This week's #Qigong practice focuses on the health of the joints in the body.
Did you know that there are 360 joints within the human body?
Our joints are where bones, muscle, tendons and ligaments meet. It is important that we maintain the health and function of the joints.
Throughout our lives, repetitive motion, stress and poor posture deplete our joints and bones of vital #lifeforceenergy.
Proper posture and movement bring energy to the joints and relieve stiffness and general aches and pains within the joints. Many studies show that Qigong movements help combat #arthritis and osteoporosis.
"Motion is lotion" is a phrase that I love to use as a teacher of movement. My students generally laugh when I say that. Movement helps prevent stagnation of energy in the joints, builds strength and flexibility as well.
I hope that you enjoy this practice. Remember to listen to your body and modify where you need to.

I have hypermobility Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, chronic fatigue, and fibromyalgia and this was the best I felt doing exercise in months

Excellent! I did it yesterday and liked it so much I did it with my husband today. So nice to focus on shoulders, wrists, elbows---seldom do so in yoga and all the downward dogs can be taxing on the wrist. Loved the figure 8s (at one point you called them figure 4s but I think you just misspoke---I'm pretty sure they were still figure 8s. And the movement with the hips and elbows was so good---kind of like doing prayer twist in yoga, but more dynamic with an increased range of motion. My upper body felt so limber after this. Thanks

"Wow" so I'm suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, and I watched this video intensely. Wasn't quite ready to try this while I was watching. But saved it for a when I was less sore. Especially my fingers, wrists, elbows and neck have chronic fatigue and very little mobility. Thank you Steven
