There is a profound theme of time progression and growth in ‘Bin Night’. The changing phases of the moon, Bluey moving up in karate class, Bingo’s progression through kindy, the crow becoming less scared, Bluey getting better at the recorder, the plant by the stairs growing, the change of season when you no longer see their cold breaths etc. The writing in Bluey never ceases to amaze.

Ppl have already pointed out that Alfie is voiced by Robert Irwin but I thought y'all would appreciate an extra fun fact attached to that which is that they had him choose what kind of dog he is and he chose a dingo which is an undomesticated canine (so technically not a dog) that's been in Australia for thousands of years. They were brought to Australia by indigenous Australians from south East Asia back when there was a land bridge they could walk the dingos across.

I've always felt that Bluey's prop design is so underrated; everything is so pleasantly shaped and colored without feeling generic, and it makes me want literally all of Bluey and Bingo's toys 😂

I read somewhere, and I don't know if it is true, that bluey uses only the colors a dog would be able to see. If that were true, that'd be awesome

@@TojiChibaYeah for Blueys character design in particular this pretty much checks out as canids/dogs are dichromatic in vision. They see within the grey to blue scale which also encompasses browns to olive beige tans and yellows in between. Although the colours would be slightly more muted less vibrant kind of like CMYK vs RGB.They will often notice and likely gravitate toward brighter shades of blue and yellow (fun little concept I’ve tested with colleagues during studies and also watched it demonstrated with African painted hunting dogs) compared to darker shades of similar colours.

I think Bandit got the cup because he knew how hot the day was and the chances of it melting slower in a cup then in a cone in the weltering Australian sun. Cones transfer the heat energy of your hands faster then a paper insulated cup.

Jay, I like how you were talking about the story in Bin Night. Something very interesting about this episode is that there is about 7 other stories happening all at the same time as Bingo's story in the background. One of those story's being Bluey and The crows lil story throughout the episode, the moon cycle, the tree in the front yard changing as the weeks go by, and more. It's very detailed.

When Jay "re-stated" Adam's already stated idea about the curtain I DIED laughing! I laughed so loudly that I actually startled myself and I just kept laughing! I watched it 3 times! "I was talking though". This was my favorite reaction to Bluey so far. You two and Bluey is always gold but this was platinum! I've seen Bin Night multiple times but I never noticed the color of Bluey's belt changing - great catch. Adam's reaction when Muffin gobbered that ice cream was visceral in the most hilarious way. Also, never share ice cream - because I don't want to learn a life lesson, I just want ice cream. When Jay said he could eat anything out of a waffle cone, I immediately said "bacon" out loud. When the Bad Mood song came on, Adam's face said "Challenge accepted." I was ready for the hooray today - thanks for the dopamine hit guys!

An excellent batch of episodes in a week when we really needed it. I love the subtle storytelling in Bin Night. Ice Cream rings very true to how a lot of kids go through a phase when they are concerned about everything being fair. Bad Mood shows a healthy way to talk to kids about emotions. Quiet Game is just a lot of fun.

For Jay: a general rule of thumb from a professional babysitter; a child can be out of your sight and quiet for as many minutes as they are old. This typically only gives them time to start implementing nefarious schemes, but not carry them out. Important note: as they get older they might start planning before they leave your sight, so you might have to just do a certain amount of time before you ask "what are you doing?" but if they don't sound suspicious you can keep to the rule.

I personally felt called out in ‘Ice Cream’. My family went on vacation and we visited some canyons when my dad bought my cousins, my sister, and I ice cream. My uncle tried to take some of mine and I kept trying to move it away from him only for it to fly out of my hands and down the canyon. I just stared for a few moments, shocked, before I burst into full out sobs and didn’t stop crying until my uncle got me a new one. I did not get the valuable life lesson about sharing because I was already half way done with my double scoop and my uncle gave me another double scoop to replace the one I lost. Probably because he knew that the only time I ever held a grudge was when it involved the foods or sweets I loved.

Man, I needed this update BAD. Adam's take on poor Red Bin getting shaken up and down until it vomits made me laugh every single time. "Ice Cream" is one of my favorite episodes (and "I didn't want a life lesson, I just wanted ice cream!" is one of my favorite quotes), apart from Bandit eating chocolate ice cream. The trick is to clean as you play bad mood... pillows on the floor? Thrown on the couch. Stuffed animals all over the floor? Thrown into a corner in a pile...its not perfect but it helps a little
