I’m a seventh day Adventist- I keep the sabbath every week. But after being in the church where one of our core values is to worship on the Lord on the sabbath and rest. I feel like I have become luke warm in my faith and lost the meaning of the sabbath. The fact that a non SDA is inspiring me to continue serving the Lord in the way He asks of us and is showing their children the glory of keeping the sabbath makes me feel happy and inspired. Thank you for being willing to share!

I'm Christian and I grew up keeping the Sabbath. Now I keep the Sabbath with my own family. We attend service on Saturday and we rest from everything on Sabbath. No chores, no activities, no screens, just spending time with the L-d and reading scripture, singing worship songs. It's beautiful. My husband cooks the Friday night dinner. We have a special lunch after the Saturday service and I will prepare a dessert before sunset on Friday for that lunch on Saturday. It is such a blessing 🙏🏻

“Christianity” has lost its way - the Anointed fulfills prophecy, not replaces. He fulfills Passover as the high priest who delivers His people into the final promised land of heaven, Firstfruits as the blessed firstborn (Psalm 110), and eventually fulfilling the Lord’s Day of Judgment as described in the prophets - Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles to rule the new heaven and earth. Daniel describes that in 490 years the Anointed will warn Israel before a second destruction and elimination of the temple with sacrifices for 2,300 years. I believe Yeshua reigned in a 1k year kingdom of heaven as prophesies, and the second judgement will take place 1.3k years afterwards. Hope this was interesting! Shalom ❤

I am Jewish and grew up observing Shabbat. My Husband and I have a 4 year old daughter and find it so important for our family unit that we observe Shabbat every Friday night. My Israeli father in law always cooks a large delicious meal, we have Challah, kosher wine, say prayers, and spend quality family time together. Such a special part of our entire week!

We go to church on Saturday instead of Sunday, & we also make a special lunch meal on Saturdays and make it a special day for our families. Fridays evening are always so relaxing and beautiful to just start the rest day. My little one (4 years old) even now always looks forward to Sabbath because it’s literally the best day of the week (& we intentionally make it so). I just want to encourage you, Milena, it's amazing that you started observing Shabbat! We've been doing this in our home for about 7 years and the Lord has really used it to bless us. It is amazing to spend the whole day with Him. Even though we're not perfect, I'm so glad for celebrating Shabbat. Just as you said, there is joy and peace in it, it is something that the Lord intended for us. It is so sad for me that some people see it as a "law" thing when actually there is so much freedom in it. Glory to Yeshua ❤️

Soo inspirational!!🙏🏼 in Germany we actually have our rest day on Sunday. Everything is closed, except some restaurants or gas stations. You have to get groceries the day before. I love this because it makes it easier to rest on this day. You have to take it slow. We go to church in the morning and it feels always like a celebration. After that we mostly eat something nice like barbecue, sometimes we order food to rest from cooking and then we try to do family and quality time without phones or tv. Often we will have guests or be at someone’s house to built community. It makes such a difference! but so many people in Germany don’t unterstand that Christian tradition and fight for everything to be open every day in the week.

hallo from a fellow german. I agree with you, i love the feeling of sundays in germany. Also when people go hiking, just walking in nature and going to the cemetry on sunday. I‘m 23 years old and with every year i appreciate our sundays more. Like you said, there are people who dont seem to understand and appreciate our sundays. I think a lot of people dont understand when they are younger and think shops being closed is bad. I also have an italian friend who always complains that she can go shopping on sundays in italia when she is there for vacation and „terrible“ germany doesnt let her. I think it would really help society when we remind others why we rest and spend time with loved ones and the lord on sundays.

I am a Messianist = bible follower and believer that God says what He means and means what He says from Genesis to Revelation. Shabbat is included in this based on the 4th commandment to “Remember My Sabbath”. God gave Sabbath for man to rest in Him. I take this seriously because God does. Wow, thank you Jesus for paying off my debt! I am so incredibly grateful yet undeserving of this amazing gift of eternal life! 🙌 ❤

I highly recommend the following resources: any Sabbath-related podcast episodes from John Mark Comer and the book "Subversive Sabbath: The Surprising Power of Rest in a Nonstop World" by A.J. As a Torah observant Christian we have been keeping the Sabbath, feast days, and commandments such as food laws for years now. It’s so exciting to see other Christian’s open up to this. In Jan 2021 I had this epiphany about honoring the sabbath while reading through Genesis. God is SOOOO detailed and I wanted to honor what HE said was the sabbath. We started that same Friday night doing very similarly what you showed. The prayers are my favorite part! Even my teenager was asking “What’s for Shabbat dinner this week?!” It has so richly blessed us. Often we play games too. Ive noticed more Christians are coming to similar revelations and it’s exciting. God said the Sabbath are His appointed (holy) day! He invites us weekly!

This couldn’t have come at a better time. I can’t believe this video has been up for 9 months and I’m just now seeing it. Thank you for posting on your insta story! I needed it today. I grew up keeping the Sabbath but it was in a very legalistic way. I lost my touch with it and when I went to college I fell in love with it again (but still viewed it in a very legalistic manner) just recently my husband and I have been feeling called back to it but I’ve struggled at not being legalistic about. Jesus has broken some chains for sure already but I still had some mindset that didn’t allow me to really dive deep into my Sabbath. So, all that to say thank you. Thank you for making this video. I had been wondering about your Sabbath and I am definitely very inspired now to keep the Sabbath in a manner that honors God.

Yeah my husband works swing so it’s rough 😅 he goes from first to second then third shift (each for about a week) then he’ll have like 4 days off and it’ll start again! We usually have to observe sabbath without him.. maybe one day he’ll be able to have Saturdays off but that’s just not our case right now. I try to include my hubby when we can but we mostly do our family things without him unless he’s on 1st or he’s off.

I love love love that you shared this! Don’t be discouraged by Christians who just don’t got the conviction about the sabbath or by Jews who hate that christians go back to what Jesus, our messiah, himself did. My family practices the sabbath since 2012 and now that I have a 7 month old and am pregnant again, my husband and I try to find our way into a fitting sabbath for us 😅 since I am very weak in my pregnancies and have a lot of sickness, we celebrate mostly with my parents. It’s such a great time to talk about so many topics, visions for the future etc. I’m totally hyped about how my kids will see the sabbath. Greetings from Germany!

If you're Christian, why are you adopting the legalism of Judaism when you're not Jewish? If you believe in Christ and his coming to fulfill the law, why would you not just take a day of rest without grabbing dozens of Jewish traditions?

Taking a day of rest and observing the Sabbath is not legalism. “Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath.” Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭27‬

She’s not adopting legalism. She’s not telling people “this is exactly how you have to do it and if you don’t do it like this then you’re wrong”. She’s not “appropriating” Judaism🙄 I’m not sure if people realize this or not, but Christians worship the same YHWH the Jews do. The only difference between the two is that Christians recognize Jesus as the Messiah. Do you think God cares whether or not her family, along with other Christians around the world, are starting to observing the sabbath and His holy feasts? I don’t think so.

It's also good for us to realize that the same God who sent His Son to lay down His life for us gave those laws to His people. There isn't anything wrong with the laws and traditions He gave to His people. Jesus spoke against abuses of the law, not the law itself. While Jesus fulfilled the law and made it clear that works do not save us, He didn't tell us that the law is evil or that the sabbath shouldn't be kept.

I grew up in a methodist family, and it wasn't until I met my husband (who is Baptist) that the Sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday 😳 my whole childhood, and most of my adult life I honestly thought Sabbath was on Sunday. So now we have Sabbath from Friday at sundown to Saturday at sundown and then Sunday is a getting ready for the week day.

@@busrayalavacit is based on the scripture. Exodus 20 discusses the 10 Commandments. The 4th Commandment tells us to rest on the Seventh-Day (Saturday) which is Sabbath. You should not do any work. The Lord made the heavens and the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th Day and has blessed the 7th Day as Sabbath. It is truly a literal gift from God. If I’m remembering correctly: Shabbat is traditional of Jewish origin and it Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. A Sabbath is typically Sunday and of Christian origin.

I think the Jewish sabbath is a little more strict because it is based on Mosaic Law (Old Testament laws), so it has more structure. Christian sabbath is more about the “heart” of the sabbath, not the rules, so it’s generally considered a day of rest. There’s probably more to it, but hopefully that helps a little!

I used to do Shabbat dinners on Friday night because my father is Jewish. We had prayer in Hebrew, we drank communion, had challah bread, didn’t do any chores/cooking until basically Sunday morning, and watched a movie together after Shabbat dinner. As a Christian I so badly want to start that tradition with my family, but not with all the “rules”. More like the way Milena and her family celebrate it. And as someone else commented make it “more about the heart”. I think Shabbat is beautiful and more people should practice it.

Love this! My husband and I do this too especially since having a baby, we really wanted more structure in terms of dinner and rest and prayer, just being more intentional! We also started taking communion together as well. 🥰♥️ Our biggest thing was not making it a legalistic thing that the church commands you must do in order to be saved, but more so about our love for Jesus and wanting to honor Him! 🙏🏻 Question- what will you do if there is a family member or friends bday that is celebrating on Friday night? Like say they want to go out to dinner? Will that still count as your Shabbat dinner or do you politely decline? I’ve been a little confused about that aspect! Like if family or friends invite us to do something Friday night, should we not go have that community? Should we go after dinner? Would love your input!

If this helps, we are flexible with our Sabbath routine if there is something special that comes up, like a wedding, birthday, etc. but we draw the line there because we find that being outside the home and socializing does not give us the rest we need each week. We are introverts however so it's easier for us to rest in the traditional way than I think it is for extroverted folks. We decline invitations if it's something that could happen any other day of the week or it happens regularly and would consistently take us away from Sabbath rest or lead us down that road. We really try to keep the balance of loving God and loving others well so not being so strict with Sabbath that those in our life feel unloved, but you also have to prioritize God first and your own family before extended family and friends. Ask our Father to show you what to do, He is so good and leads us in His ways!

I don't think the Sabbath day should be taken lightly. Since it's written in the 10 commandments it is important to God. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8‭-‬11 KJV Why would God put it in the 10 commandments if he didn't care how or when we did the Sabbath? For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:18‭-‬19

And about your question... I think that God should always be our priority. If the Sabbath is important to Him then we should always keep it holy! So if there is a celebration where I know that there are people who are maybe non christians or some drink alcohol and party, I wouldn't go. If it is a family gathering with like minded people who worship God and keep it holy together and start Shabbat then why not do it together. ❤
