Excited to finally see you playing humans, since its the deck I've been on for over a year. I have to say, since you were so scared of rending volley, mono white humans actually shrugs off volley better than other white decks. It is easy to get above 4 toughness with lieutenant and aspirant, dauntless bodyguard can jump in the way of it, and brave the elements counters it. Constructing the sideboard is definitely the hardest part of this deck I feel like.

Not sure if it's on the list, but I've played against the green splash version of this deck (for CoCo) a few times and it always seems really powerful. Definitely a cool tribal deck

At 27:18, opponent actually used the correct mode of Heartless Act, but declined to remove any counters. 😵‍💫 Round 3 opponent appeared to be on exactly Gabriel Nassif's latest Dimir control build, or very similar. Its only ways to actually win the game are one copy of Shark Typhoon, the Halls, and also technically Notion Thief is a creature. That round 3 game 1 shows the reason why my personal Explorer build of Dimir Narset wheels has multiple BRO Teferis and Shark Typhoons and a Sheoldred and some more stuff in the sideboard... Narset wheeling doesn't actually win the game unless the opponent just scoops to it.

I always feel weird running dimir narset without more than shark/hall as a kill condition also. Except i just play one gearhulk/an ertai ontop of 3 typhoons. I was thinking about trying shelly/walkers but i feel like that should just be a diff deck

@@zjarosz Gearhulk is probably fine too. I like Teferi, Temporal Pilgrim because it works really well with all the cheap cycling effects like Censor. Not to mention, if you ever wheel afterwards, you get to cackle maniacally with your pair of 10/10 tokens and a 10 loyalty walker or whatever.

Its a terrible deck, you'll get destroyed by MonoGreen, Rakdos, Phoenix and 8 Peezy. Good luck, though, i hope you have fun and your experience is completely different than mine.

I get synergy, but how much worse does this deck accutually get if u swap brutal cathar for skyclave

So, while Skyclave is the better "removal" spell, Brutal Cathar is the better aggro card once it flips, and the upside of possibly flipping back to day to nab another creature isn't negligible. To help you ask the right question: does Skyclave add or subtract to what my deck's end goal is if I replace Brutal Cathar with it? Since this is an aggro deck, I'd argue Brutal Cathar is better at serving that end goal. It's a good question to ask for any card you are considering to add to any deck, and asking this question regularly will make you a better deck builder. ;D

Cathar is also a human so it grows from Thalia's Lieutenant and makes it bigger

If you run Extraction Specialist keep Cathar, otherwise replace 1 or 2 with Skyclave. Having Lieutenant coming back with Extraction and then pumping Cathar is relevant

Most people, including me, don't care about professional magic. According to Rosewater most people just play kitchen table magic. Honestly it seems like there are too many tournaments if anything, and so their importance gets diluted. I'm interested if there's one major tournament a year, check out the final match of that, and that's it. So I'm interested in one game of tournament magic a year.
