Even before losing Brok, he took damage by ACCIDENT from Atreus. Even then he still has a feeling of little forgiveness. 'I'll forgive you eventually' Sindri is the type of dwarf that just clings and hangs on to what he thinks that could harm him and comfort him, at least in the back of his mind. I think his vengeful and spiteful nature after Brok's death could change him permanently and not come back to the Sindri we knew before Brok's death. Even if he moves on, it will not be the same for this character.
@pforgottonsoul

@@kumaira_arts i don't think he's that spiteful just yet, at the funeral he seemed like he was grieving but he didn't really lash out against kratos when kratos brought up Brok. @@dongianlazero when I said I’m glad, I mean he had up to here with all the shit given to him from Atreus to Odin. Sindri meant well from the beginning, but thanks to Odin he has been a completely changed person. If there’s anyone that truly deserves to end Odin, it’s him. Killing his brother was his final straw. Still, he really didn’t deserve any of it. Not once. I thought Atreus talking shit to him in GoW was brutal when he doesn’t deserve it. He was merely ranting and nothing more. But Ragnarok, really sets him off. So there’s my complete opinion on Sindri. I didn’t want to explain myself before ‘cause I thought that one paragraph was enough to give many GoW players an idea. Odin destroyed his spirit. Thus Sindri returned the favor. An eye for an eye. So yeah. I feel bad for Sindri. Again, he never deserve any of it.

You can tell that over time, Sindri gets increasingly aggravated with Atreus. Whatever they talked about before Kratos came back with Freya, his transformation into a bear and attacking Sindri. When he comes back, he’s clearly giving Atreus the cold shoulder. I was hoping that they’d find a moment eventually to talk and make up, but… then Brok died, and that was just the breaking point. It all rushed out, and as a result… we have who Sindri is now. Granted, if you trace it back far enough, Odin’s manipulations play a part… but honestly? The fact that Atreus left after the story ended was… a big bummer for me. Because we can’t even have Atreus try to work things out, or even properly apologize. On a more comedic note, if Brok were still around, I can only see him smacking Sindri upside the head or something. He was too good for us…

What worth is even a trinket like a replicating ring, vs helping a friend, and doign what they can to prevent ragnarok? On a personal level I relate myself to Sindri a lot. I used to be like him, getting out of my way for others and helping them until they reach their goals, giving my things to others easily without them asking for it in the first place. I knew the term "nice guys finish last" but I still wanted to be the nice guy. as years go by, I finally learnt that I need to be nice to myself, I still help others, but learnt that I can not be there for someone else all the time. there has to be a limit on how much I can go out of my way for others. The nicest part of me is gone. Sindri's character has strike me deep and reminded me of my old days.
@amberanime

Mt pet peeve is when ''nice'' people offer you all these things and help you did not ask for, but do apriciate, into a weapon to use against you when you dont return the favor. Like you exploited them. When people have the disease to please, thats on them. You dont owe anyone anything if they offerd it freely. If people have expectations after helping you, it's not really helping. I do love helping people. And I also sufferd from the disease to please, sometimes still do. But I have shaken the bad habit of blaming others for me going to far in helping people at my own expense. I needed to learn balance between being nice to myself and others as well, and I am still learning. But when I go to far again I realise I simply didnt balance it well enough (or realise somebody I am helping is in fact a jerk which does happen). But some people NOT jerks can not always return the favor either. May that be for mental health reasons, emotional reasons, financial reasons. Not everyone works the same, and can offer the same kind of support. If you ever wish to help anyone, to be kind, to be nice, make sure it's genuine and done without any expectations. Dont want anything in return, and likewise guard your own boundries in how far you go to make sure you stay healthy and happy after your help has been given.
@waifung3367
@waifung3367 Жыл бұрын
@@amberanime Over years of helping others, I have learnt that there is a limit of how much I should do. like I said in my last comment, the nicest part of me is gone. a few minutes to help an old lady to carry her belongings is fine, but anymore than that is a reflection that those people do need serious help, and that is when I would think if it is right to continue to help them. the real help for people is to help them to a state where they can help themselves, an outsider can only help so much, but when one can help him or herself, then that is the real help they deserves.

There could be a DLC for Atreus story or Krastos story that could go deep into the relationship between Sindri with Kratos and Atreus after Brok's death. Maybe the DLC could reveal the next land that Atreus or Kratos participated in. I'm not sure my theories are correct but since there are only 2 parts of Kratos adventure in Norse Mythology. So either there will be a DLC about Sindri or the next game will be.

Imagine if Kratos was not too traumatized to properly discipline his son. He trained him well, but Atreus really lives up to that Loki name.... Brok was actually the smart one, but the piece of soul he lost is what made him so blunt and crass. This is evidenced by the riddle and figuring out tyr. Yeah, and although kratos is only looking out for Atreus’s safety, Atreus is too fixated on the prophecy where Kratos DIES and is doing everything he can to stop it from happening. It’s fascinating to me that Odin is a foil to both Atreus AND Kratos. Vaguely spoilery ahead, be advised. Atreus seeks truth, information, self discovery, and the answer to his fate. Discovering that his fate will lead to something horrific leads to terrible consequences for him and others (as he perceives it). Odin is much the same. But Odin’s reactions closed his heart to the feelings of others. Atreus chose to empathize, and this helped him steer his fate. Turning what was foreseen to happen into a future of his design. As for Kratos, they are near polar opposites. All the same they have their through-lines. They are both fathers to cantankerous sons. Both in the position to guide their families and forces. Both weathered with age, and the wisdom of Godly virtue. However, where Kratos accepts that his actions have consequences, works to answer for them and learns to break the chains of hatred, Odin is blinded by his singular obsession with the Truth. He cannot see the harm his quest is causing others. This gets further emphasized by their approach to destiny. Kratos understands that futures and fates are often muddied and misunderstood by their presentation, so he changes his fate not by actively fighting it, but ignoring it to make decisions of his own choosing and reasoning. Living IN the moment, future be damned. Odin takes the information of the future as gospel and obsesses over ways to destroy paths to it. This unknowingly sets down the bricks of the road to Ragnarok with his same actions. So saying, Kratos ignores that there is a prophecy, while Odin ignores that there is a choice. I could talk about how Odin is driving his family apart while Kratos is trying to forge a family, or how Kratos LEADS his army while Odin hides behind his…but it is the idea of Fate that binds the three together, and their perception of it forges their futures. Ultimately, that is my point. You are not bound by Fate unless you let yourself be bound. You *always* have a choice, and your actions *always* have a consequence, both to yourself and others. The point of this game’s story is to teach Atreus that very lesson.

While Atreus is absolutely aggravating and it is his fault for betraying not only Sindri's trust but also causing him a large amount of pain this game. Kinda easy to see why he acted the way he did: He learned that his father is going to die soon, which made him freak a whole lot about it, and he doesn't want it to happen. So, in order to prevent it from happening, he will take every measure to prevent it from ever happening, "ends justify the means" sort of thing. Plus, he is a teen, and often teens make the most hot-headed people in the world. He also made a promise not to tell people about Angrboda and Ironwood or else Odin will know and raid the whole place, not even to his own father and he intends to keep it that way. His father doesn't trust him because he is keeping not only 2 really good secrets that he has to keep, but also because how he is acting lately, that will definitely make someone really frustrated, Atreus more so. It is no doubt Atreus is at fault for Sindri's pain, but he certainly could make his choices a whole lot better.

Atreus is in by far the toughest spot for anyone in the game. He's walking straight into enemy territory where his only safety is Odin. He's constantly fed information by Angrboda and Tyr/Odin about being a chosen one, he's trying to find out what God he's meant to be, he's one of the last giants and given a massive amount of responsibility by them while also already trying to defeat Odin and save his father. Kratos only wants to protect Atreus and everything he does is centered around that, Freya to defeat Odin, brok and sindri to assist them. All of them have 1 goal while Atreus has several things to accomplish which he HAS to do alone.
