It's getting there aye! That thing is more solid than a Rolls Royce idling at 700 rpm but with less gaps in the body work. Are you going to balance a coin on edge and then test drive it for us?
@kuffyswoodwork4 жыл бұрын
Dunno about balancing a coin on it, but I'll certainly give the bench a good test over the next 1000 years

That's a very nice bench. Lucky you made it out of free recycled timber. Otherwise it would be too good to mess up with work. Thanks for the series.

The series isn't over. There is still three more videos before the grand finale! I am not so secretly hoping that someone asks me to build a bench for them out of US Maple and Walnut

I'm loving this series and learning so much as always! But you're making me want to spend money on a new bench with HNT hardware! 😂 Cheers

The money spent on the HNT vice hardware is nothing compared to the time spent building the bench. Luckily it is a fun time 😂

G’day mate, I was talking to Chris today about your video series & we both agreed that it’s better you making the intricate joints & attention to detail because if we tried to replicate this we’d both have heart attacks or get a lot of splinters 😔😮🤔🤠🤠🤠anyhow should Australia ever get invaded we made a pact to come & hide under the Ocker ok 👌, ps I was embarrassed that I incorrectly spelt Stawell as Stall 😢😱 but you didn’t make me feel bad so kudos to ya Kuffmeister 🇦🇺🇦🇺🍻🍻👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Lol, I didn't even notice you spelt Stawell incorrectly. If it is any consolation, I can't pronounce the majority of Australian town names. Tangambalanga! 😟

Very impressive, like the way you explained fitting the top. Would be beneficial to fill the checks and voids with with expoxy and then scrape them smooth? Awesome bench with great fitting on the joinery EXCELLENT work. Thanks for the videos Kuffy.
@kuffyswoodwork4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I will fill the cracks and checks with epoxy. I first need to smooth plane the top, then I'll fill the voids, and then scrape the epoxy back. I've never had much luck planing epoxy, but it scrapes well enough.

Awsome seeing it come together. Your new mic sounds great too.

I like the new mic, but it chews through batterys so quickly, so I often switch back to the older shotgun mic because that uses a lithium rechargeable battery.

Hi Kuffy, another great video, bench looks great 👍🏻 but mate how the hell will you sleep 💤 with that gap, a bloody hair might fall in geez mate, fix it 😜

I considered not fixing the gap, but it is annoying me so much. It'll be fixed before the final product is revealed to the masses. 👍

Nice accuracy in your work with good looking joints. Hope my bench build comes out half as good as yours. If its close to your finish standard I'll be massively pleased. Lovely bench What router bit did you use for the mortices?

It's 2100mm long and 660mm deep.

@@kuffyswoodwork Thanks. Have you ever wished for more depth? I'm designing a workbench now and not so sure about the depth. Any thoughts?
@kuffyswoodwork Жыл бұрын
@@farmcat3198 The majority of projects will be no more than 600mm deep (chest of drawers, side tables, coffee tables etc). When it is wider than 600mm, it's probably something big like a bed or a dining table. In those cases, you'll be assembling on the floor anyway.
