Have to agree with others that the balance of spoken review and great sound / sequence demos is what makes your channel special. I currently have the Behringer Odyssey, and would love another synth to go with it. Struggling to decide between the semi-modular features of the K2 versus the sequencer and arpeggiator of the Pro-1... (Edited to say that if you do a T-shirt with your acid MIDI smiley logo then I would definitely buy it).

I buyed the PRO-1 mainly based on your review. I really like it. I have one question. Im looking to get the Model D. What would be the easiest way to send a sequence that sends bass notes, but also modulates the filter cutoff on the Model D ?
@PeteMidi3 жыл бұрын
The only way to control the filter with a sequencer via midi is by cc 1, say mod wheel. This can be mapped to control the filter envelope depth. Or you invest in a midi to cv device...
@MrBeen9923 жыл бұрын
@@PeteMidi Ok, ok, but you are saying that on the Model D I can modulate cutoff with the Mod Wheel through midi IN ? Thats great ! So I can send notes and automate Mod wheel. Something like you did with the UNO Synth vs Neutron video. Thanks !

Not directly the filter cutoff frequency, but the filter eg intensity, which sounds a bit different, but also nice for some filter dynamics

If you add a cem filter to the neutron i think that would cover 85 percent of the pro 1 soundcolor , i find the pro clone a bit to stable sounding a bit harsher compared to the original , the digital lfo and env's also give it that to pure quality , it's less apparent in the pro 800 since that had more digital components to start with but i have a very early serial original 82 pro 600 + gigly and even there you hear the same sidelines to the 800

The organization of this circuit is very interesting. I like the details about the exchange of midi information that you bring in your videos. I'm studying the possibility of buying this Pro1 or the Wasp Behringer module - or even a Cat. I heard that Wasp oscillators are digitally controlled - I wonder if the 6 waves of Wasp LOF are in fact analog based. What about the Pro 1 sound generator (VCO 3340, 3320 Chips)? Would they be free from "digital control"? Both have the potential for 16 notes through the poly chain. However the Wasp filters seem more complete. I have a Minilogue and I really like its analog white noise generator to produce ambient sounds, creating an immersive atmosphere in a stereo set. Which of the two do you think would offer good cuts with filter rates to make good use of white noise and other effects for these purposes? There's still the Cat to come ... Thank you very much! I've got my Pro-1 few days ago. Great sound...BUT: It doesn't play any midi note lower than C2 through both, USB Midi and standard Midi. When I switch the midi sequence in the DAW to the Behringer Model D or to another gear from Moog all is fine and notes from B1 down to C0 are to be played. I tried to chain the Pro-1 through the Model D by Midi. It has the same result, all notes lower than C1 are muted/ not to be heard. That limitation makes no sense as the bass sounds from the original Pro-1 where outstanding. So the B Pro-1 is not usabal to creat fat bass lines. That is a bummer.
@PeteMidi4 жыл бұрын
Sounds strange, I did not face that limitation, but I cannot check this at the moment...
