HOW TO MAKE SIMPOL PINAKBET
Join #ChefTatung as he shares the #Simpol version of the classic #Pinakbet!
Healthy food doesn’t mean bland and boring. Take for example the classic Filipino dish Pinakbet! This recipe, originating from the Ilocos region, features the freshest, most colorful vegetables available in the market. Making it extra flavorful is the use of bagoong. Ready? Let’s start cooking #SimpolPinakbet!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup pork belly
salt
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
2 tomatoes
1/4 cup shrimp paste (bagoong alamang)
1 eggplant
3 pieces okra
1/2 cup long beans
1/2 cup squash
1/2 cup bitter gourd
1 tablespoon fish sauce
crushed chicharon

I love it when Chef Tatung pays homage to the original recipes and the traditional ways of cooking of our kababayan from other part of the country, it just shows his RESPECT! Pinag-aralan talaga, yung ibang Chef kasi puro palusot, kesho FUSION daw! Haha😀

I loved my Dad's cooking of Pinakbet and I missed it so erectmuch. I haven't tasted one that was closed enough to his cooking. Some I've had had been way too salty, vegetables were too raw, or even too mushy. So, I've been watching you make Filipino dishes in a much simpler and tasty way and I can't wait to make your Pinakbet version. Thank you. I can't wait!!!

Tried it na Chef! Simple pero masarap ung kinalabasan. Ang difference is hiniwalay kong friny ung talong, then added it only at the end. Firm pa nga ung veggies nagmukhang fresh tlga ❤ salamat po :)
