I’ve gone completely vegan for the last 6 weeks, after 50 years of no beef or pork. Thanks so much for your channel. It’s awesome what you do. I’ll be making it this week

Ok I feel like I owe you a comment. I’m a retired 54 year old guy with 5 kids from 11 to 25. I’ve made this one at least 4 times now and love it. Thank you. My kids are intrigued but that’s it. I’m the only one making effort to be an sos free whole plant foodie.

I'm very excited to try this recipe as I used to LOVE chicken salad sandwiches! I can tell you all this: when I made Jill's "Chicken Soup" made with soy curls, my son stopped over and said, "It smells like you're making chicken soup." So I can imagine that the texture and taste will be very close to what we were used to!! Thank you, Jill! I'm so very grateful for all of these recipes which have made my taste buds dance!❤

My mom used to make chicken salad growing up with grapes (as well as Mandarin oranges and slivered almonds). I have yet to try it with soy curls (just chickpeas)! Looks too good!

Excellent ... I love the use of sunflower seeds for the creamy base. Am avoiding cashews as they are picked by mistreated humans. Also am trying tofu. Thanks for the excellent videos and variety.l

Delicious salad recipe!!! It’s 107 here today and this made the perfect cool meal. I ate mine on a bed of greens with sliced tomatoes. The dressing is amazing. I didn’t have sunflower seeds so I used hemp seeds. I’m already thinking 🤔 of all the other things I can use this dressing for, like Waldorf salad, even wraps. 😋. Thank you.

Soy curls are staple in my house. I love the texture and how it soaks up any flavor you use. I used to get a salad similar to this at Hudson's department store restaurant in Michigan when I was a kid. I am looking forward to making this Jill's way. Yummy! 🤤🥰

Unfortunately Butler soy curls or similar are impossible to find in Australia and by the looks of that link, they are not currently available from Amazon US either... I wonder if firm tofu would work?

I'm new to this and am excited to try the soy curls but could I do a tofu spread or cream in lieu of nut or seed "cream"? Any idea how I'd do that? Any insight you have is appreciated!

Do you have a substitute for the soy? I'm very allergic
@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow Жыл бұрын
chick peas
@carolwilliams7052 Жыл бұрын
@IAmSherry12 - You would know better of course, but I'm wondering if you don't have a true soy allergy, you might just be sensitive to processed and concentrated soy such as soy milk or tofu. Have you ever had whole soy such as edamame or tempeh? The reason I ask is because soy curls are made by a special process that dehydrates the whole soybean, so it is an intact food.

@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow Жыл бұрын
You can use tamari or liquid aminos
@lisaredwine4857 Жыл бұрын
Salt. I never keep miso paste, and that's what I use instead. The miso is only (or mostly) added to give it a salty taste. Don't add much. I'd use sea salt or Himalayan salt (it's pink).
