I'm disappointed in how the court and DFS is treating the father. He is doing his best and they are rude, dismissive, and nasty to him. Some of these overseers are more in love with their power than trying to help the father.

Absolutely! It definitely turns into ego and abuse of power. They get drunk off of being able to dangle their parental rights as a carrot and constantly move the goal post. I've seen them do it first hand at my former place of employment and it's disgusting

You are exactly right..its hard watching how a lot of them speak toward a parent even when the parent is actually doing good and doing what is asked of them and really jumping over, under, and in between all the things they make them do and yet they still speak about them like they are trash and worthless as a parent..and also they take smoking pot (not while the kids are around or in their presents ) like they've been shooting H up multiple times a day. I don't smoke pot don't like the feeling I get from it so I don't smoke but I rather have a pothead around than a drinker any day...potheads don't smoke up and hurt and kill ppl or get angry, they get slow moving happy and hungry and sleepy

Mr. Pope spoke passionately and eloquently and they COMPLETELY IGNORED HIM, thereby proving everything that he said to be the truth. I truly empathize with him and I think the legal system (Ms. Evans-Battle) have abused him and his care for these children.

My heart breaks for Yaris, and all the people who love and care for her. That child has been forced to "parent" her mother, as well as trust strangers. Thank goodness the people who have assisted Yaris kept her safe. Ms. Melendez Pope not only has adoption trauma, but she also has a myriad of other psychological disorders. The sad part is that I bet Ms. Melendez Pope is a "fun" and "exciting" mom at the start of any visit with her daughters, then the fun quickly turns into sheer horror.

WTH is adoption trauma? I am adopted and never heard of it or experienced it. Any trauma I experienced qas from my bio mother, not the adoption by my parents. Stop creating "traumas" to excuse bloody bad behaviour. Her issues were nkt because of adoption but from her start in life. Her parents got a damaged child that they tried hard for.

@hazelhadley-britt6396 the circumstances leading to adoption are what it's referring to.. not the actual specific adoption it's the totality and it's very real. Your story is yours and it's valid, but it's not everyone's. This woman certainly has a lot going on and I don't think anyone is excusing her behaviour but that doesn't mean there aren't circumstances leading up to where she is now.

People Google everything except "How to clearly appear during a Zoom Meeting." Sit down. Make sure your camera is at your eye level. Use plenty of lighting from behind your camera. Don't sit in front of a window. If you need a blank background, hang a plain sheet. Don't wear a hat. Cover up your chest. Sit still. Answer the question you are asked, and don't interrupt the person speaking.

You know what’s even sadder? Without being able to mandate that someone get medication (72 hour hold does nothing with chronic psychotic disorders, and that’s not always granted, so the family is powerless)- the kids are at high risk of developing some form of mental illness in their late teens. Add traumatic upbringing to a severe mental illness, VV an inability to mandate medication and you get a lifetime of suffering. It’s absolutely heartbreaking 💔

This poor child having to deal with this mother. Are we sure she has mental issues or just acting like an entitled adult child. It seems to me she threw a fit when the car ran out of gas. It also sounds like she has been in and out of mental institutions and has anyone of them diagnosed her with anything? When she was on zoom, she is acting more like pay attention to me and what I'm doing. and not someone with mental issues. I guess I need to watch the previous videos.

There is no reason for lawyers to go so long without speaking to their clients or waiting until morning of hearing. It’s on both the client and lawyers responsibility…but attys or their staff should be reaching out between hearings. Attorneys can also confer among themselves prior to day of court. Often it seems appointed lawyers in this jurisdiction are doing bare minimum (or less).

@OnTropolis
@OnTropolis 6 ай бұрын
I'm very frustrated for dad and I understand his frustration. But these kids came into care for a reason. Dad was a part of that reason. He still hasn't filed for divorce custody outside this case, and if they dismiss the case, there is no protection for those kids. If he wants this over he needs to get things situated and he needs to stop enabling mom. This case started a long time ago and there was a point he was not willing to end the relationship for the sake of the kids. I'm not being "too hard on dad" I'm looking at a really hard situation and despite his passion and upset he's absolutely got some responsibility for this situation. If he wants to be done, he needs to take steps to show the court that he won't go back to having mom around when she's unstable. Those children also need the resources available to them right now, desperately. I feel awful for him and the toll this has taken. But I also don't hear any accountability for his part in this case even opening. He only started protecting them after they were taken into the department's custody

What is adoption trauma for a 3 month old baby? I get it if they are at least a a year old. I wonder if she was adopted by a family member? If her parents were in drugs? I’ve known people who’s parents were on drugs and the affects on them is for life. Glad the step dad views Yaris as his own, from his behavior.
@robynxenis

Adoption is trauma, even in the “best” circumstance. Who knows what bio mom was doing while pregnant. If baby is growing and developing in the uterus of a person doing drugs, drinking, living in constant stress, that all affects the baby once born. Who knows what baby went through in those first 3 months as well.

No such thing as adoption trauma. I am adopted. In foster care from 2 with my parents and eventually I was signed away from the bio mother at 6. My trauma was from the bio mother. And all children going through this, the trauma is from the bio parents. There may be other trauma experienced in foster care and such. But this new age adoption trauma expression is hogwash.

Yes, the reason why she wants these kids adopted is she think she is going to get out any sort of responsibility to these kids and wants to punish the father. Relax judge, we know it is past your bedtime. The mom needs to stop putting holes in her face, and it looks stupid. Mom needs to follow the orders that have been given to her. Mute this crazy BMT. The state does not care one bit, they care about getting the kids to make their $$ off of this. They don't care about the mental pain they are causing to you. I think observing is fine. Again, this is all about $$ and that's it. I do like hearing that the judge does not want to rip kids from their parents. I would want to work with dad to help getting the kids back into his care. I think this is the best course, and how about leading him in the right direction for him to continue to become a better father and parent.
