+Frank Pu ------- Util Forza6 I was sure Project Cars was the best racing game. I even bought expensive wheel for my PC. I am running Project Cars on my PC with GTX970 and it look beautiful. BUT. The cars amount and tracks are too low. Then Forza6 came out and I was amazed by its graphics - my shitty Xbox One can run a racing sim beautifuly and better than my GTX970? WTF? But the most amazing thing is that you have more than 20 zones in Forza which each one has its number of tracks. 20*4 and you get a much higher amount of tracks than Project Cars. Before Forza6 I was sceptical as you and wasnt even impressed after the E3 showcase. But I did download Forza6 demo and I fell in love with it. Best racing sim in this year in my opinion. Dont judge a game according youtube gameplay vide (compressed resolution). If you have a chance (friends or if you happen to own Xbone yourself) - download the demo, and try it. You wont regret it. This words was written from a PC Gamer that plays 99% of his time PC games.

The problem is not that on being optional or not, but the fact of having it. By putting this feature they just ensured lazy people the they will always have excuses. Aren't you feeling the games easy today? It's because of this... The people are feeling so entitled to that companies are losing courage to say that you suck and you must play more to get better results. But instead, they prefer to treat everybody as incompetent and they make these kind of things to not lose clients

Eugenio Hertz Being optional does matter because being optional is absolutely how game difficulty should be scaled. If you can make a Ninja Gaiden game that is Ninja Gaiden difficult on Normal and above yet playable for all on easy then what's the problem? The Forza franchise is an absolute benchmark for difficulty scaling that any and all developers should be taking notes on. When you make a game easy under any circumstance, sure, that's an issue. But when it scales from no skill required to infuriatingly intense, I don't see how anybody could complain about it going too far in either direction. It has both, and everything in between.

LandfillAO1 You can't have a game where an "easy" player can complete on normal and hard difficulties, because each setting will demand more from the player, and as the computer can't read our mind in real time to understand our progress, it cant measure the difficult in real time either. If you wanna use a rewind system on race games, do it on the training session. Then you wont have ANY SINGLE PROBLEM, since you´re just practicing, getting used to the track and you might wanna practice on a single section many times without having to run the whole course again. But when the race that counts begin, then no rewind, because you already had it on practice session, otherwise a rewind feels like a legalized cheat, and you´re not making the player to have fear on losing, because he knows he can rewind and redo it. But as I said before, the problem is not on using it or not, but the consequence of having such mechanisms in our present gaming culture. And this is shown by the single fact that the red shirt guy made that argument as something kinda impressive when he said that project cars has no rewind. No racing games should ever have rewinds on races, other than practice sessions. That´s what they are for.

Eugenio Hertz So what you're saying is that everybody has to play games like you want them to? That it's actually a negative to scale a game so that it can be played by anyone, as easy or difficult as possible? It makes no sense. Not everybody has time to get really good at a game. Not everyone cares to get good at a game. Some people just want to *gasp* have fun. I know, shocking, right? Listen, I play Forza about as tough as possible. Only thing I could do really is bump the difficulty up but expert seems to be just perfect for me. Winnable, yet challenging races. I do bump it up on endurance races because I have more time to reach 1st place but yeah. There is no consequence to having this feature. The people who need the feature were never going to play a racing sim without it in the first place. It's a niche genre. Forza just found a way to casualize it, while still retaining the more hardcore aspect. There is nothing wrong with it.

In short: Project cars is a racing simulator which has a bit of reality traded for fun. Forza 6 is a racing game which has a bit of fun traded for reality. (correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I interpreted it).

pCars is for people who can drive a car and know how racing works, while Forza lets 12 year olds feel like they are all driving gods in lambos and divebomb like no tomorrow in every corner and win races. Cant judge to much about Forza without having played the new one, but judging from Forza 5 and having played pCars i think its safe to say that Forza is a more forgiving game :p

+SmokerFace12 I take it youv never driven a car. At least not a powerful car. Having driven a 400hp V12 in real life as a daily driver, Forza has car handling down to a science in terms of realism. I cant speak for Forza 5 or 6, about to buy an Xbox One just to play 6, but Forza 1-4 were the best racing simulators ever made. And I used to be a huge Gran Turismo fan until Forza came out.

And all the cars sound like lawn mowers or hair dryers. I loved the GT series from GT1 to 4 but the PS3 era games were wildly inconsistent as far as quality and performance goes.

I love Forza, I ADORE the series (well, both of them), but as someone who's been playing it for a long time as more of a racing sim experience, I'm well aware of its failings in that regard. That's why it's great that Project CARS exists, because it offers those things to people who want them. It's not as good in other regards, but competition can only result in both those franchises getting even better, more polished and more comprehensive in their future iterations. Besides, as someone so immersed in Forza for many years (and undoubtedly many years to come), it's good to get a taste of something different from time to time. There's room for both, and on PlayStation I suppose the same could be said for GT and PC.

a bit annoyed the assists element of Forza wasnt bought up. you can turn rewind off. traction control, stability, ABS, clutch etc. if you want to make it a Sim, make it a Sim. if you want it to be an arcade... make it an arcade. forza is a more rounded product. i know alot about cars and racing but there are alot of techincal elements I dont know much about. Forza teaches you... PC expects you to know (or expects you to pretend to know, as is most often the case). for anyone who is comparing it on the back of pkaying forza 5.... dont.... completely different game

If you play with a controller and want to have fun, win races easily - Forza; If you have a racing wheel and pedal setup and want to actually work hard to win races and care about the little details - PCars. Assetto Corsa - If you really want to experience how hard racing is.

hello my name chris im from italy and i my self am a professional race car driver, since i was a kid i knew about forza and i have played forza since the first one what i can add to this review is that yes forza is more forgiving game in terms of actual driving the car, now if you know al the physics of driving a car the feeling the joy, the passion you can tell that projects cars its a real representasion of what actually driving a race car feels like where you have to have a practice run a qualifying run. and etc.... what im trying to say is that forza its a fun racing game but project cars its a real representasion of what driving a race car is and what you stand for .

Rewind is a cheap cop out for kids, I hate it and never use at all, if I mess up (and i do regularly) then tough shit I should drive better. PCARS is by far the better racing game and will only be challenged when Assetto Corsa hits the ps4 later in the year. I watch videos of people racing forza and every time I see someone use the rewind it instantly puts me off and I want to slap them hard, learn to drive properly and accept that in racing you will make mistakes. I can feel a rant coming on so I'll leave it at that😠

Well... here comes the rant, hahaha. Nah... it's ok, I hate using the rewind button too, but "rewind" can be disabled in the options menu. The game gives you more exp. points and many archivements if you disable the rewind button and the brake assistance in Forza 6. So it depends on what difficulty level you want to play.

I think there needs to be a Shift 3. This is a need for speed game but it's not street racing it's on actual tracks and I think shift 2 unleashed was perfect and it just needs an "update". Better graphics, all the new cars that came out, more tracks, etc.

I own both games, and I like them for different reasons. I wouldn't say that one game is better than the other because they both have very different strong points. Project Cars is of course the better sim game. Why? One word. Rewind. No "simulation" should have rewind, because you can't rewind IRL. In Project Cars, the cars aren't as tail-happy, meaning you don't start drifting around every. single. turn. When playing with a wheel, I actually like Project Cars' handling more (though after tweaking). Forza has a lot more cars from a lot more manufacturers (great!), and licenses from all types of racing institutions (though this last part doesn't REALLY matter. Who cares if it's called Formula 1 or Formula A..seriously.) Forza has way better gamepad control, for people who play that way. Forza doesn't need you to manually adjust the steering wheel settings for every. single. car. in order to drive them properly. Although it's nice that Project Cars allows you to adjust settings based on the car (and even track!), the wheel/car settings could've been way better from the start. Forza 6 definitely feels a little more arcade-y with the cars drifting as much as they do, as well as rewind. It's still within the sim racing realm, but Project Cars is champ when it comes to sim. Forza 6 is definitely for the car enthusiast who isn't all about SIM racing, yet still likes to drive in games without cops chasing them. Project Cars weather system is absolutely amazing, and the time acceleration is great. The fact that you can pick 4 different types of weather through a race is just fantastic, and the day/night transitions are amazing (those sunsets.. love 'em). Forza does however have better rain effects (though only by a little), and the puddles are great fun. I love how the wheel pulls to the side as one side of the car goes through and starts to hydroplane. Project Cars has a much better damage system. Those cars can explode to pieces, which is fantastic. Forza doesn't do this.. I drove a Bugatti Veyron down Mulsane (old) straight into the wall at 236mph and there wasn't even a dent.. and damage was on! WTF? Forza Vista. This is a major reason I bought this game. I absolutely love just sitting on my couch looking at all these cars up close. It's pure car porn. Project Cars allows you to actually practice a track and then qualify for a race. I love this, even if it takes longer. Getting pole position is great, rather than randomly being put in 12th place in a grid of 16. Forza allows you to put Nyan Cat and Mr Sparkle on your car. Project Cars does not. Final thoughts: Forza is a fun game that has nearly unlimited pretty things to look at and gawk over, while Project Cars is for the more serious racer, and brutal in the best way possible.

I have owned forza 1-4 and I have played iRacing, project cars, asseto corsa, and what it comes down to is if you love cars and car culture, then forza is your game. If you love racing and finding the perfect racing lines and conquering racing tracks, then project cars and asseto corsa are truly wonderful. I do wonder if they will ever have a multiplatform game that is a sim and has loads of cars and tracks. That would be great competition indeed.

Project cars is fatally flawed. To provide all those setup up options which are fantastic and then not allow you to save multiple setups is just madness. The failure to patch this immediately means any racing game is better, including Forza 6!

My step brother races in the American Le Mans and he absolutely loves Project Cars with my G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel, I myself am a huge fan of Forza but if Project Cars had the same amount of content, there would be no comparison.

Been a huge Forza Fan since Xbox 360. Used to be a bit GT fan but after waiting so long for it on PS3 I was a bit disappointed. I felt Forza and GT were both great but didn't understand why it took so long for GT to come out. I've had a PS4 for 2 years now and couldn't get myself to buy Project Cars and I missed having a car game. Got a Xbox One S for Christmas and decided to try Forza Horizon 3 instead of getting Forza 6 even though I planned on buying both at some point. Forza Horizon 3 is easily the most fun I've had with a car game. This is the first time I've gone with a Horizon game and love the open world concept in a driving game. Now on to what I think of Project Cars. I noticed going through the Xbox one store game section that for Gold members Project Cars was available free (I think it was only for 7 days though.) I downloaded and have been playing for about a week. I can't believe I never bought this game for the PS4! It's awesome! Is it better than Forza 6? I really don't know but all I can say is with Forza 7 coming out in the fall and because I'm still having fun with Horizon 3 I've decided to hold off and not buy Forza 6 right now. My birthday is this month and was planning on it but don't see a reason to blow $60 on Forza 6 when I have two car games I'm having a lot of fun with. The question will be will I buy Forza 7 or Project Cars 2. I'm still leaning toward Forza 7 but I've only had Project Cars a week and really love the game. I do miss the rewind function when you are learning the ropes. All I can say is giving this game away may have moved toward the Project Cars camp. I can't see myself not buying Forza 7 so if I buy Project Cars 2 more than likely I'll end up with both. Anyway that's my take.

I've played both games extensively and I just have to say Project CARS is the better one.It has better physics,better sounds,better looks and Forza just can't compete with it.If you don't believe me get the game now and compare it to any other racing game out there and you'll see why Project CARS is the best out there.Sure Forza has variety but the experience of racing is just better in PCARS.People shouldn't automatically take games at face value......just because it's a forza game doesn't mean it's the best out there.

Its a different game. If you want "REALITY", Real cars, real circuit, real official rules and so on, choose project cars. And damn racing formula A (one) in Project Cars on 1440p 60 FPS ultra, i can't find it anywhere. But if you love to choose a hundreds of cars, choose forza. Even i love to drive Lamborghini on countryside with penis sticker on the body (Forza Horizon). I can create my own car plate for my Ferrari 250. You can't choose which is the best, because i played both of it, and i never feel like "Yep this is perfect"

I'm a huge Forza fan and I think it is the best racing franchise RIGHT NOW, but the quietness of the Gran Turismo people is scary. Forza has pumped out three games already for the next gen xbox while nothing has yet to come from the play station's racing King. This leads me to believe the next GT is going to be a monster. Hell, if they just ported six and called it seven it would be a killer game.

Why do people insist that a good racing game consists of 60fps. It's not just the graphics you should focus on. FOrza lets you do alot of swaps, customization and such, but is the equivalent as calling Need For Speed a racing simulator. In Forza (While circuit racing) you are either going on a straight line or understeering.

Project CARS is the closest that console players are gonna get to a sim. I always felt that graphics and car selection was second in line after tackling tracks, physics and weather effects. I honestly don't think you should even be playing P CARS with a controller, it's meant for a wheel. I am a long time Forza player when I was younger but eventually I got into PC building and finally made enough money to build a real nice sim pit! Forza is still the go to game for Xbox no doubt, as is Gran Turismo for Playstation. But PC sim racing is just on another level! Serious hardness and a real sense of reward when you do good. The community is much more serious and usually avoid any contact unless mistakes are made. THAT IS NOT CONSOLE RACING! You can't do a single race on Forza or GT online without someone ramming you lol. Im sure they have non contact and all but that's just no fun.

ok, I haven't tryed forza 6. My last experience is with forza Motorsport 4. I have to say its the best experience i had so far on a racing game. The controls are flawless and you can almost feel the weight of the car during cornering. That's a great feeling. I believe that the same control quality is incorporated in forza 6. Now about project cars, it is already two days i am totally lost in the control settings. The control presets are so bad you can even play it for 1 minute. Graphic wise thumbs up to project cars though, but this by itself is not capable of feeling the gaps.

I understand that some people really love project cars for various reasons... But I honestly don't understand why it's considered good. I found the car selection limited, the campaign progression difficult to understand, the UI needlessly complicated, and the graphics a lot less impressive than advertised (I have a GTX 970). Am I doing something wrong? Did I not download an important part of the game? Is there something wrong with my settings? Right now I feel like it's only advantage is the track options e.g. Weather, time of day, etc.

As both a PC gamer and console gamer I say Project Cars can go screw itself. I buy 80% of my racing games to play on consoles because I just like chilling on the couch and racing, and I have a wheel for my Xbox. When I bought Pcars I was so excited. I opened it up an tried first with my xbox controller and after 30 minutes I said screw that and tried with a wheel which was ten times better. But as I was racing my car would jump around the screen and my steering would be late because the lag was so bad. I turned down all the settings and hardly any improvement. I'm like "okay it is still a new game lets give it some time maybe there will be more patches for lag"-nope. Then I hear they are making a new one?!? Fuck that. I know it is much better on the PC and after learning that I am not alone with the console issues it just makes me wonder why did they even make it for consoles? Forza to Pcars for me is no competition. More cars and car customization is critical for me, and no LAG.

Ok, so I've played Forza 1-5, Forza Horizon 1 and 2, Asetto Corsa, Project Cars, iRacing, and Shit Club (See what I did right there?) and coming from the perspective of Console vs PC the difference is night and day. Forza has undoubtedly been able to achieve great things on limited consoles with graphics and physics, but when you head Forza against PC simulators like Project Cars there's no comparison. ESPECIALLY when using a wheel and pedals. I've coupled the Logitech G27 with my rig and it's stunning! Project Cars and Assetto Corsa with everything graphically maxed and getting over 100fps is jaw dropping. Now that being said, I'm still a huge Forza fan, but 5 left a bad taste in my mouth swaying me to go PC. Now think about this: If Forza were to be released on PC, THAT my friends, would be the pinnacle of racing!! LOL

I love both Forza 6 and Project Cars. There are a couple of key difference between them though. Forza 6 is a Semi-Simulator, because of the amount of cars and the possibility to upgrade your cars will make it extremly hard for the developers to simulate the handling of the cars and make an exact representation of there real life counterpart. Also Forza 6 is not that great with a wheel because of the 240 degree turning radius of the wheel in cockpit cam. And in my opinion the bad sense of speed makes it hard to calculate the perfect breaking point. That said i have put far more hours into Forza then in Project cars because that game lacks content which is said because the physics engine and the handling of the cars is really, really good. The thrill of driving a P1 with my Logitech g27 is fantastic in Project cars. They complement each other and i don't want to choose either one of them.

Asetto Corsa is in exactly the same spot where Richard Burns Rally used to be... They are years ahead in terms of realism and moding... But they are lacking in visuals.... So RBR lost the fight to the more eye candy Colin McRae Series... And it seems like Asetto Corsa is loosing the fight to the more eye candy Project Cars. I really hope that Stefano and the team from Kunos step up big time in visuals...
