how wonderful for Benjamin to be a part of the creation of his family's property - digging, planting and all the other activities involved. He will remember this (also the videos will show) as unbelievable memories for him to pass on to his kids one day. Memories that will always bring joy to him.... love what you are doing as a family!!!

Laura in many of your videos you speak about all the things your mother did to her property while you were growing up, but watching Benjamin out there helping dig a spot for the new trees is watching those memories for Benjamin too. When he grows up he will have those memories where he says I remember when my mom and dad and I planted those trees by the Hartley. Building those memories is a spectacular thing and sometimes you get so caught up in what you are doing you don’t even realize the memories you are creating with one another. As I said in the past many many blessings to you all. Everything is coming together. Looks marvelous.

I have watched this video three times. Laura your vision for this space is so inspired and I want to acknowledge the gift you have been given in this life. Most everyone can plant something. However, not everyone can share planting with such inspiration and love for what they are creating. What a special time of memories made with Benjamin putting his shovel to work. My heart needed this today.🙂

This has to be the best job. Make content around your garden and house, allowing you to expand both, and in the end if you wanna stop, you have a great garden, land and house with all these gorgeous plants. Instead of endless buckets of expiring makeup, for example. Ahhh just happily living vicariously through Laura and family 💚💚💚

Hey Laura and Aaron. I have been watching your videos for several years now. My daily routine after work is to turn on my computer, get comfortable, pour a glass of wine, and watch your video. Thank you! I have a request: Would it be horribly labor intensive to put together a video "before, during, and after" sort of comparison of your whole growing season this year? Beginning with maybe your "Planting Blackberries" video on March 18th going forward and hitting maybe a dozen or so areas? Perhaps stills of each area of your garden, (the berry patch, the vegetable garden, the South garden loop, the orchard, the area on the other side of the parking area where you're currently laying the stone path (stone path garden?), the cutting garden, etc.) each month or so - whenever you've hit that area again - and maybe do it with a voice-over from both of you while we see the still photos. Would this be a fun winter project, maybe? What you both loved and hated about each area? What you want to repeat or never do again? Perhaps a fun way to document and summarize your property for the season? Maybe a Christmas gift to your fans? /hint /hint

You guys are so fortunate to have soil that's diggable!! I know you say it's hard packed, and very dusty, but it's still diggable!! Our land in Eastern Ontario Canada, is part of the Canadian Shield, and it's nothing but shale, and stone, stone, stone and more stones!! Can't even dig to plant tulip bulbs without hitting stone! Planting trees and shrubs are a nightmare!! lol Your new Maple trees and boxwoods are beautiful! Good decision to choose those spots for the Maples for all of the reasons you mentioned. Sometimes it's hard to remember how big things will grow in a very few years, and spacing is key. What a sweet boy Benjamin is. Always willing to get in there and help! Making memories! :) ~~M~~

I'm grateful for any skilled worker who shows up. Most are limiting their scope to easiest, quickest, closest jobs. My gardener decided to drop anyone with a dog as it added a step of containing it, dealing with owner or with dog. I don't blame him, it's his time and a business decision.

Laura your Hartley is really the star of the show more now that it is flanked with the maples. I just love it. I am so excited to see this come together. We are developing an open field on our property just like you are and I am enjoying seeing all the plants and trees bring life to the field. Also, I planted a Brandywine Viburnum last year just like yours and wow am I enjoying seeing all the berries and color it is presenting! Love this video so much.
