I think human behavior is constant and cyclical. No matter how much technology we have, our deeper primal personalities (most) will always permeate through that. I think Marcus was just someone who could make the most out of life and a genuinely great emperor that cared for his people
@mnmz83935 жыл бұрын
Not really. He simply understood human psychology and behaviour, at least, to the degree that was possible in his time. Circumstances change but the underlying processes of the human mind will remain the same.

I've been on a gradual journey to self improvement and bettering my interpretation of life over the past five years or so, my mindset has improved gradually, and I have learned and improved various aspects of my life, not without setbacks. I am constantly discovering that I am not as good as I thought I was 6 months ago, and therefore constantly improving. I've been following some of these Stoic principles without realising, and all of these videos are helping me fill the gaps, and they are filling me with ideas and motivation. I really hope to continue on this path and I think discovering these videos will help me to do so. Regardless of my life story, thanks for sharing this with me! Aurelius is now an important role model for me.

Going from ME to WE is a little more difficult when you're a misanthrope. Although most people have good intentions, they tend to be uncreative and uninspired. Trying to help someone who doesn't know what they want, get what they want, is a fool's errand. Help those who help you and love those who want the best for you - but never waste love or concern on those who wouldn't do the same in return.

Hey,I want to say that this is great,to share this content is crucial for world getting better,only question is ,are you gonna do something about this,do you believe in yourself?,or you are like yeaah this is great I agree with this,then you try it,then you lose(cause you always will),and then you quit,cause in first place you didnt even believed dude,I wont lie,not easy at all,but hey thats the fun part right;if it was it wouldnt be interesting,dude have fun or do not,its your choice,its your eyes,its your way of looking at world,dude lets face it your gonna die,I m going to die and then what happens nobody knows,you can believe in what you want,but hey you dont know for real,you better do something for yourself cause theres no much time,be selfish its coll i promise,be selfish but also respectable to others,do whats fun for you,say what you want to say,everything that is in your mind and is somewhat reasonable ,you should do it,but hey dude the basic question is ,what your gonna do about it? sometimes just sitting and listening is enough

Sacrifice is a loaded word ... and an overrated virtue. It often proves to be a slave practice. If you choose to sacrifice, be cautious and verify that the gain is worth the loss (e.g., loss of youth in return for money and security in old age can bring great heartache).

All giving does not need to be money, writings to the Christian congregations Acts 20:35 I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way,+ you must assist those who are weak and must keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, when he himself said: ‘There is more happiness in giving+ than there is in receiving.’” Proverbs 11:24-25 One gives generously* and ends up with more; Another withholds what should be given, but he comes to poverty. The generous person* will prosper,* And whoever refreshes* others will himself be refreshed
