@Pedja zahorjanski Inbound closing itself is a sales role many companies like have from large enterprises to small-medium businesses. Now, even though it's a legit job, be careful of anyone selling you a business opportunity to become a "closer". If you're looking to start a sales career, I would recommend interning first or starting out as an entry-level sales & business development rep and get paid while you learn.

@@patrickdang I'm seeing a lot of strange videos on youtube making "inbound closing" out to be some get rich quick scheme, trying to sell people "instructional training". Thanks for spreading the truth, you can apply to be an SDR/BDR with a company that will train you, and get paid to do it. These scam artists trying to make money off of peoples ignorance is ridiculous.

So for anyone reading. They are explaining how this exact idea perpetuates on itself. They tell you they make money from running ads or creating content, most of the time you are the inbound sale people. You call them wanting to learn and they charge you to learn. Then you become an inbound closer for fellow link followers like yourself.

That definition of outbound is a bit misleading. There are many outbound opportunities that are brought in from a funnel and a lead gen process. The ONLY difference is how the conversation starts! Inbound opportunities are a lot harder to find. This is the part that most of the teachers of these programs don't tell you...

you typically need a college degree or some form of education after high school. Inbound/Outbound sales is a numbers game, and so it requires you to put in 40+ hours a week, so its not a job you can work part time. Most companies that hire people without college degrees either require you to have several years of experience (which for an entry level job is hard to do) or leverage your lack of education against you to underpay you (not a company you want to work for).

I see your skepticism, but if listen carefully in the video, most of the largest tech companies that do B2B sales in the world have inbound sales reps. I believe you are referring to a very specific type of inbound selling related to education programs.
@RewX34 жыл бұрын
I have in been sales for years why would a large company run the ad then give an outsider the lead? I dont's see companies like an oracle or an adjacent type company doing this. I worked for the largest CCTV tech/wire company (Anixter) in the world and that would never happen. Is this more niche in a smaller business market? What type of companies would even do this? Been in sales for 10+ years with easily over 50+ million in sales at least and i'd like to hear more if you can DM. Btw don't go into the surveillance world you don't get paid for the work you put in lol.
@patrickdang4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experiences. Companies like Oracle, Microsoft, and Salesforce do a lot of paid marketing whether its sponsorships, events, and even ads to generate inbound B2B leads. But you’re correct in that they would give it to their own sales employees not outside closers. But technically, employees working at a company whose job it is is to close inbound leads are still technically inbound closers because they are closing inbound leads. Now, other companies like marketing agencies, event companies, and education will run ads to generate inbound leads that go directly to an inbound closer who may be working as a freelancer or under contract. In this situation, the inbound closer may only make money on commission and doesn’t get paid a salary. So the risk is a lot less for companies who leverage inbound closers. Also, these companies that leverage outside inbound closers don’t have to spend time training these reps since they should already know how to close. Hope that helps.

What kind of person actually sits on a phone with a sales person? Really when I buy stuff I just look up what I want, check reviews, price compare, compare specs and boom: buy or dont buy. I would never trust a stranger on a phone..I would never trust a sales person for any reason..least of all someone who works from outside the company providing the actual good or service..or would I? What's more likely to be sold by phone like this; goods or services? Who are these people whom are being sold to? This is so mysterious to me...
@patrickdang3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that perspective. Now companies like Oracle, Google, Facebook, and Microsoft all have sales people that get inbound leads who are interested in buying their products and services. For example, if a brand like Starbucks was interested in buying software from Microsoft and was looking to spend $100K USD per year, they'd like to talk to someone before making a purchasing decision because cost of the product is so high and they want to make sure it's right for them. For consumer products like headphones, digital camera, office chair (which I think you're talking about), talking to a sales person over the phone wouldn't make sense unless you are buying wholesale. Hope that clears things up.

Just curious, when you say "scammers" who exactly are you referring to? Are you referring to large tech companies as I talk about like Salesforce and Oracle who have inside sales reps? Or are you specifically referring to people who are teaching programs about inbound closing? Here's an article from Hubspot further explaining Inbound sales reps so you can get educated on how small businesses to Fortune 500 companies are hiring for sales reps who work with inbound leads: blog.hubspot.com/sales/inbound-sales-transforming-the-way-you-sell I know sometimes comments are written without much thought, but it's important to do a bit of research before making bold claims.
