As parents we always want to believe our kids over others, and I remember when my son was 10 or 11 yrs old, my neighbor, directly behind us, politely told me that my son shot out their daughters window with a beebee gun. I asked my son multiple times and asked different ways to see if his story would waiver, he stuck to his story each and every time, and so I believed him because he really was a polite kid. My son's 25 yrs old now, and it wasn't until last month that we happen to be just talking about him being a kid, when that little shit confessed he did in fact shoot the window out. After so many yrs, I still felt embarrassed that I chose to believe a 11 yr old over a 30 yr old, especially knowing it was likely he had done it. So I went pulled a $100 bill out of the ATM, marched my little self over to the neighbors and handed it to them. They just laughed and wasn't going to take it, but I insisted they at least go out to eat or something, and by doing so it would make me feel a lot better. They did finally agree to take it, and I made my son pay me righ back! Lol!😊

Truly...proud of you for dealing with it even after so many years. I had neighbor bully-parents who egged their boys on to bully me when I was 20. Their loitering, lazy boys could not bear the fact I as a young woman worked hard and had bought a scooter out of my earnings to be able to run errands and save time. They hid behind their housewall, where I had to pass by as it was the only road in and out of the neighborhood, and both brothers who harassed and mocked and insulted etc. everyday, in a jealous rage rushed at me with their vicious dog. I nearly fell off my scooter, and had to get off. The bullies' parents watched with glee. I learnt that 30 years later one of them was and is a total drunk with never having ever worked a day in his life , living in that enabler parents' home !! The other one also lives in that very home with his wife and son on the top floor!! Their poor sister they used to bully and abuse escaped to another city.
