I’m still laughing at that guy who was genuinely upset that you were going to drive this 1100 miles home. “You should have hired a transporter” 🤣

2:12 not in NY, we love to Salt the roads. Heck at the end of the season they put salt out just to use it up. The Government motto is: “if we don’t use it all this year, then we’ll get less next year”

Disappointing outcome but minor setback considering it’s been sitting for 20 years; except the 4 additional travel day expenses

Do you have long term plans or goals for your PD-4101 or your PD-3751? Nice to see you and Tyler working on this and not dealing with another broken motor mount👍

Was hoping to get some footage from this weekend :-)) Nice! If you knew it was a 47 bus.... why wouldn't you order the filter before you even leave? Certain things are guaranteed to need replacing for these Bus's and particularly their 671 Detroits lol Hey Sage, you going to get this one and the other turbo charged? Maybe get a 4 valve head for your 41 Bus as well [be haulin' arse if you either Turbo charge or go like Tyler's going to go with the super charge the motor].... Do an in frame bearing job on at least one of them eh? :-))

Robert Ironside Robert, I have found 6 different oil filter options on Silversides. This bus has a different style than my 4101. We just arrived back today at the bus, but you can view the updates on BusGreaseMonkey.com I’ve always been a stock guy, not too interested in making it more complicated.

@@SilversidesSage Don't think a Turbo or a supercharger will complicate it, just make it stronger. Maybe think about the propane injector for big hills [Scott did that with his 1947]. Power is power as long as the motor is a solid design which the 671 is [lots of metal between cylanders on the head and strong valve train]. The weak spot is the heat they pick up but wondering if there's a way to cool them by perhaps going old school with a scoop somewhere on the top or sides to drag air around or into the blower for extra air to cool it... or maybe a secondary radiator to add coolant to the system when needed on a warmer day]. Not much has changed regarding how to feed and cool internal combustion engines in the last 150 or so years [old technology really].

@@robertironside3166 - The weakest link turbocharging the 6-71 in this coach is NOT the engine, it's the bevel gears in the transmission. GM discovered that when they were doing development work on the 4106 with the more powerful and torquey 8V71 - it would blow the bevel gears apart under high torque loads in 1st or 2nd gear. Their solution, which worked for the next 20 years of production, was to place the bevel gears ahead of the transmission. After this simple change, the 4-spd became practically bullet-proof, even with terrible drivers who couldn't figure out how to drive a non-synchronized transmission.

Sage, have you decided to sell me that old bus in Texas so you don't have to mess with it anymore? You have already made at least two trips to Texas and still don't have it where you can drive it and you probably will have to make a couple more trips to get it road worthy and then that is a long trip to drive that thing without having a breakdown. Just thought I would ask you one more time. If you decide that I might be correct well send me a price and we will see if we can get together.
