For 8yo me, PVZ GW2 was too much content, that’s why I loved this game so much more than the sequel, not saying GW2 is bad, just saying I played it too young to understand some aspects like the codes in Trials of Gnomus. Update September 1st, 2021: Hi guys, it’s me again, just coming back to say I have GW2 (because one day I was bored and bought it the same day). And now that I’m older, I do enjoy the game a lot more, does suck that I missed out on a lot of special events. Also I would like to answer some questions. In retrospect I shouldn’t have gotten rid of the game (GW2), I had the deluxe edition and all my characters from GW1, the reason I got rid of it was because I got bored and didn’t like grinding for stars and doing a lot of codes and hard quests (I was a dumbass and never bothered to change the difficulty). And I also got the Z7 statue and still have it (Statue number: 1370 of 5000). I always knew that GW1 wasn’t the superior game, and I knew that when I bought GW1 back in January of 2021 to revisit my childhood, I only did it to unlock all the characters, play the game, and that’s it. I dropped it after awhile and now have GW2. And now I’m working on GW2. That’s all I’m gonna say for now, peace ✌🏻.

Gw1 is arguably more unbalanced lol, Super commando having 4 shots per clip, agent pea having 125 health, Toxic pea's splash, Fire chomper, just fire chomper, and a shit ton more, though gw2 isn't much better, they at least nerfed all of the characters mentioned above despite 2 still being S tier, also while there are a lot of broken characters in gw2, like e-pea, most of the broken gw2 characters came over from gw1, most of the newer variante outiside of e-pea, Z7 and a few others are all relatively balanced, as for the 2 character you mentioned, toxic brainz is only really broken in herbal assault, where he can farm his mode with weeds, his base is atrocious to make up for his insane mode, so I can see why you added him, but torchwood is really just mediocre lol, I would have rather said e-pea and Z7 imp and maybe even captain cannon.

The gardens and graveyards maps in gw1 were AMAZING. They flowed so well and offered so much for the play style of every class. Also the ending objectives were so much more than minigames, they were epic battles! The lighthouse objective, for example, was on its own island that the zombies had to launch themselves onto out of cannons while the plants could man giant potted flower turrets that acted as AA guns to shoot the zombies out of the sky. Attacking the mansion made you move up the driveway on multiple different lanes with cannons at the top of each lane that would fire walnuts to roll down the hill and crush zombies. These special turrets and items could also be destroyed making them sort of mini objectives. This game was great.

I thought it was amazing when it first came out, but now that I have unlocked everything, it’s not as breathtaking as I used to see it. Still, I occasionally come back for nostalgia and to just enjoy the fun. Honestly, looking back on it, it’s definitely a little overrated but it’s still an incredible game. It lacked severally in terms of content, but the gameplay and mechanics were what really brought it together. It was really more of a roadmap for Garden Warfare 2 which, in my opinion, is the entire PvZ franchise at it’s finest. Final score 9/10.

Painter is super hard to play as imo, and Astronaut I feel is super overrated. My favourite variants for each class are Soldier - Foot Soldier (I love not playing Supercommando at all, makes me feel good about myself not having to use an OP unit to do serious damage. Sometimes I choose Camo Ranger too.) Scientist - Palaeontologist (That fire damage is very helpful, so much so that he's viable at mid range too) Engineer - Plumber (Just a direct improvement over the standard Engineer. I also like the Mechanic too.) All-Star: Golf Star (Very fun to play as, I’m surprised I see so few Golf Stars.) Peashooter - Peashooter (That 35 damage per shot is beautiful. Much better than Toxic Pea.) Chomper - Fire Chomper (The Flame Spray is CRAZY op. Not sure why they made it so powerful. People would rather play as Electric Chomper, but Idk why.) Sunflower - Mystic Flower (Most underrated variant in the ENTIRE game. Does a ridiculous amount of base damage for how quick it fires, and it can be charged too.) Cactus - Cactus (Standard cactus is just my kind of character. VERY satisfying, and the variants don’t really come close imo. Good close range too. Not even kidding.) What are your favourite classes? :)

This is a fantastic video, and really brought me back to my childhood. Garden Warfare my first game for my ps4, and I played it for so, so long. So seeing this game pop up in a (kinda) recent video just makes me so so happy. Man.. I wish this game never died.

I remember grinding up to 313 to get the unicorn chomper in GW2. It was so much fun playing early on because of how uncommon of a character is was. I remember teammates calling me out for cheating because the unicorn chompers unique ability was a short warp forward rather than a burrow. This video is just a tsunami of nostalgia and I love it. And the chemist is the best character in the whole game, don't @ me.

I wish Gw1 would get a proper remaster, the maps are so fun and the art style although only slightly different from GW2 feels miles different, in my opinion. Also I think GW1 had way better customization/designs. For examine the customization “sets” and Plasma Pea in general were huge downgrades in GW2. Maybe if they did Garden Warfare ultimate edition where it mishmashed both games together and brought back all the variants and customization. I know there’s the whole deal with the new characters not fitting in the old maps but I don’t think that would be a problem so long as the Gw2 variants are still usable. That with a bunch of QoL (like bringing back specific packs so you got yo bling in one pack and yo regulars in the other, maybe renovating so characters fit, balance changes, and of course new additions) and there is a PROPER remaster to some of the best games I have ever played. Edit: Hell, they could go really crazy and do some out there changes too. I really loved the idea of tv head and wildflower from bfn and think they’d fit well in the Garden Warfare games. I feel it was easy to hate them in that dumpster fire game but having a class that is the exact same on both sides really compliments the complexity of GW. It fits a niche nicely and I could totally picture them alongside the original GW cast no problem.

There are two good reasons to come back to Garden Warfare 1: Driftwood Shores Main Street I miss the map design of the first game so much, GW2 really would feel like the wholesale crowning achievement of the series if not for the fact that so many of the maps just suck to play on. And of all the GW1 maps they brought over...Wallnut Hills, really.

Great game. Same can be said with BFN and GW2. GW2s Characters didn’t exactly work well imo. Before Citron and Super Brainz nerf. Super Brainz was better at Sniping than Melee and Citron despite being a Tank for the Plant Team had Insane Mobility. Rose outside of Turf Takeover wasn’t really a Support and was really Braindead before. Just look at the Zombie thanks to her Homing. Jump constantly and congratulations! You just played Rose! But anyways I think I’m talking too much

I love this game but I like GW2 even more. Even on PC where I play, I can still get matches for G&G in the original GW. The maps here are among the best, and while I do play more GW2 than GW2, it's fun to go back and enjoy those great maps. I'd say that the Moon Base Z minigame in GW2 where you're essentially playing a giant game of billiards is my favorite minigame of the series, but Driftwood Shores is a fantastic map with a great end minigame as well. GW2 does feel more complete, as you say; there's more to do and I like being able to play ops as either side, but the original GW is still great and still fun, even with too many Toxic Peas and Super Commandos!
