Andy, you are somewhat correct. About a month and a half ago, Estepario had a drum off against robots. First set of songs he whooped, 2nd set not so much. So he wanted to get better and he was using one pedal and it was a triple pedal at the time of the cyborg defeat. So in between trying to get better, some people suggested using 2 double pedals. So he entertained the thought, but obviously it just sounded like the same beat being played on both until some people suggested could you delay the beat on one of the doubles. He was like wholly shnt. So he started and got to about 150 bpm per foot. 300 bpm total. Well he now owns the Guinness book record for hammering out a total of 400 bpms. Yes 400 bpms. Nuckin Futz insane, just unfrickin believable. And now he's just taking drum requests to use this new insane technique on.😅😅

The pedal doesn’t work like u described it, it doesn’t play itself. u switch it back and forth with the heel of your foot from single beater to double beater with every tap of your foot. And the guy is from Spain. That’s in Europe in case u didn’t know that either. Watch his 1 million subscriber video where he explains his life’s journey. Btw he’s over 3.5 million subs.
