I am 65 years old. I started out at 30 pushups a day and now after 30 days I am up to 80 pushups a day. I also do 100 jumping jacks, 3 one minute planks, 50 leg lifts and 300 arm curls every day no exceptions and I feel great. It is very motivating.

I'm 41, a full time single dad, and I have a very time demanding career. Getting in shape can be tough. In the past few years, I have let myself go. I saw your first video and thought, "yeah, I can do that." So I started doing daily push ups with the expectation of 100 per day. The first few days, I was only able to do about 50, then 70, then after the first week, I was up to 100 per day. 5 sets of 20, knock em out in bout 20 minutes. Now, I'm doing 200 push ups a day, same set regiment just twice as much. I feel stronger, my chest and arms are growing, and people are beginning to notice. It's been almost two months and I'm just going to keep going. I have a new goal now. 1000 push ups a day by Jan 1 2021. So, thanks man.

Wow always the need to be so technical about everything! I am a former Army Soldier. When I signed my contract I weighed 135 lbs. At 5'7" according to the Army. I still measure myself at 5'8.5". But that's another story. Anyway after 6 months of training, bootcamp/advanced training, I weighed 165 lbs. The human body does adapt to it's actions. Of course my goal was to gain muscle. So I did start increasing my caloric intake as time went on. But a good friend of mine also got recognized for losing over 40 lbs at the same time. So wrap your head around that! In theory you need to give the muscles time to recover and regenerate if all your trying to do is look bigger. A good night's sleep is all the rest your body needs to recover if you condition it that way.

the problem with doing only pushups for example is you get imbalances like the kyphotic posture you see in the after photo of the thumbnail, since the front of the body is much stronger than the back very important to have proper structural development to avoid problems in the long term, if you can't have the equipment to do everything at home a gym is valuable

I remember working at a lumber mill stacking hardwood. The guys there were strong as hell, doing that everyday for 10 hrs a day. You'd get the occasional piece of 12X12 hardwood that weighed up to 450 lbs. you had to drag onto a pile by yourself while standing in inches of sawdust. Even the light stuff was heavy. You never had rest days so your body would just adapt.

Chest and shoulder have always been my absolute weak points and I'm trying to improve on that and carry on with more workouts for the whole body as soon as the 30 days are over. Almost 7 years ago I challenged myself to do 200 push-ups every day for a year...well that year came and went and I did my 200 pushups every day, no matter how I felt and the results were great and I decided to just go ahead and keep it up and now, almost 7 years later I’m still doing 200 pushups everyday, haven’t missed one day, and it’s just became a part of my life at this point. Next I’d like to either up it to 400 per day for 3 months or start a pull up challenge of some sort or a 200 biceps curls every day for a month challenge and see what happens! Your body adapts to what you challenge it with, the greater the challenge the greater the adaptation. Very cool to run across your video, I hope all is well and thanks for posting!

You are one of those - and the first one - that encouraged me in doing pushups and setting a target per set and in total. After a couple of months, when it was hard doing 20 pushups in a set and 100 in total/day, I have now reached a goal of 60 pushups in (at least) one set and 200 in total per day. As for today, I´m proud to say that I have been able to do my 200 pushups in 4 sets (60+60+50+30) within 35 minutes and has strength to do more of them, but I am now thinking of doing more advanced variants to increase my strength as well as my stamina. Fun fact: I hated doing pushups a year ago, now it´s a challenge in doing more with less time between sets and going further to more advanced variants. Thank you for your encouraging video!

Great job mate. I changed my lifestyle in March this year after my 46th birthday. Went plant based and started working out. I lost 26lbs of fat, and developed a lot of strength in doing so. Like yourself it wasn't about "body sculpting" for me, it was about energy and strength. But having said that, my body now looks a lot better than it did for most of my adult life - and I feel so much fitter. If I had any advice to anyone who wanted to start this, I would tell them "don't even think about doing it - just start doing it!" - I've found the journey quite easy in that I've had no motivational issues, mainly because I don't think about doing it. If I only have 15 minutes one day then so be it. If I have 2 hours to exercise then great! How long as I do something every day (rest days excluding) I'm good. So yeah. Awesome seeing guys like you on the same path.

I think it is hard to explain to people sometimes how "everyday" strength is different from body building. Why do you never see bodybuilders (extremely rare) as Navy Seals? Because huge muscles are an obstacle to endurance and vigilance. You can't be in a war and move 24/7 being that huge. To each their own of course.

Wait wait wait, what are the pull exercises we need to balance out pushups? I was doing pushups, curls, some shoulder exercises and ended up with some fucked arm problems that still persist a year later and I've actually stopped exercising for several months now to hopefully let my tendons heal. I developed muscle adhesions, too, I think (I think they're also called "knots") and what appeared to be "tennis elbow". I think most of my problems came from he knots in the triceps (pulling tendons too tightly) and the result is my elbow and shoulder got fucked up. I wasn't doing any pullups because I *can't* do any pullups, but I was doing curls, lateral raises and arnold presses. I was taking great care to make sure my form was correct so I wouldn't wind up with shoulder injuries everyone talks about and then I wound up with what appears to be the shoulder injuries everyone talks about. I can't lift my right arm and make a circle without my shoulder popping now. I'd love to know what pulling exercises balance out pushups. Thanks

For doing push ups only and checking diet, its adequate change. But it´s not huge. Doing push ups every day will increase your endurance( being able to use your strength longer, more often). The muscles aren't actually bigger/heavier. It´s like going from 1700rpm to 2200, the engine doesn't get bigger it just takes more fuel, and provide more power.
