The concept of conflating sexual preferences with personality traits is very weird imo, and in my opinion, is just a way of adding heteronormative gender roles into homosexual/queer relationships, where there should be no heteronormativity at all. The whole point of queer relationships is that they are not heteronormative. Even with all that, Stede and Ed are just two middle aged guys with some physical problems who don't seem all too familiar with what their relationship might entail. My favorite part about OFMD is that the characters and scenarios are absolutely ridiculous (in the best way) but they’re character arcs are also really relatable, so much so that you almost want to cry for them as they figure themselves out and start to be happy 🥹🥰
