I love the sound of the Conseravtory flute so much I am thinking hard..thank you Lance for your beautiful demonstration. This is such a full and beautiful tone I may have to trade in what I already play...need to think very hard and not let my heart run away with me.

Just tried that flute from Flute World! I am impressed with that Powell scale. Very responsive and in tune in 3rd register. It is in the running for my next flute.

Indeed! What other flutes are you considering?

I tried the Muramatsu solid 9k, love that too because I currently have a DS. Another that I like is the Haynes 5% gold with soldered tones holes, N cut with platinum riser. Wow! Only drawback for me is the weight of it.@@LanceSuzuki

@@dennismiller6418I have a Haynes flute with the N Cut headjoint and it is also very heavy. But it has a very unique and complex sound. ❤ it.

I remember trying one of these flutes at an All-State Convention and I was in LOVE with it. I am a low reed player (mainly bass clarinet) who also plays a lot of flute. What really sold it to me was the warm sound in the low register and how fast the low register responded! If I had the money to buy one, I would have for sure! The people around me even said that it was a perfect match for me when listening. One last thing that really impressed me was that when I played, it felt very effortless to play anything and any dynamic still had that warm sound!

Lance, I would like to ask you how this 9K Aurumite Powell Conservatory compares to your personal flute (and what flute you currently play) - thanks!

Great question! I currently play a Brannen 10K custom flute. I think that the Powell Conservatory Aurumite is a fantastic flute. If I could afford to have an instrument like this as my 2nd flute, that would be amazing. Alas, that’s not in the cards at the moment. I think this would be a perfect primary flute for any serious student or young professional. I hope that answers your question and thanks for watching!
