Puzzles and Survival: Gear, Chip, Modules and Cubes Overview

A highly requested video covering the topic of enhancing gear. When I say "gear" I mean that to include basic commander gear as well as chips, modules, and cubes. This video is meant to cover all general aspects of enhancing gear. While I can't tell you exactly what you should upgrade and in what order this video is designed to give you the information you need to make smart decisions for your next upgrade! It is a big topic and if needed I may make more specific videos about each type of gear later. In the meantime I hope this helps! Really good info here, I wish I knew this back when I first started! You figure out early on what you will run with sometimes without even knowing you have 'chosen' a direction, and for people like me, you just blindly upgrade everything not realising the effect it will have. It becomes a lot more difficult later game to change your direction due to the costs involved. So if you know new players, or early game players push them to this video, it is the best thing you can do for them! There is no reset option for these fields (that I am aware of at least) so once you spend the materials it is gone so you want to make sure you are spending it on the things that will help you best in the game. If you have no patience and want to enhance using real money do yourself a favour and wait for specific events like Ace Commander, Break Loose, Cube, Material, Eva/Module events so that you can maximise the money you are spending.

I wish I knew all this starting out too! I've changed directions once or twice not only in gear upgrades but in spending rss in the wrong places (for me). So it is important to know what you want to do in advance and pick a direction. But I will add it is a dynamic game and sometimes you have to change direction even at great cost (not necessarily money, just time and energy) to adapt to a changing landscape. There is a way to recycle promotion material to enhance material and you can unequip a piece of gear and reequip a different piece so you can consume the gear for enhancement purposes. I don't recommend this and did not cover it in the video simply because it is something I don't recommend and have never done myself. If anyone wants more information on this in particular let me know and I can do a side video just on that. Thanx as always for your great feedback and sharing what you have learned in game too!

I'm definitely two troop then general. So mine is Fighter/Rider predominately, in that order. So whatever materials I get, I apply to fighter stat boosts first, then if I have enough left over to do more but not enough to reach another lvl on fighters, I apply to riders. After doing that, I usually leave the materials for later unless there is an overall troop boost that I can spend material on to get (like in eva, I'd spend on my fighter stats, then rider, then troop stuff and once in a blue moon, spend on shooter, haha. So I do generally the same with my gear n such as well. Another great vid, thank u as always!

That's awesome! I definitely recommend not completely ignoring a troop just for the sake of being super strong in another. While it is helpful to do exactly as you say, focus on one then a secondary, levelling up the last troop can be beneficial since the cost will be much less. Just a small adage when purchasing chips and modules from the various shops it does marginally work out better value for tokens to buy the 3 or 4 star enhance materials than the 1 star ones but hey every little bit helps right

It definitely is a better buy but that is one reason the more powerful the material the smaller the cap. Promotion 2 material usually is capped at 10 while promotion 1 material has a higher cap. That's why it's good to spread out the bigger material over time. Thanx for the feedback!

I like your tutorial, but in the chip part, what does the boot, circle, shield, gas mask, armor and pistol represent

Technically chips go into gear. The boot is your gear boots. The circle is a ring. The shield is your shield etc. Its just a placeholder for where the chip goes. No other significance that i know of.

@@ValenceRing The game isn't very helpful and you are being too general. Each tabbed icon represents stats that aren't labelled. But can you tell us what each one corresponds to? I don;t know why the game makers would mix stats under different icons. Please and thanks!

The chip boost is just for chips it doesn't affect the gear at all. All boosts are combined from all sources.

Troop chips are most commonly gotten from winning in arena and getting into hero duel glory . However they may have added more ways to get troop chips I'm looking into it. Good luck!

Evening and stupid question, I just bought the research and build tech gear. I see a huge difference and wanted to do a before and after video and should’ve did it before hand. I noticed it says unequip but if I do that will I lose it for good or be able to reequip it? Assuming you may know. Thanks again!

Good question I've never tried. However my assumption is that it doesn't get destroyed. I accidentally unequipped a gear piece. It doesn't disappear but you do lose the stats til you reequip. I can't imagine that build or research gear is any different.

I dont understand the layout of modules with multiple levels for level 16HQ, then lvl 20 HQ, etc. Do I need to max the lower lvl 16 HQ level before moving up to building up the modules for lvl20 HQ? Is that correct?

So each module set unlovks based on hq level. The last set doesnt unlock until hq 33. However once unlocked you can level up any of them in any order however you see fit. They are each independent and dont really on anything else.

Valence ring under the chips menus what are the foot /gun/ shield / gas mask/ such and such mean ???? What is the difference with the blue glow and the yellow glow in the back ground ?

Most of that is just aesthetics. Has nothing to do with actual gameplay.

I see a lot of people focusing on gears that give ATK to the specialized troop. But that means the other 2 options are DEF HP for non main troop type. Isnt it better to go for DEF HP of you main troop over just ATK? Not sure if youve done experiments to see if sole ATK boost is better than DEF HP boosts

So in general attack is what is going to give you the best result. Especially when it comes to lairs and certain events such as attack on destroyer. Def and hp are definitely important and maybe more important for certain troops (say fighters). But when i do gear upgrades i always focus on the 2 gear pieces that give attack for my main troop first. Then the next two will be for def and hp. Im not saying its the best way but it definitely seems to be very effective.

It is to my understanding that it is best to have the highest star/level on the highest slot open and low west star/level on the lowest level. I was told it gives you the best stats on your troops. Do you know if this is correct?

I’ve been playing this game for about 2 months almost and still don’t understand stuff. I have a might of about 22 mil but I still get destroyed in duels and my sanctuary gets attacked. They destroy my sanctuary and they barely lose any troops or anything. When I check their attack and gear percentages, they are well in 100%+. I watch your videos. I’m just not sure how to get better. I’m a major generalist but don’t understand how to specialize in something. My special attacks hardly do any damage, yet people I fight hit me with 1 and I’m dead. I know I’m all over the place. I need a puzzle and survival for dummies. 😬

Specializing just means focusing upgrades towards one troop type versus spreading upgrades out across troop types. I recommend shielding if you are getting attacked alot and get your stats up. Good luck!

Is there any significance in the 6 different chip symbols?

Not really. What they correspond to is the 6 main pieces of gear. So you can think of them as attached to that piece of gear. But it's just symbolic, it has no affect on gameplay.

I have cube event on going, but I have no idea where I can get cube material. Chip material we can get in ruin shop, module from pit shop, cube from reservoir war? Reservoir shop do not even sell 3* cube.

Once you have unlocked cubes then completing daily quests will give a cube box that rewards random cubes, cube material etc. In addition material and promote choice boxes can be used for cube materials. Res war shop provides a place for cube enhancement material etc. And there is always the mall. Hope this helps!

@@ValenceRing thanks for the info. I guess cube event is for player with HQ lvl 25 minimum. I am still far away than that. I feels like there is a limit for f2p players. Once your HQ level is above 22, we have to spend some $$ to keep going up. Which item you recommend that it's worth the dollar we spend? Is it builder+researcher gear? For player who live in develop country, which salary is very low, it is quite hard to keep spending $$ in this game. Some heroes also only can be acquired with we rank in top 100 globally, which means you have to spend tons of money.

@@sandychandra1122 it may seem that you have to spend money to succeed and it definitely makes it easier but the reality is if you save most of your rewards and use them during events that give points for them then it is very possible to be ranked and win some of those harder to get rewards. Are you going to be able to do that every event? No probably not. But saving until you can complete an event will allow you to win. Spending money helps but outside of a few things is not a requirement. Build and research gear is very helpful and I do recommend at least 3* sets of each which should only cost a little bit. But you should only spend if you can afford to and you want the benefits of those purchases. If you only want to spend a very little bit then I only recommend purchasing things that you will have for the duration of the game. I hope this helps.

@@ValenceRing Where do we can get ironclaw? Do we have to purchase it like scarlett? There is an event called doomfest, but the chance to get it is real hard. Do you have any suggestion?

@@sandychandra1122 while it is not easy to obtain early on, there is the possibility of getting lucky in doomfest divination (not very likely) or the main way most players will be able to acquire ironclaw is by completing ultimate challenge level 170. Probably one of the best rewards in ultimate challenge you get 20 ironclaw frags for completing that level. The next reward to look forward to in ultimate challenge is level 200 drops 50 Phoenix frags. Which is a pretty big deal. So it will take time and patience and some hard work but you can absolutely acquire ironclaw for free. Good luck! And I do have videos on tips and tricks for ultimate challenge as well as game play footage from some of the harder levels that you can see for some tactics in those levels. Hope this helps!

So you can buy 3* battle gear from the mall but that costs 9.99. What you are probably going to want to do is join an alliance. Go to the alliance shop select the Gadget tab and under there you will see 2* battle gear. Save up enough alliance coins (shouldnt take long) buy 1 of those and then promote it to 3*. Just by completing a few events or close you should be able to quickly get enough promote material. Then you'll have a piece of 3* battle gear which should satisfy the requirements of your task. Once you unlock them at gear refinery level 25 then you will win them for free by completing daily quests or you can purchase them in the mall.

Well the material for promotion and enhancement is different so you'll do both simultaneously in most situations. However when looking to spend your resources on material focus on promotion material over enhancement material since promotion also increases enhancement level. So for instance in ruins you can use ruin coins to purchase chip promotion or chip enhancement material. Focus on the promotion material. You'll still be receiving enhancement material from other events etc. Good luck!

What is the best troop to Focus on if there is one

Technically all troops are good. Riders are the easiest to beat higher level zombie lairs at lower might but outside of that each troop type has its function and is useful. The only reason to specialize is if you want to be competitive early on and are having trouble playing balanced. Then focusing on one troop type will allow you to get strong quickly for that troop type. Later in game you are going to want to get more balanced.

Well saying kills might be overstating it. But yes you have it right. Fighters have a bonus against shooters, Riders have a bonus against fighters and shooters have a bonus against riders. Vehicles are neither weak nor strong against anyone they are neutral no bonus for or against.
