantial number of people. Therefore, a national pandemic simply does not exist. If you struggle to grasp this simple concept all other utterances from you should be dismissed as the rantings of a halfwit.

(2) Where an indictable offence has been committed, a person other than a constable may arrest without a warrant- (a) anyone who is guilty of the offence; (b) anyone whom he has reasonable grounds for suspecting to be guilty of it. (4) The reasons are to prevent the person in question- (a) causing physical injury to himself or any other person; (b) suffering physical injury; (c) causing loss of or damage to property; or (d) making off before a constable can assume responsibility for him. Calling a police Constable "Officer" is the verbal eqivalent of licking his boots. "Officer" relates to Admiralty Law, which in turn relates to corporations and the control and collection of revenue. A "Constable" is supposed to protect us from criminal activity under Common Law and Law of the Land, therefore the gradual transition to the title of "Officer" without most people noticing is slowly eroding people's rights and what you end up with is a police force working and protecting corporations instead of people." (Credit to PJ for his original comment posted elsewhere). Think about it. Even the bloke who calls round to read the gas meter is an "Officer" these days. And so are the BBC licensing goons ("Enforcement Officer", for Godsake). It is a corporate psychological manipulation to subjugate us. But there is no obligation to tug one's forelock and dance to their tune like performing monkeys. It is not compulsory to embrace one's own enslavement.
