@@PanTheOrganizer Hi Pan I sometimes am forced to wash the car in the sun, which I don't enjoy, as a consequence I found myself having to work a lot faster than normal and I can usually get a nice streak free and water spot free finish using a micro fibre towel first with flex wax as the drying aid. I then blow it out with a blower then go round wiping away any excess water and that's it a clean finish achieved.

I detail in broward and palm beach counties. Summer is brutal. I try to get my work done in the morning. A lot of times I turn down work if they ask me to come in the afternoon. Its just not worth your health.

I managed a shop in the late 90’s and have kept up using the same techniques I learned back then on my own vehicles. Recently I decided to jump back in doing a few cars a month as a side gig. A lot has changed since those days and I’m trying to learn about the developments since then. I came up on rotary buffers only and 3M and Meguiar’s professional line was the cream of the crop back then. It’s daunting how many products are out there now! Your channel has helped me to weed through the BS products and pick the right products and techniques to get back in the game. Thanks!

Living in Texas in direct summer sunlight, (temperatures of 100-110) this was really helpful. I am new so I detail my cars in the driveway as much as possible because my garage is like a literal oven. Before you do anything, clean the wheels. You don't want any product or foam or even water from a rinse sitting on the car while you spend 20 minutes cleaning the wheels and tires. Then begin the process on the rest of the car. I also find towel drying with my large Griot's drying towel a much faster way to get the car dry than a blower. I can get the top surfaces dry - roof, hood, trunk, windshield, rear window, in 20-30 seconds before the hot Florida sun dries it all up. Depending on where the sun is it tends to take a little longer for the water on the side surfaces to dry so you can do those afterwards. With a blower I find I'm chasing water all over the place, especially on cars without any kind of sealant. But that's just a personal preference. Great video as always Pan!

This is my tip for hot, sunny days. Unfortunately this happen to me 30 years ago. Vehicle had been sitting in the sun. I just turned on the hose and the windshield blew up. Learned from that to open the doors to let out the pressure built up inside.

When I wash the car on a sunny day , I just wait till the sun is at an angle where it is shining behind the house, so I am shaded by the shadow, yet get enough reflections to see the paint on the car. Great video Pan.

Trick I like to do is take the vehicle to a self service wash. Just use shelter bay and use the no rinse wash method. I ususally do tires tires first give paint time to cool. Great video and Thanks for being very descriptive as usual!

I subscribed recently due to getting back into detailing and just found this video. I washed today at midday and I live in a hard water area. I have an RODI unit I use to make water for my marine fish tank. It can make small amounts over time to fill buckets but not enough to run a pressure washer. I use this RODI water to make up a rinse less wash bucket. I pre rinse spray/soak with rinse less, allow to dwell. Blast off with pressure wash, this is hard water. Spray again all round with rinse less, to prevent spots. Contact wash and dry panel by panel, re spray with rinse less if it dries. Finally use a blower to clear crevices and final buff. Next time I’m going to get a clay towel and a sealer spray.

For a wipe and shine in direct sunlight I've used Eagle One Wipe & Shine Detailer for years now. Another product I use in direct sunlight is EVO Gloss Enhancer Spray. Both products are great to use in the sun. Since I can't park my car in the garage because of an added fireplace I've always have had to find products that provide great results with that sun beating down on the car. As far as cleaning the windows in the direct sunlight I use Invisible Glass Aerosol Spray along with Scott Shop Glass Paper Towels.

I used to be able to wash my car inside of our garage but I haven't been able to recently since my german shepherd is now always inside our garage after my brother's dog occupied his cage. And now I always wash my car outside our house. Although I don't really wash my car in direct sunlight since I usually wash very late in the day and our house provides a shade.

Since I’ll be stuck at home anyways I decided to learn detailing my car at home. I used to only wash my car once a week and now I wash 2 times a week. really early or late is the best time I told all my clients I will only detail at 6 to 10am. or 5 to 8pm. I knock out 4 maintenance washes a day almost every single day. love detailing and keeping vehicles looking new. OnR is awesome in the sun. my favorite product though is Formula 4 spray wax it has a chemical in it that neutralizes minerals ..spray it on everything after your contact wash and it will prevent mineral deposits from drying... then rinse car off and towel dry easily without worrying. ugh it's a must have. it leaves some protection too so am added bonus. great videos Pan. thanks

I live in El Paso, Tx. Right next to the border. And right now we have been dealing with 100+ degree weather over the summer and that has made washing my ride a bit of a chore. Even when the sun sets it's still 90 degrees, PLUS it's flood season here in town so either the sun will slow you down or the rain will get you. Lol. It's a battle to the end.

If the sun is really beating down and you’re in a hot location like I am, my suggestion is to wash the car in halves or sections. Preferably use a canopy but if not, the side in the sun first and rinse off that side first.

Pan, a bit off-topic for this video, but I didn't see any videos on "clear bras" for cars. I think out of all the money I spend on car products over the years, having a clear film put on the front of my car (hood, front fenders, front grill, side mirrors) 1.5 years ago was one of the best choices to preserve my paint. When I perform my maintenance wash of my daily driver, it is SOOO nice not to see any stone dings, bug splats that hurt the paint, etc. It is always so clean and smooth, it makes me smile and appreciate the protection it provides. In the past, I would see so many rock dings, in my paint, and it is so discouraging, but not anymore. I was wondering if you would consider doing do a show about clear covers?

Yet again a great video. I do my vehicles outside usually early in the morning. I’m used to moving fast and keep re-rinsing as I go. I always use the meguiars XPress spray wax and cannot get over how slick the paint is and the awesome gloss. I usually wash my truck 2 times a week so I’m not worried about the durability of the express wax. I’m loving that I have a 1 year vehicle that is a daily driver and washed at least each week with no swirls. Thank you so much for passing on all your wisdom!

Texas Gulf coast driveway enthusiast here so morning weekend washes frequently in direct sunlight (late afternoon / early evening is too hot). Agree that working fast and drying aids are big helps. Also, to take care of yourself: 1. keep cooler by wearing light colors. Don't detail in all black, navy, or other clothing in the summer. 2. Drink 1/2 a bottle of gatorade prior to starting, drink water frequently during, and drink the other 1/2 of the gatorade bottle afterward.

I live in sun drenched Florida and have been searching for a 10x20 Canopy and own an f150 xlt and want to be able to drive under and still be able to clean my roof. I guess I'm going to have to move. I live near the Mojave Desert in California. Temps this month are running 100-115 °Fahrenheit (40-45 °Celsius) and there's no end in sight. The evening temps are 80 °Fahrenheit (27 °Celsius) but once it gets dark it's hard to work. If that's not enough, it's often windy 20-25mph (30-40km/h) and generally 10-20% humidity. Very frustrating because I've got all the tools and chemicals (including a de-ionized water system) to do the job. Luckily, my new Jeep is fully PPF'd, but it's time do protect that too! Hi Pan. When I pre pre foam the car after I rinse it first, I always rinse off the foam from the bottom up so you fully utilize the foam. Otherwise if you do it the opposite from top down, you will rinse off the foam before your pressure washer hits it. I like extra lube during the rinse off.

I go to the car washes 2 hours before sundown and use all my chemicals there. The only thing I use is their water because everything else I feel would tarnish my vehicle's paint. This is great information Pan, for us in the Southwest high desert. One dilemma I have is: 1. No garage. 2. No allowance for washing it the driveway. (HOA rules). 3. Only real access I might have would be the two-bit car wash stations. Some advertise pre-wash and soft water, but I can see it taking a long time in the bay. At least for the first time. Are these wash bays advisable at all? I don't mind making other people wait, but I wonder about the water quality and what I should look for. Thanks Pan. You're awesome...

Yeah they are fine if you have the option for a spot-free rinse at the end (they use a water deionizer for the rinse). And you can bring your own wash bucket, mitt and shampoo. You control what goes on your paint that way.

Omg!!! You don’t understand how thankful I am for coming across this video!!! I live in the Central Valley of California and it gets HOT out here!! One question I have they I hope you’ll answer….after you’ve applied a spray with SiO2/hydrophobic properties and then a drying aid to dry the vehicle-can I end here with a spray wax??

I wouldn't over-stack too many different protections. Once you used the ceramic drying aid, the vehicle is done at that point. No need to apply further protection. (That's assuming you already had a long lasting base layer of protection like a true ceramic coating or graphene coating, the ones in glass bottles). Also, it's best not to add regular waxes on top of ceramic based protection. The wax would mask the superior properties of the ceramic and would eventually be rejected anyways.

Just washed my wife’s car around 7am today before heat and sunlight hit my driveway. It was only around 75 degrees which was pretty good for Texas. I think it’s much easier than evening time because all panels are already cooled down overnight.

HI Pan. when I have to wash in the sun I will wash half the car either front or back. then rinse. then dry in the garage. garage has no drain so cant wash there. always a nice job Pan!

Immediately after doing that 3-day detail we went on vacation. If it's only for the weekend. The car has a ton of bugs and cicada carcasses. I did put The Last Coat on the car. Seeing how to save the remove the bugs, tar, ect. Would be a great video.

More great content but I pose something different for you. Not all of us own sedans, personally I own a 2021 Ford F-150 Super Crew. A large vehicle, my challenges are getting the windows cleaned with something easy to manage and not having to crawl up a ladder for that or the roof even getting into the bed I cannot reach all areas. I would like to see a show on tools used for those types of vehicles to reach those hard to get places. I'm 6' 3" and I have a tough time. I will not use a car wash. Also I saw a pressure washer tool that did your under carriage with a high pressure spray that rolled. Thoughts on that. Another question is what are you thoughts on using a 3rd party longer pressure washer hose? Mine barely long enough to do the front and back without moving the unit. I started using the Turtle Wax Graphene products because of you and do love them! Keep up the great work.

I detail in Direct sunlight and I never really have any issues I also use a RV filter system. I live in windy Alberta and I don’t trust the weather so a canopy isn’t worth the risk of it blowing into a customer’s vehicle

Thanks for the tips Pan, as a mobile detailer I'm always trying to find new ways to avoid direct sunlight but it's inevitable. I tried looking into canopies but since most of them are not portable, it would be hard to transfer them between clients' houses. The water system seems like the best option though! I'll definitely check that out.

I agree with you about the water treatment system. I would love to get one of them. I have to convince my wife of the purchase. One of the ways that I am starting to win her over is by doing her Mini Cooper in the middle of the afternoon. I do my car at 5:30 in the morning so there's no sun on the car and use products to make sure there's no water spotting. When she sees the difference between the way our cars turn out I think I'm going to win her over pretty soon. 😉😉
